  • A story about a road trip through the Dordogne region of France. Filled with caves, historical cities, and UNESCO sites, this is the final installment of our time in France.
This story includes footage of the following sites:
    The city of Sarlat-la-Caneda es.sarlat-tourisme.com/descub...
The Lascaux Caves (UNESCO World Heritage Site) www.lascaux-dordogne.com/en/p...
    Gouffre de Padirac www.gouffre-de-padirac.com/
Village of Rocamadour (UNESCO World Heritage Site) www.visit-occitanie.com/en/di...
Featured here are some amazing French characters: Maxence, Mathilde, and Justine. Some of the most kind people we have ever met, who ensured our Dordogne journey was filled with “Wow”. They planned the stops, navigated the roads, and ensured we were well fed along the way.
Join us for unforgettable sites, funny moments, and to plan your own French road trip. This travel adventure left a lasting impression on us, as we hope it does the same for you.

    Who are Collin and Meredith?
In August of 2023 we left our corporate jobs to find out what it is like to live around the world. The fall of 2023 was spent exploring Europe, visiting friends, and learning our “travel style”. These are those stories :).
Currently, we are living in South America for the next six months traveling at a much slower pace & LOVING it.
Follow our journey as we learn from different cultures, make friends, and attempt to put the puzzle pieces of our world together.
    The goals of our trip/experiment:
    1) Experience life on all 7 continents.
    2) Find (and eat) the best Cinnamon Rolls on the planet.
    3) Take as many slow and deep breaths as possible in beautiful places.
    Thanks for watching!
    Collin & Meredith :)

Having worked on the maintenance and preservation of the original cave, I can tell you that there is no notable difference.
In addition, in the original cave you have to wear waterproof clothing and an air rebreather mask and it's frankly not pleasant.
this kind of astronaut outfit is the death of fun.

what a cool job you had! I'll pass on the astronaut outfits haha. Glad they made this replica so we can experience it without the extra gear!!

Lascaux II, the replica was built because the visits of people was literally destroying the painting, just by breathing inside.

@@collinandmeredith Sorry for making you tearing up but the artistry of the scene is remarkable, not to mention the full movie itself. Blue Sky Studios is a great landmark in anmation history, short-lived but very refreshing and innovative. Disney is effing up big time, they're accumulating faux pas after faux pas.

@@collinandmeredith I'm gonna share a "secret" location : if you have the opportunity to go to Le Conquet, ask to some people from this town where is located the "purple creek" ("crique violette" or "crique aux oursins"). It's a very small _crique_ but instead of sand or pebbles, you'll find crushed urchin shells that have turned pulple due to the sea water iodine deposit in the porous calcium carbonate.
