Only people over 50 can get shingles.
I had shingles twice while under the age of 40. It can start up due to stress.

Allie, because of the Doctors that have not given information that was wrong on various things in my life, I do follow the rule....Always get a second opinion, Remember two Doctors are better than one and some are trained and have the experience that differ from each other, giving you the solution that may be missed. I'm so sorry you are going through this.

Allie, you are a warrior, as Trent alluded to! You are not complaining. You are dealing with a difficult situation as best you can. Lots of people in your situation would be in bed all day but you are out there living life, getting things done. Kudos to you!
You must know a lot of weak minded people if they'd be in bed bcos of an eye ailment. I had an eye infection where the pain was excruciating but I kept going. I think you kiss ass a bit too much.

Becarefull Allie our bodies change on what we are use to and not. My buddy worked around Bees his whole life and had been stung multiple times throughout the years.10 years back a Bee sting literally knocked him out gasping for air. Turns out now he is highly allergic. Carry’s EpiPen’s spring summer winter and fall.

I ran a home daycare for over 20 years. We kept a bunch of over-sized old t-shirts for "messy foods" to cover their bare skin and lap. Those acid foods really itch little ones skin. They kept the t-shirts on way better then the bibs. A plus...it made clean up so much easier 😉
Yes even better my 3 kids and 7 grandchildren use the long plastic bibs so easy to use and clean just a thought!

This is just a suggestion. You might want to turn your snow blower auger blades to the outside of the deck so that Leo can’t fall on them. They could do a lot more damage than if he fell on any other part of it.

I love seeing Leo doing the messy toddler eating; he is adorable! My daughter was pregnant when Allie was, and my 14-mth-old grandson also gets really messy eating. Many times, he goes right from dinner to bath (especially when he decides to touch his hair in the middle of eating!) Thank you for sharing your family with us, Trent and Allie. Watching you feels like checking up on old family friends.

Allie: For your eye problem, you might try Optimel Eye Drops. It has Manuka Honey which comes from bees in New Zealand. Manuka honey has antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. My wife had similar eye problems and it really worked for her. Anyway, get well soon! Love your content!

It could be herpes, because Trent has herpes. But herpes is a taboo subject even though about 80% percent have herpes.
I would seek out another eye specialist immediately. Eyes are too precious to fool around with. Second opinions are good to have. Go, Allie!

I feel Allie's pain, I once got a tiny thread of that danged Pink Panther insulation in my eye and after multiple doctor visits etc I was about to give in and tell him to just pull the eye out... I wanted to, anyway I began washing it with sterile saline eyewash like 3+ times per day and after a couple of days I was patting it with a sterile square and low and behold a strand of that insulation emerged! It was nasty and puss covered but it came out in one piece and OHHHH! Get well, Allie 👁💕
I was thinking the same thing that it could be insulation from the garage or dry wall dust. Eyes aren't anything to mess with so stay strong. Hopefully you'll have answers soon. Best wishes to all of you.

Allie, if you don't already do, at least buy some of those "salt water" eye drops and use them to rinse the eye a couple of times a day to keep it clean. I once had a weird thing under my eyelid, but i rinsed the eye a lot and after a while it just healed.
Just wondering why you don’t put a vapour barrier between the insulation and the drywall. Especially in the ceiling.
Allie I have had a viral infection that went untreated, because they were trying to treat a bacterial infection instead, by several eye doctors MDs, until they sent me to a corneal specialist who immediately treated me for the viral infection. Not to scare you but I lost that cornea! Don’t wait, be persistent, this is your sight and it’s valuable! Hope you find the right doctor!
Don't feel guilty Allie. Our eyes are one of the most sensitive parts of our body, when they are hurting, it can feel debilitating. You are strong because through it all you keep on going, and you still maintain a smile. Prayers for complete healing! 🙏🏼

Yes…Allie is indeed a warrior! One great woman with a beautiful family. Hope the eye situation gets resolved very soon. Be safe.
Instead of looking at Allie's actual eye, have them look at the underside of the eye lid. If they haven't done it yet, have them put florescent dye in your eye to spot damage on the eye and inside the lid. The dye acts like the same thing they do to find cracks in engine blocks ( magnaflux, but for the eye ). I think you have damage from rock wool. I had a tiny metal sliver inside my eye ball and that was so painful. The Dr. put dye in my eye to be able to see the metal. I have also had burns from welding a few times. One of those times it was from just a reflection of welding off of something that burned my eye. When I was 21 I had hypothermia (long story) and developed severe allergies that caused my eyes to form a thick mucus coating over the eye. Then the coating separated and strings went deep inside the socket and had to be manually removed. That lasted like 20 years. Now the only allergies I have is to cats. I have 5 cats and at times it gets bad, but I just love them so much, to spite the itching and swelling. The worst part of my cats is my youngest cat is a long hair, and when I get one of her hairs in my eye, it is so irritating.
I had a metal splinter in the underside of my eyelid, lucky to have a doctor that spotted it, was small but painful.
Tell them you have been exposed to insulation particles
Was thinking same thing could be rock wool it spread like a dust. If you are not seeing a ophthalmologist then try to find one quickly. You don’t want to lose your eye sight. Might try keeping a bandage over it to keep the light out of it.
This is a good suggestion something like a tiny tiny spec of rock wool could very easily be missed. I hope she did tell them about the things she’s potentially been exposed to and I hope she sees this suggestion.

Allie, as a fellow germaphobe I relate! I remember when our oldest was about 2 and had a cold, his nose was nasty and I remember him standing in front of me for a solid min or two thinking hard about something. Then all of the sudden walks closer, wipes his nose all over my pant leg and walks away like nothing was wrong. Also, flying with kids when they want to touch EVERYTHING in sight on the plane (and also put their hands in their mouth) is enough to make me cringe cry (is that a thing?). I also hope your eye gets better soon!

I’m a mom ( of 2 grown men 31,28) and I KNOW all about the attitude of “ mom is too busy to get sick”…. Stay Strong but “ give yourself a break” and take a day to just pamper yourself and eventually your eye will improve under Dr.’s care 🙏💕

Allie prayers your eye and bee sting gets better very soon. But be careful if you reacted that way from a bee sting you could be developing an allergy. My mother was very allergic and had to get to ER for a shot. Just be careful.

Trent, I saw a neat gadget on another channel that aids w/drywall sanding. It's a rotary head electric sander, the sanding head being at least 12" diameter, mounted on a telescoping hollow wand. Surrounding the sanding head is a vacuum intake that sucks up almost all of the dust created by sanding, sending it thru the hollow tube to either a bag worn over the shoulder of the sander operator or the vacuum function of the sander can be attached to a shop-vac or other type of vacuum cleaner. The sander was not expensive and the contractor who showcased it on their channel said it was a real game-changer for finishing drywall, much, much better than any other drywall sanding technique they had ever used. I just saw the video a day or so ago, and while by the time you may read this, you will likely be done with finishing drywall in the garage, the tool may come in handy for finishing drywall in the casita. I think the channel was Perkin Brothers Builders, their latest video on their current duplex build, but it may also have been Premier Outdoor Spaces, their latest video of a time-lapse backyard makeover.

Decades ago, when I was working in an electronics shop as a solderer, I had a miniscule bead of solder flash up under my upper eyelid of my left eye (I was soldering under a double eye-piece microscope), had to undergo surgery to remove the solder, got to wear an eye patch for a week or so, Argggh!
Allie, you don't come across as complaining at all. You're clearly just sharing something that's going on with you that, as it happens, you don't like very much. You are such a strong, positive person; I think that's why it might feel like complaining to you-you just so rarely have to say anything negative. I hope your eye clears up quickly with the new antibiotic.

Allie a friend went through something that sounds like the same thing. 3 eye doctors and a month later she was diagnosed with a clogged tear duct. Maybe ask about that as a possibility. Good luck.

Now you’re having to move stuff to drywall then move it back to drywall another part then move it again to tape and mud and so on and so on. Hi Alli, this happened to me once. I put drops in my eye after an operation and it got worse and worse. Very red and prickly. It turned out to be allergy. Check it out. I was allergic to the preservative in the drops. Its something else to check that doesn't seem to have been mentioned.
Starting with itchy eyes made me think allergy right away. Did you change anything with facial products, makeup or eye care, could you have a new product allergy?
Same here, my doc finally said stop putting anything in except Refresh and your facial sprsy...cleared right up.
Allie the Cornea has no nerves in it so you are not feeling pain from it. The eye lids have massive amounts of nerves in them. Get the doctor to flip the eyelid and see if there is something stuck to it or if there is a piece of metal stuck in the eye causing the eyelid to get scratched and become inflamed. I had that happen to me and he had to remove the metal and then he had to drill into the cornea to remove a rust ring. Then he covered the eye to keep it from moving as much and keep out dust and wind. I prayed to god to help with the healing but I'm afraid that you must have the Faith to receive the healing.❤❤❤❤

When I was Trent's age I'd work 12 hour shifts and then come home to work on my home . Now I'm 63 and haven't got the energy for anything beyond my Horse's and grandkids

Hopefully by now Allie, you are feeling much better. The eyes are such a sensitive place on the body. When I hurt my eye, I kept a patch on it and sprayed colloidal silver in it 3x a day. Took a couple weeks, but finally it resolved. Auto immune issues sometimes complicate or extend healing times.

I understand how you feel about complaining when you have pain because so many other people are suffering with huge problems. I have a lot of health issues the bad ones as far as pain, hip replacements, knee replacements four back surgeries, broken leg chronic pain in the back and you don’t want to complain. Sometimes you just have to because it get so overwhelming. You are a warrior. Anyone who hast to deal with pain is a warrior I think because it’s no fun. When you have to go years and years of just pain every day every hour that sucks. So beautiful Allie you just go ahead and complain you’ve earned it.

I had something similar happen to my eye years ago. I rubbed my eye because it itched so bad and then I found myself with the mess you have. Turns out for me it was a clogged tear duct and irritation due to allergies. It was amazing pain. I do hope it gets well soon. Much love from Texas. ❤❤

Allie, my heart absolutely goes out to you. My daughter and I agree that there really isn't much worse than an eyeball ache. You can't ignore it, it can make your entire face hurt and messes with your mind. I hope and pray you find out what the deal is and that it heals completely ASAP. God bless.
Hey Allie, so sorry to hear that you are still suffering with your eye. I have had a very similar recurring experience with my eye. Turned out to be a blocked tear duct, which eventually caused the infection to spread into a bacterial skin infection. Had to have it surgically corrected. Have you asked the eye doc to have a look at the tear duct? Just a thought. I am hoping that it is not the duct, and sending healing thoughts your way. Hope to see you feeling better real soon. Apply heat to the sting as warm as possible the heat changes the proteins I was told. Also meat tenderizer rub on the sting area. I keep bees the more you get stung the less they bother you in many people. The heat trick works for mosquitos also.
If you can keep something like benedryl with you and take it as soon as you get stung, it lessens the reactions. Also Preparation H helps a lot. I had to learn the hard way.
Even a Benedryl salve would help, topically.
ALLY, you might see a dermatologist for your eye as well as the ophthalmologist you are seeing. Keep in mind there is a new type of stubborn, drug resistant ringworm in our country. Ringworm is not an actual worm. It is fungal. Hope you feel better very soon!!!

I had a similar eye problem last year Allie. It took weeks to find out what was going on. I was in pain and getting frightened. My doctor to eye doctor to then to a ophthalmologist oculoplastic surgeon. New antibiotics each time I saw next doctor.. Mine turned out to be collapsed tear duct. Hope yours is an easer recovery. I had reconstruction surgery and am fine now.
First time caller, long time follower. Regarding Allie’s eye… have you had it checked for Uveitis? The discomfort and need to wear sunglasses hints of Uveitis. An ophthalmologist would be able to test you for it. Hopefully you’re on the mend 🤞🏻
Uveitis is an inflammation that results in the pupil and cornea grinding against each other which cause pain every moment the pupil tries to respond to light which is why wearing sunglasses feels a bit better because they reduce the drastic/rapid changes to light exposure. Antibiotics won’t help… steroid drops along with long acting dilation drops are a typical treatment. Untreated it can result in scaring and other ocular damage. I had this a few years ago and danced around it like you but once I visited my primary care physician I was immediately referred to an Opthamologist (not and optometrist). A standard eye doctor was not the path to take. I really hope you’ve got this sorted by now but wanted to put this on your radar since it’s less common.

Our builder put our drywall up and had a plasterer come in to do the finishing.
On the walls, it is probably better to use OSB boards, then you have good attachment points for putting things up on the walls
I suggested sheet metal roof or siding for garage walls. Easier, lighter, and can be removed if needed to change something in the wall later, and then put right back up, and NO TAPING NOR MUDDING.

Allie, Go see an ophthalmologist. You need a specialist to see about your eye. I hope you feel better soon.
Are you light sensitive? If you are, then there is something wrong with your cornea. You need to see an ophthalmologist. Also the pain is indicative of a corneal problem. Another possibility, there may be something under eyelid.

Hang in there Allie! Eye issues are the worst. It is such a sensitive area and not an area to experiment. You did the right thing getting it checked out again and I pray the antibiotic works it’s magic.
Allie, get a second opinion. You know it’s still not right, therefore it’s not right. Hopefully they listen to you and get you back on the mend. 🤞
Has anyone suggested placing a used black tea bag on your lower eye lid to help draw out inflammation? I didn't think it would help until I tried it. AND it worked!.

Alli , concerning your eye! First of all, I'm so sorry you are suffering from this, you ARE a warrior, busy mom's don't get sick days!! Ask your Dr. to rule out KERATITIS !! I suffered for 15 yrs with one or two flare ups a year before I finally found an eye Dr that diagnosed it and treated it properly with Acyclovir! It's very painful as it's a cold sore on the eyeball. I hope you receive relief soon! 🥺 I hope it's not keratitis but when you described your symptoms it sounded very familiar to what I experienced with misdiagnosing and subsequent damage to my eyeball causing scar tissue on my corner. Thank goodness I'm able to keep it under control with acyclovir! My 1st flare up was when I was 16 I'm now 70!! I hope this gives you some knowledge in your "more aggressive" approach! You go girl!! 👍
Poor Allie. I hope you can soon get relief and resolution on your eye situation. Meanwhile, keep an eye on that bee sting. You don’t want that to get infected. You might be developing allergies as you age. I know I have.
