Overview of the GBx-100 GShock. I believe it to be the best evolution in terms of features for the original G-Shock Square and the best valued. If you’re after one square this is the one! Cheers
Solar should be absolute standard on all G Shocks these days, multi band 6 too but I can let that go (especially if it’s Bluetooth time sync) but solar is a must have.
Hello from fort lauderdale Florida. Always been a watch nut, but never digital. Recently i am a digital fan. Casio only. Love all casios. Especially the squares.
The MIP screen is really easy to read for a negative display. Completely different compared to the regular negative displays used in gshocks. However I still prefer positive displays for ease of readability.
@@djpharoah7XL Thank you for the response. It sounds like it's on all the time running in the background until the watch detects another device trying to connect to it. I was hoping there's an actual setting somewhere in the menu which you can turn it off completely.
@@djpharoah7XL Yeah I know but it's not like other smart watches where you have to charge every week or so. It's changing a $1 battery every year so not a big deal IMHO.
@@Ni5ei I would agree, except that with every battery replacement you need to make sure the watch is sealed and waterproof, with silicone gasket grease and replacing the rubber ring if necessary (if it'sdeteriorated), which most people don't do, so the module is at risk of water damage
The only downside of this watch is the battery life, it lasts 2 years on a good estimate, if you don't use power hungry features too much.. the display looks great and is readable, but it's what has stopped me from getting one so far..
Love this watch & just got one. Great review!!
So many fans have said a MIP display, g shock square with solar = massive seller. Hopefully this gets heard.
Hasn’t been done in so many years makes me think the power efficiency of MIP might not be as much as they say
Wow.. I didn't know this model had all these things going on. Nice review 👍
It’s great but definitely has some annoyances that I’ll cover in another video.

Word - huge benefit of not having to worry with Solar..
Nice brother, keep it up. Johnny.bravus from wus here. Cheers.
Thanks brother!

It’s hard once you get the bug for squares! 😂
looks sick, I think you and I have similar tastes. I've been eyeing the GBx-100 and some SEL Instruments watches lol
Thanks for the comment and support 🤙🏼
Best display. Great review
They need to put MIP in all their digital stuff!
@@djpharoah7XL agree and also tough solar ..but let's focus on this watch. It's still a winner with that display. Love it
Whats up buddy. Have you tried the nato strap adapters. I love them on my GAS-100B.
This model the stock straps are killer soft. No need for the JaysandKays adapters.
Highly agree that it needs solar. Don't care about the notifications feature since it's optional to have on.
Yeah the notifications remind me of Palm OS from back in the day... useless
Maybe I missed it, but you didn’t mention several other functions of the watch.. tide levels, sunset/sunrise, moon phases..
I didn’t because I don’t usually use the watch for that. I was only interested in the basic gshock features and that beautiful screen!
It's this the best readable screen for all the squares?

Can the GBX-100's bluetooth function be disabled or turned off?
I believe it’s only on when you connect otherwise it’s not on.

Unfortunately you probably are right. Every other BT gshock I have does it the right way.
What type of battery is required?
It seems to take a normal CR2032 cell.
does it include heart beats calculater??
No it doesn’t. It only has step calculator which wasn’t accurate.
I wish they would make a plain g shock with MIP W/O all the “health crap”.
🏆⌚️
Thanks - had some flaws but I think it’s where G-SHOCK should go for their squares personally
Replacing the battery once every year or so... What's the problem?
It’s not solar powered so eventually with the constant usage and lighting it would run out.
@@djpharoah7XL Yeah I know but it's not like other smart watches where you have to charge every week or so. It's changing a $1 battery every year so not a big deal IMHO.
I guess a solar watch where you don’t care or have to worry is my preference. Each to their own I guess - just enjoy what you want 🤙🏼
@@djpharoah7XLYeah I know what you mean. I just think it's not that big of a deal. But perhaps for some people it is important. Fair enough.
