Phil, I think you need to use a rainy day and make a video of scrapping out the motors in your shed for copper. This would not only make a good vid, but would yield a nice payday of #2 when you see a good copper price spike. Besides, may free up a barrel or two in the shed and something you haven't shot a video of recently.

I've found after taking the shaft out of the motors I could brace the shroud and pound the copper core out. No need to burn blades and reduce cost. Aluminum motors sell them as dirty aluminum.

Wow!! That was once again a great stripping video. Finally you could clear your yard of all the stuff from that great pick up. The first priority is to reduce volume. You are doing it right by taking out all non ferrous which can be sold with minimum effort. Later you will have all the stuff that needs processing. Waiting for your tomorrow yard run. Lots of stuff like motors, ballasts, old sheet, extruded will disappear. Then you got lots of dirty Aluminum too. Interesting to wait to see what you pick up tomorrow.

I am getting.20 a pound for electric motors. .12 for dirty aluminum and .70 for copper insulated wire. Just a sample of some prices. Even with the currency difference you are still getting paid much better. Problem where I live is there is only one yard in my County. No competition.
