2022 and it finally comes out that Evan and Katelyn aren't actually real, they're computer generated and The Supurrvisor actually runs the channel. And nobody is surprised as they never seemed to age and were always a little bit too perfect...

whenever they bring up a channel i know of it always feels so crazy like "wow CZcamsRS actually watch CZcams? and they watch the same people that i do????"
I remember Mumbo Jumbo had that issue with Copyright Claims - hundreds of his videos have had to be reuploaded or edited to avoid all intros and outros as there was apparently a sample in the original music that was owned by someone other than the artist :/

With Jaclyn and the lipsticks it was her brand like she should of double or triple checked and people lips were literally getting cut from metal in the lipstick so they were moldy fury and literally metallic not just a cute metallic finish

The 'Spill' CZcams thing you were describing was interesting.
There was a company that used this same concept to retell Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice in a Vlog style format, complete with character Twitter accounts and other character YT channels. Title was the Lizzie Bennett Diaries. It was a lot of fun and a nice way to play with the concept I thought.
Then of course there are the more insidious channels that I only recently learned about via SmarterEveryDay series on YT, FB and Twitter counter measure issues.
Yeah I think when a company is being upfront about it all, no worries, but it gets weird when it seems like they're trying to be purposefully misleading. We watched that smarter every day video too, crazy stuff
Man, seeing all of this copyright drama happening just makes you realize how primitive our laws are for anything digital and technological.

We started getting a lot of copyright claims on music that we got from a copyright free website. The Hill sounds crazy, but I think Evan and Kaitlyn should do a cartoon. You guys have great cartoon voices. I would watch that.

The abuse of the copyright system, especially by massive companies that are essentially taking over rights to songs is so upsetting

Good information in excellet package. Publish videos in many platforms in the same time, its like backup of channel. Divade videos not only in eposodes, but also for seasons. Content creators unite. You still have comments section open, CZcams have close comments from some channels for unknown reason.

It’s honestly not bad, especially since it’s definitely science based and they do make it interesting. I haven’t subscribed to Brew or anything like that yet, but I honestly would not be shocked if he isn’t real. I’d be more shocked if he is real
It’s a cool concept though, just sometimes it would be nice to have more transparency in that sort of thing
Too bad that CZcams doesn't allow you to re-upload the video to the same link so you can edit it in your own software and replace the video.

It would be nice but easily abused. You could have a very popular and innocent video and then replace it with something not as appropriate.

The copyright example you use already happened to a minecraft youtuber. He bought an intro song from a creator, the music used was free to use, until Warner bought the original song, from the 70's or something crazy. His channel was hit for every video, automatically. He had to remove the intro from every video he's ever made, before he could dispute the claims. His channel is mumbo jumbo

There is a Spill video, a celebration video for 1mil subs, where she talks about where the channel started and how the group of people - the people behind the scenes - actually got together to make the vids. According to the video, she majored in journalism while her friend majored in graphic design (or something along those lines) and they were both fascinated with youtube drama, but wanted to create content that was more focused, less "she said he said" with as much evidence as they could dig up, and that would deal with the central issues surrounding "WHY" certain scandals caused such waves. They go on to explain how the rest of the team got together, Brew being someone voiced by someone with a strong interest in history, and Grill being whatever he is. I enjoy the videos, they can be addictive, and I stopped myself from watching despite subbing after I watched that ep because I thought it was super interesting. Anyway, thanks for the ep :3
Oh, also: she and her friend did not want their pictures to come out because they wanted to create a neutral character that would be able to talk about these things with less attention being drawn them, and more about the issues.

The whole “Warren” place seems to be doing (or did) the same thing as Warner/Warren Chapel did
And as Evan is talking about around 8:20, the Warner/Warren Chapel people copyrighted an entire channel’s videos, because the creator used the same song as intro and outro music. For every single video. They had gotten an agreement with someone that they could use that piece of music freely.
I don’t remember if it’s Warren Chapel or Warner Chapel, and I don’t know how big they are, but that sounds really familiar.
If you know who I’m talking about, then you know who I’m talking about. If you don’t, it’s not important as to who, but as to what happened to them.
Edit: Reading through comments, Evan & Katelyn know who it is. It was apparently a big one, and it was the incident with Mumbo Jumbo

I got a copyright claim off of a CZcams Audio clip. I filled out the form and they dropped it but it was still a PITA.

Intellectual Property (IP) is a western world idea. The whole idea of patents and copyright is almost unheard of in Asia and the Far East. In places like Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore people copy new ideas quickly and freely "for the betterment of society". Some argue that true capitalism calls for completely open markets with no protection for an individual. With the rise of global markets like CZcams the United States and Europe can no longer enforce strict adherence to IP laws that originated in the West but have little or no heritage in the East, but they keep trying - for now. Welcome to global economy! Heavy stuff today - good podcast...

Jaclyn hill, the makeup youtuber they spoke about, it was Her company. And the biggest issue isnt that the product was gross, it's how she handled it. She knew there was issues. In her product introduction videos she herself has hairs on it... and she wouldn't take even an once of responsibility. Blamed everyone else. And refused to recall her products.
Should she have been attacked the way she was.. absolutely NOT. She had threats made against her. And that's never a response that should happen. She could have. Should have done things differently.

Didn't she get a lot of backlash with her collabs with Morphe when their products had issues as well? This was before Jaclyn Hill made her company and made her own products.
What if the computer algorithm reviewing the video considers robutts fighting as cruelty? Its people may not what to fight but are being forced to for our entertainment. Its savage.
That's a good point!
The copyright thing is kind of scary. I get that it's necessary, copyright needs to be enforced. But it's also so easy for someone to claim stuff and screw things up for creators. Even when you do everything right, defending yourself in a false claim takes time and energy out of what you're supposed to be doing, making new content.
Yeah it's tough. I wish that the proportion of monetization that could be claimed was the proportion the the music was in the video. But it sucks when people have a 1 second sample or 2 seconds of the radio in a car driving by, and the WHOLE video is claimed

Is there anything wrong in following an "artificial" youtuber? Is it wrong to not disclose it? Why aren't the people doing the channel opened about it? And, by the way, how awfully sexist it is that the gossip channel is a female character, and the scientific and ranting ones are mails... Do you have any thoughts on these topics?
