Maybe it’s just the sleep deprecation talking, but the idea of locking Magnus and Dr. Clef in the same room would result in legendary shenanigans.
That would've been a sight
😂
ur mums BUTT is shenanigans
*deprivation*
Or did you not approve of sleep?
😂😂😂
@@Purged_Existenceur mums BUTT is a sight
When the gods of chaos flung the infant primarchs into space, they also manipulated them to be sure they fell. For Perturabo, they took away his ability to enjoy discovery and creation by gifting him perfect understanding of everything he saw. For Curze, they put him on a planet so corrupt, there wasn’t a chance for the future judge to see or understand the good in humanity.
For Magnus, and I don’t know if this is true, but I feel what they probably did was insulate him from any negative consequence from dealing with his powers. In fact, they probably made sure every time Magnus used his powers passionately, that the warp obliged without any corruptive or chaotic influence. In fact, it’s possible the chaos gods left the whole of Prospero alone, creating a psychic area of peace around the planet. Maybe Magnus was so confident in the warp because his experience with it was like how the warp was before the birth of Slaanesh. Not quite Sea of Souls level of peace, but not the maddening hellscape it is today.
More like the Warp pre-war in heaven since thats generally considered the time that the "Realm of Souls" became twisted with malice due to the, literal galactic war.
Eh, it's all about choices, when you say that Chaos manipulated where and how they fell.
Roboute Guilliman must be the luckiest, or Rogal Dorn or Leman Russ or Sanguinus.
And for Perturabo, The Emperor hated him.
For Magnus, his fall wasn't due to his usage of the warp, because that's how he was design by the Emperor.
@@RamonChiNangWong078 True, but a person’s choices are colored by their perspective and experiences. If you knew a person was going to be a wise, kind soul, but then have them grow up in a paranoid conspiracy nut’s care all their life, it’s going to shape them into not quite what they could have been.
Magnus and the 1K sons are my favorite 40K legion for lore. His being manipulated into chaos and how Ahriman is a microcosm of that is awesome.
"Psychic powers are dangerous and must be banned"
Meanwhile the Emperor is the most powerful psyker of all time
The Emperor knows a thing or two because he saw a thing or two
The bible: Magic is bad.
Also the bible: God created the world using magic.
I feel bad for Magnus. My boy tried to do good and warn the Emperor about Horus's betrayal and even tried to convince Horus not to turn to chaos, only to be tricked into working for Tzeetch in the end.
TBF this is Tzeentch we are talking about. It's nigh on impossible to escape their plots and machinations.
From a tragic figure to hialrious member of TTS to the gamer boi from Huter the Parenting, truly one of the greatest character evolutions of all time.
And personally from the TTS series made him my favorite among the Traitor Primarchs
So that's why the eye of Magnus is in Skyrim.
😂😂 more like 40k Magnus copied the OG Magnus the architect
So youre telling me that magnus wasnt saved from chaos and brought back to the imperial palace by an emperor that had a communicative text to speech devise grafted to him
Sure he did, this is just the story before that happens
I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thank you for all the effort you put into your videos 👍
Unquestionably the most sympathetic and tragic of the traitors. A moment of silence for what he was and could have been.
He didn't betray shit. It took the imperium betraying him multiple times and burning down his home and murdering all his sons for him to accept that he was betrayed.
Angron
came here to say this @@DavisXero
And another moment of silence for the sons he decided to give the silent treatment too when they needed him most.😢
Morty?
I wanted to thank you for your great videos. The story telling you do inspired me to write a bit on my own and just this last week I published my first SCP, scp-8877.
Keep up the good work, love your stuff.
Strong work!
Went and read your SCP! Actually pretty decent for a first timer, hope you keep writing more!
@@PrancingGoldfish I have 2 more ideas brewing.
@@thaumaturgeslit7759 Hell yeah, now that's what I like to hear!!!!!
It had to be fairly awkward when the 1001st son showed up, huh?
“Wooo thousand sons, let’s go guys!”
“Stay on the bench please”
In the end, Magnus made up with his dad and earned the companionship of Kitten.
ur mums BUTT is companionship
Thousand Sons player here, and as much as the meme of Magnus did nothing wrong goes around, there are a lot of different people at fault for the Burning of Prospero
Magnus was still at fault for sending away the defence fleet, lowering Prospero's defences, not communicating with Russ or his fleet, and in general choosing to martyr himself and his legion rather than explain anything.
It was the Emperor's fault for passing the blatantly hypocritical Edict of Nikaea, and for not telling his sons the truth of the Warp.
It was Horus' fault for changing the orders of the fleet from capturing Magnus to killing him.
It was Russ' fault for being a big, hairy jerk.
But above all, it was Tzeentch's fault for orchestrating all of this in the first place.
So, yeah, Magnus did plenty wrong. But so did everyone else in this situation.
People like to think that the Emperor is infalible, which at least during the time of the heresy is just not true.
Also worth noting Horus made sure the other pro-psyker Primarchs couldnt be at Nicea.
His real fall was from playing a children's card game; his companion Kitten . . . is very formidable at the game.
I see what you did here good sir, and i love you for it.
It was all Magnus' fault
#blameLorgar
The fall of Magnus and his sons some of the most tragic things that happened in the heresy. They were loyal, but Tzeentch had other plans.
They were not
@@ValyrianPrince They were originally. Before the Space Wolves got tricked into killing them and Magnus by Horus instead of capturing them, which the original plan. Magnus even had all his defenses down and told his sons to stand down, he was accepting the fact he was going to be punished.
@@ValyrianPrince The theory as i understand it is that if Magnus was brought to Terra as the Big E asked Russ, his penance would have been taking the Emporers place on the Golden Throne.
Maybe, just maybe if Big E had actually told his 'sons' the truth none of this would have happened... then again it's kinda poetic and telling that what brought Big E and the Primarchs down were inherently human traits.
The Emperor couldn’t tell Magnus because He knew Magnus was already chaos corrupted.
Magnus had made a pact with a Tzeentch Greator Deamon in order to stop the mutations that were killing his legion. That’s how Magnus lost his eye.
While this is the biggest issue most Traitor Primarchs said they had, it probably would not have changed much.
The Word Bearers were corrupted as they searched for new gods to worship after the Emperor razed Monarchia to stop them from worshipping him as a god. From them, corruption spread to all the other traitor legions except the Thousand Sons.
@@LoveStrangeDr Magnus knew somewhat about Chaos. He called it the Primordial Creator and studied it and the Warp even before he was reunited with his Legion.
He had been unwittingly deceived by Tzeentch into believing that he had defeated entities of the Primordial Creator in his quest for the cure, and that he had found it in the process. In truth, it was only Tzeentch's ruse, and it was through the use of the cure that he made the pact.
The exploring series is my favorite channel for all things h.p.lovecraftian,S.C.P, warhammer40k and story telling in general.
Thank you so much. I love Warhammer, and I love the SCP universe. Your videos are the best.
Magnus didn't betray shit. It took the imperium betraying him multiple times and burning down his home and murdering all his sons for him to accept that he was betrayed.
The attack on prospero was horus fault, wtf are you talking, also leman went out of his way to talk to him for hours and he refuse to fonit, when his sons attack and leman start the assault magnus again did nothing until was so late that nothing was going to change, also magnus was hungry for power pushing his sons into the warp unlike other chapter with psykers, if he keep his legion from that like the white scars, the space wolfs or hell even the death guard he may keep his legion during nikaea, its all in his books.
@@xzenitramx666sources, times, dates, editions....need i go on?
@@NukeTheGhettos really? Its in the burning of prospero ob abnett, how horus tricked leman and how leman try to talk to magnus and everything, youre one of those guys that take the memes its fact for sure.

I've become absolutely obsessed with the 40k universe over the last year and love that your incredible content is what sucked me into it
Another certified Warhammer 40k rogue trader classic. I'm playing dragons dogma 2 to this tonight
Thx TES honestly your voice is super soothing and hypnotic, I’ve legit astrally projected a couple times while falling asleep you your vids
Finally the best part of 2am.
Right on time. I'm excited for another one of your amazing videos my friend. Thank you for all the hard work you do!. Soon to reach 1 million subs my guy fingers crossed
our little magny magic has arrived and with no breached webways this time
Thank you for this series! WarHammer is fascinating with its stories and lore. You’re doing a perfect presentation, easily digestible, and fun to listen/watch.
"The failings of the emperor"
Sounds like heresy to me
Magnus is the 40K's definition of "F#ck around and find out"
I find that describes most wizards/mad-scientists.
Who's your favorite loyal and favorite traitor primarchs mr explorer?
EVERYTHING IS MAGNUS' FAULT!
Meh he didn't start the Heresy.
It was basically the arrogance of the warp entity known as "emperor of mankind" that caused his own demise, kind of fitting.
I love your content, and has been here for a while. I do wish you have longer warhammer videos :(
Thanks for the great video!
He totally did nothing wrong.
God his fall from grace was hard.
Magnus totally did do wrong, and lots of it.
He single-handedly destroyed the Emperor’s webway project, which then caused the lives of thousands of Custodes who died preventing a massive daemon incursion onto Terra.
Magnus’s hubris was his downfall.
Magnus did EVERYTHING wrong. While he didn't try to, he picked the dumbest possible decision at every single conceivable moment.
It’s called sarcasm guys.
Magnus did nothing wrong, but he didn't do anything right either.
I'm a simple man, I see Warhammer40k, I upvote.
LOYALTY REMAINS IT'S OWN REWARD
“If there wasn’t a FACKING WALL IN THE WAY!”
Magnuss the red just before making his greatest mistake.
Not disclosing his work back on Terra to the Primarchs was the Emperor's greatest mistake.
Thanks for the dive into this mythos, The Exploring Series and Warhammer 40K. Is mythos the right word? I can't think of a particular comment on the subject for now, but I had a good time watching the video.
TTS Magnus Cannon > GW's Magnus Cannon
Considering how TTS was my main introduction to Warhammer 40k as a whole, I would agree with this statement. I like the nerdy red giant, and feel like he should have deserved better than what he got in the actual GW canon
Wait so baby Magnus was raised on prospero, was he just a giant raised by mortal men and sorcerers?
They were a planet established by early psykers, which comes with a higher chance of mutation, so him being a beet red slab of 8ft meat probably got at most a slight shrug, and nothing more
I love it when you do 40k!!!
1000 sons look so freaking dope
A Magnus-lead Grey Knights.... oh man....
Please keep the 40k coming!😊
Can be buddies with Starscourge Radahn.
Thank you
Would love to see the scp multiverse try and "not piss of the cyclops"
I can't wait until you get to an Exploring Warhammer 40K on Leman Russ, I also hope one day you do an Exploring Warhammer 40K on the Imperial Navy.
The most supernatural aspect is the neverending film he put in the camera.
Magnus is just another tragic example of the Emperor's colossal arrogance and callousness. It's a miracle that all the Primarchs didn't fall to Chaos.
Very Nice!
Of all the primarks Magnus is the most YOU DONE FUCKED UP
Never been this early to a TES video
I have not really been listening to your 4k stuff. I think the format could be longer. Love your SCP.
We need an exploration into the Dune universe; there's like 20 books 🪱
*OH BOY! IT’S 3AM!!*
Right off the bat, a picture of Magnus presumably casting a spell.
Thank you.
Please do Argel and Kharn.
People whining about Magnus literally ignored the true tragedy, Mortarion, imagine having the goal of your life being take away right in front of your eyes, never being able to overcome your childhood trauma, and then being forced to work under another tyrant “father” who treat you and your legion as expendable, then having your legion stuffed with sorcerers against your will, being betrayed by your trusted sons, get absolutely tortured by the embodiment of plagues and death, and even so still constantly losing.
Thankfully he is now in the loving embrace of his true family: Grandfather Nurgle.
I’m pretty sure the sorcerer king is Ainz Oal Gown.
There once was a hero named Magnus the Red who came riding to terra from old Rorikstead...
I see what you did there with that whole "visible cost* sentence.
Wheres the Drukhari Video? I WANT REPRESENTATION!
Magnus... Succeed?
That's some funny shlt.
Oh man... Elder Scrolls and SCP blended for a minute, and I was lost for a bit. 😅
Threre's a persistent rumor that Magnus and the Emperor are running a massive con on Tzneetch.
Just a heads up TES the Emperor didn't warn Magnus of the dangers of the Warp. He told Magnus there were beasts in the Warp while actively deceiving Magnus about their level of intelligence. He also didn't bother to tell his most powerfully psychic son there were four GOD LIKE POWERS in the Warp. It's like telling your kid to watch out for snapping turtles in a river infested with man eating crocodiles and bull sharks.
Magnus did an oopsie
Coool
Magnus fall is due to his naivete and arrogance even thou his intentions were pure
MAGNUS DID (≥0) THINGS WRONG!
magnus is a small time psyker compared to 11
Magnus did a lot of things wrong. But that doesn't mean he isn't a tragic, synpathetic figure.
I thought it was general Radahn
Since we're here again, what is everyone's favorite faction? I can't quite choose between Orkz and Blood Angels personally
I thought malcador was the second most powerful psycher
Top 3
Not everyone in the imperium believes the actions of Horus were Heresy.
Magnus the rash
Honestly, nearly everything about Magnus’ story, the ludicrously named and written Council of Nikaea, his mistake while trying to warn the Emperor, the Emperor and Russ’ response, the meddling by Horus, and the subsequent Burning of Prospero are so narratively inconsistent, self-contradictory, and absurd that it took TTS to give me an incarnation of Magnus that I could enjoy. One that specifically took the piss out of how nonsensical his story is, and I love it for that.
But most of all, I love it for Dorn.
Magnus the Emperor of FAFO
How many primarchs have decided to betray the emperor after big E tells them to watch their planet or sons all be killed?
He made a lot of mistakes, but I still feel like he did nothing wrong.
Alot of things could've gone differently.
Magnus: Father ive come to warn you
Emperor: _I have contained my rage for as long as possible but i shall_ *UNLEASH MY FURY!! UPON YOU LIKE THE CRASHING OF A THOUSAND WAVES!* begone from me!
Ah yes, the man who did everything wrong. Love the Crimson King, his story is easily the most tragic and compelling of any Primarch in my opinion.
Ah, the XVth Legionnes Astatres, probably the most tragic of the Legions. I love the novels "A Thousand Sons" and "Prospero Burns". I didnt like the VIth Legion before, those books made me fucking hate them, and their bastard primarch. Even after the entire Heresy burned the galaxy to cinders, Russ still belligerently stood by what he did, even though it was against the Emperor's orders and he genocided Prospero because he is a psychopath who cant let go of a grudge. He couldnt even admit that he was duped by Horus and did one of the most heinous things to a truly loyalist Legion, the Legion that could have actually stood against the armies of the Neverborn. But Russ had to have his little wolfbaby tantrum, and fucked the Imperium for it. *And* this biggest pisser is he escapes judgement, as the Emperor is now entombed in the Golden Throne, and unable to do anything.
I hope when he returns from the Warp, he is so inextricably changed (read: tainted) by it he gets psychic powers. What sweet irony that would be, for him to become that which he despises so much. Bastard.
Im also building Heresy-era Ahriman right now, as well.
Russ doesnt despise psykers, he disliked how utterly dedicated Magnus and his Legion was on the warp Indispensably. "Prospero Burns" shows how the Space Wolves knew what they were doing was psykik with the Rune priests, and "Thousands Sons" ultimately showed how right the space wolves were on the TS since they had been manipulated and owned by Tzeench far before the heresy even started. "White Scars" showed us that Russ had been ashamed by his actions, and "Wolfsbane" has given us insight between him and Malcador that Russ understood his stance on psykers were hypocritical, showing clear signs of depression from his previous actions in that book.
@@valon5069Russ did what he did *proudly*, it doesnt matter that he felt bad about it afterwards. Warp take me, he only felt bad because he was duped by Horus, not for the murder of his brother. The VIth Primarch and his sons were always proud of being the Emperors "Executioners Axe" And yes, Russ absolutely despised psykers, the only Primarch that hated them more was Mortarion, who had a legitimate reason for it.
Russ is the original fratricidal Primarch. He *wanted* to see the XVth destroyed, and their Primarch along with them.
The Thousand Sons are my favorite Legion if you couldnt tell lol
@@FixedGearFox Even Magnus has cast away the claim that Russ had wished for the destruction of the Thousand Sons in the latest Siege of the Fang.
"Do you remember what you said to me, brother?
Magnus spoke aloud, his voice pure and powerful. His fingers twitched at his sides, eager for what was to come.
Do you remember what you said to me as we fought before the Pyramid of Photep? Do you remember the words you used? I do. As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of Wolves, his ferocity twisted in grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly, you were the attack dog of the Emperor."
And yes, counter to you Space Wolves are my favourite Legion.

Magnus the Red 👌
Vulkan the Black 💀
There is a character (aeldari I believe) that just teleports everywhere being a dick abt being able to do so that deserves one of these.
Magnus: If I switch to chaos, no one can tell me what to do
Khayon: No
Y he red dough?
Magnus Did Nothing Wrong
You know, The Text to Speech series had skewed how I see some of these characters.
Magnus the Red did nothing wrong.
The main take-away here is that Magnus did nothing wrong.
