Now that I got it, I put the key and it wouldnt start the LCD screen and motor, the horn and the security burglar alarm works however. Any advice on this?

    Hello Sir
    Please let me know if you know of a solution with my issue.
    I have an older Gio 48 volt 500
    Battery is charged and showing around 44 Volts (I serviced and charged each 12 volt cell separately)
    When battery is plugged iin to bike , only things that work is the horn and the signals. Nothing else. No lights and no motor.
    I have voltage passing through the breaker under the seat.
    Any advice ?
    Thank you

    • @GreenStreetOnline
      @GreenStreetOnline  Před 2 lety +1

      if the battery is indeed fully charged it should have a higher voltage than 44 volts
      should be around 52 to 56 volts
      if you charged each battery the voltage on each battery should be
      12.8 to 13.5 volts
      check each batteries voltage after they have charged and sat for an hour or 2
      if the battery voltage is still below 12 volt then the batteries are not holding their
      voltage.
      plug the charger in and turn on bike. Charger light must turn red.Turn throttle
      if bike wheel turns a little then charger is working and batteries are probably no good

      If motor tries to turn but locks
      Check wires from motor to controller there are 3 thicker wires probably Green yellow blue .one or more of these wires maybe melted and causing the motor to lock when throttle is turned.

    • @GreenStreetOnline
      @GreenStreetOnline  Před 4 lety +1

      your bike maybe 36volt but your lights may be 12volts or less.You will need to check the voltage at the place where you want to install the LED .use a volt meter.you can use leds you just need to know what voltage you are using.If it is 36volts then you need to use 36volt compatible lights.be very careful not to cross terminals

    • @GreenStreetOnline
      @GreenStreetOnline  Před 4 lety

      How old are the batteries?
      How far do you go before it quits?
      does the breaker trip when you hold the throttle too long?
      if so i would replace the breaker they have a habit of getting weak
      If the breaker does not trip and the bike still quits under load then that would
      suggest that you have weak batteries. They may show full charge but are not actually
      storing enough amperage while under charge.It only takes 1 or more bad batteries for this
      to happen.Also charger should be tested.

      Turn bike on with charger still plugged in to bike make sure back wheel is off the ground turn throttle what happens? If wheel turns ok shut charger off if bike quits your problems are in the battery pack.ie connection or bad batteries.

      Hi Clinton yes I can probably can step you through a process of elimination please feel free to call 705-775-4545 if you can not , I will need to know a little more info to help me help you
      1/ how old are batteries
      2/ where did you take your voltage check from, you should be measuring voltage at the charge port.
      3/ what is the voltage out put of your charger
      4/ are you loosing all power from the dash
      5 are you loosing power under load ?
      6 are you losing power over bumps?
      7 do you have and know how to operate a volt meter. I f not i will need to give direction on the phone
      answer these questions and I should be able to get you going.
      I am assuming this bike is a lithium battery pack because you said you tested the bms (what sort of test do you mean on the bms)If your battery keeps shutting down like someone is shutting it off than the problem is likely a defective cell in the battery.Or maybe the charger is not working properly This would mean that the battery needs replacing if the charger is working fine.
      some pictures of your bike and battery pack would be helpful as well
      cheers

    • @myscreen2urs
      @myscreen2urs Před 6 lety

      Green Street, to answer those questions..1). The battery is about 8-9 months old. 2). I measured the discharge wires. First at the end of the wires and then at the base. I didn't think to measure the charge connector. How do I do that? I have an RCA connector and its the female end (or maybe the male. It has the pin but its enclosed around.) I tried to measure that but sparked because the space is so small. 3). My previous charger was 54.8v when I measure (it blew recently and using a spare charger). My spare charger that I'm using now is measuring 53.5v but I'm now only charging to 53v.4). I don't have a "dash" so to speak. I just have a twist throttle with a digital indicator. But yes, when it happens, that goes blank. Actually, when I'm in full throttle and it happens, it drops to 20 something volts. I'm not sure because when it happens when I'm just taking off, it just goes blank like There's no power. 5). I lose power under load sometimes and sometimes, I haven't even mounted the bike.6). No, bumps are not effecting it. It happens on smooth terrain too.7). Yeah, I know how to use a volt meter. Mainly familiar with the DC settings and the continuity setting.Yeah, its a Li-ion battery. I tested each series (white wires going to the white connector on the bums). The first I took it, they were all around 3.8v. This was after a long day of riding. I think I also tested some other stuff but I forgot what that was. I think I need to check that one again. And on later tests, I tried measuring the series again but kept accidentally sparking them because my probe kept touching 2 at the same time. I was getting too nervous to continue to get all the readings. So, I'm not sure if they're all level. At first, I thought it might have been a bad charger, since my last one blew, I didn't get any issues, until today. I changed an old extension wire and some connectors but its still shutting down.

    • @GreenStreetOnline
      @GreenStreetOnline  Před 6 lety

      Hi there sorry for not getting back sooner
      It really sounds like there is something going on with the battery pack.
      To check the voltage on that rca connector you have to put the positive probe down into the middle and touch the out side with the negative.
      Testing the bms voltage of each cell you should see at least 4.2 volts with the batteries fully charged with no more than .2 variation between each cell.Anymore than .2 variation the cell is no good.Allways test the cells knowing that they are fully charged.I have bypassed the Bms before but i caution against this as it becomes a fire hazard with out the bms in there .If all voltage is good on all the cells than i would suspected a faulty BMS.This is where I usually stop and replace the whole pack.Remember that the battery is only as good as the worst cell in the pack.With the pack only being 8 months old maybe there might be some warranty as most lithium packs have 1 to 2 years warranty
      Your charger voltage seems low for a lithium.The voltage you have coinsides with a lead acid pack charger voltage.LIthium pack will charge at approx 56 volts.
      Not sure if I can help you any further
      cheers
