Faker is without a doubt one of the greatest players in League of Legends history. I can understand that some people are happy to see him lose, defeated or even so devastated. In times like this, there is no need to humiliate, to taunt or use any form of harrasement toward SKT T1, Faker and his fans. Worlds 2017 has been a great tournement full of excitements. this series, no. bang was the problem. This finals series was a 4v6. Even the ssg fans I talked to were tilted b/c they didn't want to win like this. They wanted to prove ssg were the team, but skt only fielded 4 players who were playing for skt.
i argue peanut was the problem, he didnt do anything for the first 2 games. Blank was actually doing something useful for his laners in the early game, unlike peanut.
the rest of skt's team all had issues; faker is basically LoL's highest tier Elo booster

Never have I been so devastated seeing a team losing playing a make believe game about pixelated heroes battling it out in an imaginary war. Oh to be so invested and connected to a game and a team, moments like this make it bittersweet.
I still get chills, this was easily one of the greatest months of my life.

2020-22 were the years of the underdogs. Suning going to the final, drx lifting the trophy against the world champios edg, the tournament favourites geng and the best team in the tournament t1, edg winning against 3 top lck team, after winning against rng the msi champions. Rng winning b2b msi.
So prolong games. Korean played safe and around vision. 2018 was better cause teams basically started playing more risky. 2015-2017 was the era of a slow burn old korean league

Congrats to SSG for capitalizing the impossible. They are way better team this worlds. They punished SKT for prioritizing the vision control and late game mechanical plays. Well deserved!
For SKT fans, don't be disheartened. Faker, kkOma and the rest of SKT played all their heart out but eventually, SSG played better. They will eventually learned from the mistakes and bounce back next year! :)
I do hope so, although I don't really pay much attention to supporting a team at worlds (I just enjoy it in the moment), I felt myself rooting for SKT because they felt like underdogs compared to SSG this year. Why would three time world champions - two being in a ROW - feel like underdogs? Because they're being capitalized on -- SSG learned how to play against SKT and unfortunately, at least from my point of view, SKT wasn't 100% at finals.
I think we might see a roster change with SKT as well, as not only was some players performance in the finals a bit rough, but Bang said in an interview last year that he had gotten sick of playing LoL since 2014. He might hang up his jacket.
Still, well played to SSG and I look forward to seeing their skins! :)
VioletAscent Definitely there will be a roster change. Huni and Peanut are great addition but they are not perfectly fit on SKT team to be honest. If last year's SKT retained their roster and fought SSG team roster again in worlds, they'll win in my opinion.
I'd love to see Bengi on SKT. This is going to be exciting.

My name here huni didn't perform bad (ofc not great) but he did what he was supposed to do while peanut just doesn't fit into skt playstyle. And abou the botlane... well lets just say they had some moments as well but probably the biggest point of their weaknes.

this has been the week of the king slayer. not only were skt dethroned, but at ufc 217 all three champions on the card lost, and in incredible fashion. its been a historical week in sports to say the least

i dont think its their bot lane. Even tho bang and wolf underperformed in the quarter finals a lot.. they were able to come back in the semi finals. But if you look at how inconsistent peanut and huni are this year it is quite questionable why they even brought huni instead of untara anyway while also it is even more questionable why peanut started the series in the first place when he has been far underperforming compared to blank.
I was rooting for ssg too but 1 thing I learned in season 4 and 5 that. SKT is the type that when they lose they comeback stronger next time.

Faker throughout 2017 Worlds wore his Jacket in every games. Even in the Finals in game 3 everyone in SKT took off their jackets while Faker still wears it. Faker carried his name even to the end. You can feel his heartbreak when you saw him cry. Faker walks out the stadium without looking at the Champions, cuz someday he will return even if it's only once will look upon himself as a Champion again.

I used to always hope that SKT will lose, but when they do, I cried...idk why.
We all knew this day would come eventually, and I like so many others perhaps wanted to see a shift, but I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I wish SKT wouldn't have lost 0-3 but rather a close 2-3. Faker and the team deserved to go out in a less humiliating fashion, then again another part of me is happy to see SKT not make it all the way. This just proves that the god-king Faker isn't whole without the hand of god Bengi.

What a year this was the uprising of Misfits, the surprising loss of LongZhu, the intense 5 games of Royal Never Give Up and SKT T1 and finally the shut down of SKT T1 by Samsung Gakaxy this year was very enjoyable. Everyone has fought hard well and everyone did their best. Congratulations to Samsung Galaxy for winning the championships and finally taking down SKT. It is very sad to see SKT and especially Faker broken hearted but there is always room for improvement so never give up! Legends Never Die~
