I live in Thailand.
De Vries is a dutch name probably comming from Friesland on of the two most nordic provences of the Netherlands. The father has defenatly dutch genes. Tall, blue eyed. And sinds the kids are blond, guess he was blond too. If i had to guess, when i heard him speak, he thougt he was a dutch native. Even if he was born there he still "sounds" dutch when he speaks english. Being efficient, practical and creative the blue eyed mother shows also some dutch heretage.
