In today's video, I give you three of my most elite level basketball rebounding tips to help you rebound the basketball better! These tips work for players of all sizes and skill levels so that means you don't even have to be the tallest or most athletic jumper on your team to get more rebounds! This video about simple basketball rebounding tips and drills is super easy to implement for players at every level. By implementing these basketball rebounding drills into your game you can almost immediately skyrocket your overall basketball skill level!
The first tip when it comes to rebounding is all about timing your jump! This seems simple but if we look at the best rebounders in NBA history guys like Charles Barkley and Dennis Rodman, they always made sure to time the jump to reach the ball at it's highest point! Timing is especially important if you aren't a great jumper to make sure you break free of the box out to go retrieve the rebound! So if you want to really skyrocket your basketball rebounding the first step is to do all your reps in practice at full game speed.
My second tip to snagging more rebounds is to think about the direction of the shot. More often than not the rebound will of long off of the rim which means that where ever the shot comes from you want to to position your body on the other side of the basket. If we look at the guys who really are dominant on the glass they all do a great job of positioning themselves on the opposite side of the shot to give them the best statistical chance to grab the rebound! Implement this tip and you will find yourself snagging more rebounds almost immediately!
My last tip to elite level basketball rebounding is to hold your block out. This seems self explanatory but we breakdown a new way to hold your block out that is far more effective than the traditional way of blocking out. Make sure you pay close attention to the new technique because this is some thing that players at every level can implement. Make sure to use this and start getting more rebounds!
As always make sure you are paying close attention to these basketball rebounding tips and drills so when the time comes you can really expand your game to the next level! Watch the video all the way through snag more rebound with these elite level basketball rebounding tips today!

Thanks
I get this satisfaction when I get a hard or tricky rebound and then I’m pumped for the rest of the game
Yes
for sure
Same I love being able to grab the board while going against multiple guys trying to do the same
Fr I subbed in for my brother on a friendly basketball game and we were losing with the opponent having 6 in the lead and we still lost but that one rebound and block I dod pumped me and my cousin up to the point we could have made a comeback
Why the dude at the right during the start of the video look like he bein held for ransom

i been playing street ball for two decades but i keep tabs on what i hear coaches tell me what they want out of players and what i wanted as an amateur coach in my younger years . i told my son most coaches want to see a rebounder who passes. Lots of players want to score almost no one wants to rebound and pass. So my son does this and makes the team but he dont want to play now because he is not having fun. It worked though.OH yeah and always stay between the player and the basket as a general rule its called boxing do it 24/7
Tell him not to give up doing this is exactly how I became driven to be a better shooter and driver. Tell him to stay in it. Stay confident and not let anyone bring him down
That's a shame. But he now has the skills and mentality to make him an asset to any team. Maybe advise him he should now work on a jumper and a couple of post moves?

my brother always tells me i gotta boxout and rebound more... this video helped me out!
I don't even think that words to thank you enough for this video exist 😊❤
Thank you, Coach
Love it coach
Finna try this tonight
I love ❤️ watching your videos
These were great tips
Pls share these tips once in a while. I need it cuz I have a role as a big man and these helps a lot. Still tho, my shooting is bad (Far from the rim) 😞
I thought you were trying to mimic Lonzo’s shooting form in the thumbnail
Bro 💀
Even though I'm 5'5 I still love to hustle sometimes rebounding and this videos keep me active, and by the way I'm from the philippines 😀😁wazzup!
eyyy im from Philippines too 5'6 😆
Every player needs this.
This is sooo accurate
My highest official score in a game is 8 points only but my rebound records is always 2 digits both defensive and offensive.
I'm not bragging, but I am role player I played as a center and power forward my only tactics is grab the rebound and pass as fast as possible to a team that shoot well (for offensive rebound) and to a team who run fast for fastbreak (defensive rebound)
I only score if I am free under the rim or messed around in final quarter when our lead is so high😂
I am not athletic or tall but I always been getting invited to play because I am doing my job and not the type of player who show off
good stuff
2:19 why do players bounce the ball with both hands when rebounding, I always been curious to know why
D D big men use it - a secure dribble and you can use it with a big hop to get close to the hoop. It is fast too... if you dribbled that hard or fast with one hand, it would be hard to control
@@paul3030 ah I see thank u paul
Kinda like how qb's pat the ball before passing
Faried is only using one hand there?
Can you make a video about how far away the ball should be from your body when bringing it up from the shot pocket? I keep hitting myself in the head when I bring the ball up ready to shoot
🤣
The last tip was the best especially since I'm a guard
Good video
hey, can u plz make a vid that brakes down Klay Thompson's jump shot, from AUS btw and love ur stuff
I’m 5’8” and play against 6’3” dudes, but I can grab double digit rebounds as a sophomore in HS. I run the point.
Any advice?
@@Jay-tx2wz | Mainly when you are boxing out a bigger guy, get your body lower to the ground and jump when the ball bounces off the rim. You’ll either get an over the back call on the other guy, or get the board 90% of the time.
@@thebreakdown8843 does it apply for people like same height
@@Jay-tx2wz | It can, you could probably just stay level with them and jump, as they are the same height.
Coach collin castellaw can you do your shooting form blueprint
Ty
That man looked so uncomfortable when you were holding the box out on him😂😂
well i got 24 pts and 20reb ,this will make grab 40 reb in one game
If you got 20 rebounds I don’t think u need this video lmao

Rebounding is so satisfying especially if you grab it with one hand and slap the ball on the way down
You have to want the ball more than anyone else
As someone who is short im good at boxing out but every time i go for the rebound i kinda get shook im going to get elbowed because it has happend to me. So i don't really jump high for my rebounds
I’m very conscious when I’m trying to get a rebound in traffic. I have this kind of trauma that I might step on someone’s foot before landing.
bullet proof your ankles and spraining ankles wont be a problem, watch pjfperformance
Same I'm afraid that I might hurt someone
You gotta stop being afraid people get hurt it’s fine that’s what they signed up for
I need some advice my body naturally makes me have a 2 motion shot and the thing is im 14 and i feel like that isnt right to have at my age is it ok to have? And if so how do i improve upon it?
I rebounded 5 times in under 20 secs and i felt a feeling that was so good i just wanted to become better at rebounding now im scrolling everywhere on the internet to become the best rebounder in my village
Coach can I send u a video about me shooting so tht u can help me fix it? Plssss I hope u reply
Rebounding is THE weakness in my game.
It’s not hard
@@Drippy_JDj oh man why didn't I think of that?!
same, i’m kinda short
@@Drippy_JDj I can shoot, and I have handles. It'S nOt HaRd. Can you do it?
@@Keepit100Dre yea
Can u do lamelo balls handles and workout
Would you get more rebounds if one player is one ones side of the hoop so that if the someone misses and it goes towards them, that player can get. And then another player is on the other side of the hoop so that if the someone shoots and misses and the ball starts going towards that same someone, the player already there would have a greater chance of getting the ball
I averaged 3 points a game and 8 rebounds in rec lol. Also 1 block a game. I didn’t get to shoot much though

Yo coach! What advice can you give if im overweight center with 130 pounds. Playing In post? Do I need to use more of my body in rebounding?
As an overweight guy you have to box out guys and not get into jumping competitions with guys you don't even need to be the guy that gets the ball just create an obstacle so that guys can't get near the ball and have your playmaker pick it up Steven Adams is great at doing this.
All of your shooting secrets coach collin castellaw make a video please
I'm only 5,11 but I've always been naturally gifted when it comes to snagging rebounds.
Same dude! Im weak in dribblings tho
5'11 is enough.
I'm 6'0 and im strong and dribble but in rebound 🤣
@@jamorant112 you should try do squats. It'll help you take a shorter time to jump higher (become more explosive)
@@alias1267 i walk like 8 miles everyday do you think that’ll help Jump more? Or should I still go to the gym?
I didnt by it but I just need that comfort and workout
subscribe again many thanks
when i jumped my ankle hurt after the gme how to jump correct?
Ur right about the fore arm thing but if you put your but on them there not gonna like that and if they try a get over it’s a over the back
Yeah you get way more leverage with your back because you can get low and control them with your legs, using your forearm isn't working on big men
4:10 ayoooooo
I am 5’11” and I can almost outrebound every 6+ft big men on the court, height cannot stop your mentality and dominance. Basketball is a game for all.
How to do I tho
@@sarsvfx You get in position first if you can. If you cant you have to get physical and predict the ball's position and jump up when the ball starts to fall. You should snag it with no problem if you guess it right, if its a little bit off your prediction and you cant grab the ball, tip it to your advantage.
How come when I look for a code to get $50 off the vktry insoles it doesn’t show up and still makes me pay the regular amount

Im tall and skinny but I’m scared to rebound its that when i rebound i only get the ball with only one hand and the other hand is protecting my stomach so the opponent’s elbow will not hit my stomach and when rebounding its also that i become weak that i cant jump high when i have opponent near me. How do i become aggressive?? Sorry for my bad english tho
