  • Camden, New Jersey is one of the most dangerous cities in the country. Home to some of the highest crime and poverty in The United States. Violent crime rates are 313% higher than the national average. Poverty level is an astounding 30% above the national average. Decent jobs are hard to come by, with unemployment being 65% above the national average. Median household income is around 28,000 dollars. Although the cost of living is slightly cheaper than most of New Jersey, you have to wonder if it's worth considering. Let's take a drive and see what some of it looks like at night.
This is a documentary for educational purposes. Check out my many other videos for even more cities around The United States.

It got a lot cleaner since I retired in 2000. I was a milk delivery diver years ago. The city crime was bad. I got my milk truck stolen while making a delivery. The police found the truck. All the milk was gone. Now I am living with my son in Dallas Texas.

Ok, I just came across this video and I’m glad I did. I was born and raised in Camden. I moved out of the city in ‘92. I worked there until I retired in ‘03. I still have family and friends that live there. Camden has changed over the years, but it’s getting better. I believe it’s seen it’s worse time, and can only improve. I still have so many fond memories, because it was like a small town to us that lived there. Everybody knew you, and/or your family. Outsiders can’t understand how even today if you hear a last name you can remember the family. We will travel from wherever to come back there to show support. And, as I said earlier many of us still have family members, and friends who still live there. I grew up in South Camden, and I know all of the areas shown in the video. I’m going to share this video with many others.

so many people on the street at night. Usually in videos from the USA there are almost no people on the street. I'm from Russia, hello everyone.

What’s so bad about folks walking around their neighborhoods on a warm summer night? I worked in Camden as a social worker for 40 years. Never had a problem with the residents; if anything, people were very respectful and friendly!

Honestly, It's not that bad even though it's cleaner. But it is still the worst part of New Jersey ever. I'm from Central Jersey, and it's much safer at night than it is up in Camden. Except for Manville though.

All I can say is that I'm glad I've never had to live in a major city! From what I've seen this is a common sight in most of our big cities! It's shameful what our great nation has become!

It's not bad. It looks like any northeastern American city. Just a American city that looks American. Looks better than Philly and any other southern American city, I would think
