BMW 640i xDrive Gran Turismo: Fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 7.4-7.2. CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 170-166.
The values of fuel consumptions, CO2 emissions and energy consumptions shown were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model. The values of the vehicles are already based on the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure the comparison between the vehicles. [With respect to these vehicles, for vehicle related taxes or other duties based (at least inter alia) on CO2-emissions the CO2 values may differ to the values stated here.] The CO2 efficiency specifications are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the European Regulation in its current version applicable. The values shown are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle for the classification. I have one. It’s replaced by the 8 series gran coupe. I think it’s how they justify it costing more than a 7 series.

The only reason they have 8 series instead of 6 now is to make its price higher than 7 series
@@noonenooo2843 true...and if they had made the new 6 look sporty-slick like the old 6, then it would've taken away sales from the 8. They didn't want 2 low profile sporty cars battling each other's share in the market. I really don't think they expect this car to make big sales numbers, just a car to fill the 6 slot

We usually recognise BMW through the angel light ... which was round till now. For me these front light does not represent the BMW which I could guess from half a km away. The light looks similar to many current released cars. I liked the tail lights and other things even the colour.

I agree. They’re straying away with everything except interior. Grills on the new m3 and 4 are deff bigger, angel halo lights are now looking like Kia stinger, the previous Avalon, VW. Can’t differentiate them anymore. And now the Hoffmeister kink is dissapearing. Tail lights kinda are straying too. Sad..

I can't get over it either. The circular BMW lights were the most iconic look among the industry for years, IMO. Unfortunately the industry has gone more angular in their designs over time, and BMW apparently decided their headlights being circular wouldn't fit with the rest of the changes to their cars.

I really hope that BMW would keep 6 GT for future as well, it's very underrated and my personal fav. If anyone from BMW is reading this, just give the customers of X5 and 5 series a complimentary test drive of 6 GT. It will help boost the sales for the 6. Maybe even launch a M6 GT.
Edit: Also Please add the following features in next gen or update- Night Vision, ADAS level 2, Recliner seats like in 7 series as E class also offers it. And keep the current gen gear selector.

This 6 series looks just like a generic new bmw with a 6 series badge on it...it has no attachment to the old one. Just the name

Loving this car. Does this mean that bmw is going to continue making this? I have a 5GT and it has been the best most reliable car I've ever known. Bought it new on 2013 and still have it. Not one issue yet.

It just looks like a bizarrely proportioned 5 series? I remember the 6 series as being a sleek, almost missile-shaped, grand touring coupe that stood out. This thing is way too tall compared to the previous 6 series. I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference from every other BMW if I saw this on the road. And why show it off in the GT trim? The GT trims have always been the ugly ducklings of BMW variants.
Yeah the BMW GTs look odd in comparison, but they are extremely practical and still very much 'drivers cars'. I actually think it's smart of BMW to build them.
Agree, rebranding the old 6 as the 8 and this as the new 6 (gt) now feels weird. Let's see if it can grow on the fans.
R-Type also they wanted to sell 6 series at greater price... particularly grater than that of 7 series that’s why it’s rebranded as 8 series now
They killed the awful 5 GT and named it 6 GT thus destroying an amazing statement piece in their line-up.

I'm a BMW fan but... this isn't an improvement over the 2018 GT to me. The rear actually looks more bulbous, and the headlights should retain some roundness, in my opinion. That said:
1) Chris is always outstanding. Good show, sir!
2) Frankly, Audi does fastbacks better.... BMW needs to step up the styling in that department.
3) Speaking of fastbacks.... the whole point of this car is the hatch. You didn't mention it or show it once!
4) What happened to the new BMW grill from the 3 series? I was hoping that brilliant, future-yet-retro design would be carried forward in other vehicles.
I know this isn't coming to the US but would a retrofit face-lift be possible cause this thing looks amazing

As someone who owns this car,
I can honestly say its one of the best car we ever owned
Massive interior space like that of a 7 series, tall seating position like a compact suv and a massive boot which managed to fit 3 28 inch suitcases and 3 cabin luggage along with 5 backpacks

It was a 5 GT. Now the ugly duckling is supposed to be 6-y😊, as a 6 GT. I own a 630i E63 LCI, which is a true sports coupe.
