I don’t think the Colorado is high enough really to have steps, but I keep my seat high and I have a bad right hip so stepping up with my left leg definitely helps.
If you lay directly under the step up you can get the first 2 bolts in while still holding it up by just putting a knee on it I watched the first 4 minutes and had it figured thank you by the way
Nerf bars are all pretty much the same to install. My 2022 Colorado Redline edition came with the same bars factory. I'll probably remove them and get some smaller ones or rock slider style like on the ZR2. Trucks looking good 👍 Now you just need a level and remove air dam !
I ended up removing these same exact side steps from my 2016 Colorado and opted for a black rectangular 6 inch wide step bars. The reason is that these OEM side steps as heavy duty as they are, do not protect the rear fenders from paint chips, its a factory design flaw. The rear fenders on any colorado will eventually end up damaged due to the front tires picking up the slightest gravel, sand etc. and damaging the paint..
@@StollNCrew yes, they are longer and wide. They help keep the truck cleaner and i don't have to worry about driving over loose gravel or off road. Its like having a large mud guard for the front tires...
Would it have been easier to put the brackets on the truck first? Then put the running boards on the brackets. Probably could have been a one man job. Good looking truck.
That is a possibility but the brackets came attached to the steps already. The correct way to do it with one person, which I missed, is to put the four (or at least 2) upper bolts on and hang the steps on those bolts because the upper bracket is open like a hook.
@@StollNCrew That's exactly what I noticed. If you could hang it from the open hooks on both ends then put all the other bolts in. I have a 2018 and will be ordering these very soon.
Well I have a ladder rack on the truck and we do construction all year round so I definitely use them all the time for strapping material down but they're not really needed if you're just driving the truck.
Hey 2 questions: 1) Same installation procedure on 2017 GMC CANYON? 2) i bought the steps without the bolts and clips. What are the bolt sizes and part number for the clips & bolt only if you have them. Thanks!
Honestly can't answer either of those. I'm sure it's the same or very similar for the Canyon but can't confirm. And I don't know the size or part #s. Sorry!
Hey can you have splash guards on your truck if you install these running boards? Saw a couple videos about installing splash guards that said if you have a certain type of running boards, they will not fit

I got the same model. Keep making the modifications! Excellent

Hope you're enjoying it!
I bought a 22 Colorado without running boards. I will be installing them myself. Thanks for the installation video!
Dude I could not figure out how the clips went in the frame. 😂. Thanks for the video. 😎🤙🤙🤙

It looks pretty good. I will be doing mine tonight. Lets hope I can do a finish Like yours. Thank for the video.

Gonna have to talk to the boss man about all that lol. This is a company truck so I'm not sure he'll want me doing too much to it.
I will try to install them by myself. Getting help is not as easy as installing them!
Hope you were able to get them on!

Interesting. I'll have to keep an eye on that. The other steps help block road debris from coming up better?

Rokblokz mud flaps fixed the problem of debris being slung on the side from the front tire of my 22 ZR2. Easy install and looks great!
I thought Rodrigo was going to say BANANA!
Very helpful, thanks.
Gave me the insentive iI needed to do it myself.
Awesome! Glad I could help!
Nice inspiration for mine
I would use some lock tight just in case.
That's probably a good idea! Ill have to get on that.

I was kinda of wondering that my self ,??or like I commented use a small floor jack center it and jack it up
@Stoll-N-Crew if you looked there are bolts from the bracket to the bar
Thank you for the is very helpful
Thank you! Basically I'm not the type of person that can do this so I'm going to ask my friend who's pretty vehicle handy to do the work
Hope you were able to get it done and the video helped!
How tight do you tighten can you over tighten .
I would had just used a small floor jack ,pu it under the bar and jack it up onto place
That's definitely an option!
Cuál es la medida de los tornillos ??
Never understood side steps for a truck that isn’t lifted don’t get wrong looks alright just why? When it’s not lifted

I do think they provide a bit of rock chip protection, too. And not sure about you guys, but I prefer small ladies :)😂
Does anyone knows if those will fit the2023 model?

They are from our local chevy dealer

That I am unsure of! I'm sure there's a way to make it work though
It will fit
No Locktite?
Nope, it's definitely an option. But we're about a year later and no issues so far!
Anti sieze would be my option. When these steps rust and rot in 5 years, I want them off without 5x the effort.
I wish you would have said which running boards they were because I can't find any of them with four brackets on each like that

I've wondered the same, most use 3, likely to be cheap.
What size sockets were used
10 and 13mm
Does this one fit a 2022 gmc canyon?
Most likely but can't 100% confirm
Thank you very helpful ❤️
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
Are the clips needed or can I just use the bolts?
Are you talking about the ones that slide in the hole? They're needed. They have the threads on them for the bolt to fasten to.
