I will never understand how we are now in 2024 and people still think it's a good idea to try to pull across 2 to 3 lanes of traffic knowing only the car in the first lane has stopped and they have no view of the other 2 lanes instead of just waiting for the cars to pass. People that do this for some reason think the car that has stopped to allow them to pull out is also going to give them a heads up about the other 2 lanes and yet it never happens.

I see it all the time. Light turns green and drivers have their eyes down on their phones. It is really annoying. Earlier this year, a driver in front of me was watching a video. Light turned green, then eventually red, and then back to green. Everyone was honking, and I was even knocking on his window thinking there was a medical emergency. Nope, he was watching Netflix. It was a one lane road with no way to get around him. Anyway, the cammer was most likely doing the same thing. It is easy to blame others and say that they are impatient, but the problem was the cammer.

It's one thing to be in the wrong when you're driving. It's another thing to be wrong and insist that you aren't. It's the reason all vehicles should be manufactured with dash cams. It's no longer the case that a camera in a car is a novelty, but a necessity on the roads today.
Though the idea is good, it's a massive privacy issue. There's enough things spying and leeching data off of people that I wouldn't trust a camera that the vehicle's manufacturer installed

If they're manufactored with them, then they are no longer tools for your protection but also spyware for the manufacturer. They'll sell all your normal locaton data, then they'll also send your video data without your consent.

Cammer probably should know... when his left arrow is green, so is cross traffics right turn arrow. In most places, traffic doing a U turn *must yield* to people making a right turn (like the guy cammer gets mad at probably had a green arrow too).

Those "diverging diamonds" are wack. I get what they are trying to do, but they are confusing enough that when they started rolling those out in Colorado there was a giant PR campaign to educate drivers on what was coming. It's kinda like roundabouts... once you know how they work, they can be fine. But all it takes is one person in 50 not grasping the concept to screw it up for everybody.

I have considered installing a train horn under my F-350 SuperDuty however; When driving that five-ton beast with road armor bumpers front and rear, rarely do the clueless screw with it. I leave the drop hitch in the receiver which is grill height of most of the wizzers being driven. When the key is turned on two of the six LED lights are activated so as to hopefully alert the impaired/distracted...

I take a two lane road on the way to work. I do 5 mph above the speed limit, if I get a tailgater I’ll give ten 30 seconds, then I’ll slow down 5mph, and continue to do so every 30 seconds.

@@zacharysherry2910 She had her signal on, which means the car was automatically showing a large view of the fender camera's feed on the center screen. Search up Tesla Blindspot camera. It is VERY difficult to miss once it pops up on the screen.

This intersection is at N. Union Blvd and Briargate Blvd in Colorado Springs. The cammer is headed north on Union and is making a U-turn to southbound Union and has a protected left turn green where a U-turn is legal. The blue KIA turning right onto southbound Union has a solid red and MUST yield TO ALL when making a right turn on a red.
The blue kia has a protected right turn.

That part of the road people are following their GPS to get on the exit ramp, so they see/hear "exit right in 1/2 mile" so they always try to get over and take that road instead of using their eyes to see its not an exit. There is always a brief moment where all signals are red so that anyone in the intersection can clear it before cross traffic is released. There is no way either the cyclist or skateboarder had a CROSS signal or green light yet.
Mostly true, some areas there are lights that immediately change without that pause where both directions have a red. Typically you'll see this at intersections where the cross traffic (or both) is really light.
I don't know about this one, but I was actually under a light once when it changed, cop was sitting the other direction and pulled me over for that. I told him it changed while I was under it and he said "I can give you a ticket for going through a yellow"
Not surprisingly I fought that one and was called the week before court and told I would not need to come in as the officer was no longer with the department. He was a bit of a prick IMO and maybe I wasn't the only one who thought that. But I always assumed he was more irritated by me because his light turned green while I was clearing the intersection.

End of last summer, I went to make a lane change. This little bitty car was in my blind spot, I drive a lifted pick up with blind spot monitors, the car was so small my blind spot monitors did not even pick him up. I went to change lanes, had my blinker on, did not know it was unsafe, he hit his horn I jerked it back to my lane and just about shat myself. Got to the next red light, he asked me what my problem was. I told him my problem is his little car was not picked up by my blind spot monitor nor did I see him. We both laughed and went about our day.

Depends on how Colorado law handles U-turns in this situation. If they don't address it, right on red still has to treat it as a stop sign and yield to all traffic including U-turns. Doesn't make the situation any safer or a smart move regardless.

I saw that too. The lanes didn't turn/shift enough to justify that much turn angle at the moment right before impact. Also, there is no way the truck driver DIDNT see the Tesla. I have a truck, and the only way you wouldn't notice them immediately is if the front bumpers were lined up. The Tesla was over a car length in front, which is plenty for the truck to see, I guarantee it. This was totally an avoidable accident just by braking a bit, but I suspect the cammer saw this is a pay-day and the typical "I have a dashcam" which apparently absolves them of any responsibility to try and avoid the accident.
Both should be at fault here. Tesla for the improper lane change and the cammer for not avoiding an easily avoidable accident. And insurance does apply a percentage of responsibility to drivers who do not attempt to avoid, at least in a very avoidable situation.
For the last one, It's not that they don't know how a red light works. It's that U turns are pretty rare. I'm in Canada. This happens all the time. When I U-turn, I always make sure there are no cars doing a right turn, just in case this exact scenario happens.
