Hi.😊😊 I have never met you, we will probably never meet. But you've found my comment, among all these thousands. If you are seeing this comment then take this as your sign that things will get better, that things will be alright, that you can get through this. Whatever troubles bring you here, or if you're simply here for the sake of relaxing, remember that you are important, you are valid, and that you have a right to be here. You are braver and stronger than you think. You're still here, trying to make things better and to live a better life. So whatever is keeping you up at night, it is not stronger than you. You can get through this. I don't know you, you can dismiss this as the meaningless words of a stranger, or you can believe me. Whatever you chose, I believe in you
Auntie LisaLisa, I just achieved my 5-year survivor mark. You are more than half-way there. Music has been an emotional touchstone on the journey. The Pachelbel Canon will also be a part of my funeral. Until God calls me home, I listen to the Canon because it both somber and joyful. May God bless and keep you.
I am 42 and when I was a little kid my Grandmother tought me how to play the piano and this was the frist song I learned she was truly a beautiful amazing woman who loved and touched so many people I played this song at her funeral
I just found out the other day that my son listens to this when he is stressed out and it calms him... What he didn't know is that while I was pregnant with him, I listen to this all the time, it is my favorite. I only just found out it is his favorite as well.
My mom got me a music box a few years before she died(I was 13) and I stopped listening to this song when I moved out. A few days ago my boyfriend gave me a statue called "the promise". It has a music box with this exact song and I burst into tears. I love this song. It means so much to me.
She had a lot of health problems. One was uterine cancer. She had to get an emergency hysterectomy and the doctors messed up. She got blood poisoning and her brain swelled up....she died on the way to the hospital and was in a coma for 3 days before we had to let her go....it got so bad that there was no way she was going to survive....on April 16th, 2021, it will have been 7 years and I still miss her so much...
This is one of the songs to be played at my funeral. Sounds morbid I know, but I’m battling stage 4 breast cancer and this is so beautiful. The piano tugs on my heart 💜
Hank Rutherford Hill Thank you 🙏🏼 that’s the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a very long time. A few setbacks but I’m still kicking. I appreciate your kindness 🌹
Over 300 years of never ending beauty. This is how I describe this great musical work.It was written in the early 1700's and Canon is a musical form which the theme repeat itself again and again and again.
It’s amazing how music has a way of touching feelings and connecting with every fiber of your being. It’s no wonder they used classical music in hospitals to help with illnesses
See, every modern artist _thinks_ that they can emulate the timeless repetition and variation that Pachelbel so perfectly beautifies in this piece, but they end up falling utterly short, and we end up with songs that have variations in words and maybe a bridge here or there, and get caught in our heads, but those songs will be forgotten probably by the end of the next decade. This has lasted the tests of time, the death of its composer, and being almost completely forgotten. And yet here it is, bringing tears to eyes and joy to hearts worldwide.
musicians now are only generally in it for the money. it's sad that something that was created to express ones self has been turned into a means to sate one's greed
Johann Pachelbel was close friends with Johann Ambrosius Bach and later was his son's, Johann Christoph Bach, teacher and was quite obviously a great influence to Christoph's younger brother Johann Sebastian Bach. Most of both great composers' music was with The Lord in mind in their works!
my grandpa died a long time ago and it was very sad because he has cancer so whenever i hear this song, its very heartbreaking💔💔💦💦💦😥. but this song still reminds me that no matter who you are you are still beautiful in your heart. and that you can change the future but not the past😉.
My Aunt was diagnosed with Cancer too. She passed away in 2021, one year later. My family, and cousins are upset. My parents were really upset. I said that she was a good, woman, aunt, sister, and friend. She and my uncle used to look after me, when I was just a baby to a little toddler. May She Rest in Peace 🕊️. My aunt was 55 when she passed away, and had a birthday coming up. She is in heaven 👼😇☁️🧙♂️ right now, and will be in My familie's hearts Forever.
I was alive during the year Canon in D was composed by Pachelbel. Today, I am delighted to listen to it together with the rest of the 21st century humanity. Timeless music. I was first introdused to this piece of music during my second or third year of piano lessons. I must admit that to a 6-7 year old boy this was more required repertoire than i really liked at the time. However, with time I grew to like classical music and this has been a favorite piece of mine for going on 90 decades. Pure harmony and peace.
GOD working through those embodied in that place in time and space with the mission to elevate all for all time to come to know that life lived in GOD can be as we hear here. JAK
This song is soooo beautiful I love it, it is also very relaxing and helps me to study and even though it repeats over and over again it never gets old. thanks so much for posting!! God Bless!!! ;)
I've been looking for this for five years now and I did not know the title, I just love it so much, it makes feel at peace with myself... It takes me places I've never been. I can't explain the emotions I go through when I listen to this...
I bought a record of George Winston's decades ago.. thus I was first introduced to this Canon in D. There are times I must hear this beautiful piece of music.
At different moments of life, whenever I listened to this masterpiece, I always felt touched--heart was filled with gentle feelings, peace, love, faith. This is the BEST version of "Canon in D". I want to have it played for my all important life moments including funeral. The music starts with a gentle note, and ends with a gentle note-----this long version repeats the cycle of starting and ending, reminding me of a true life cycle..... Very touch.
the first time i've heard this was when i was 5. my mom told me that i started crying back then but she don't even know the reason why. whenever it's my birthday, i'm always dreaming about a man holding my hand, and a white rose. i don't know him. honestly. it still haunts me, today, even though i'm 17, the excruciating pain is still here. i hope i can see you again.
Pachebel was Geman. When he was in his 10s, the war made him orphan. Wandering to England, he was adopted by a luthier who played piano in a church every day in a small village in the UK. After that, he listened to him every day and learned to play piano. In the town next to them, there is a girl named Barbara Gabler. She is rich and powerful. Barbara Gabler is also the most beautiful girl in town. Ever since she went to the church to listen to Pachelbel's music, she fell in love with him. Many wealthy people who came to propose to Barbara Gabler were rejected because Barbara Gabler only liked Pachelbel in his heart. But girls are relatively shy. Barbara Gabler, who has been spoiled since childhood, has never dared to confess to Pachelbel. Later, Barbara Gabler found a reason to go to Pachelbel to learn piano. She told Pachelbel that she loved music and hope You can learn art from a teacher. Pachelbel was very happy to accept this apprentice. But Barbara Gabler's purpose is not to play the piano, so she hardly spends her experience on the piano, and Pachelbel has repeatedly scolded her. Barbara Gabler felt wronged, but still followed Pachelbel, hoping that Pachelbel would understand what he wanted. Finally one day Pachelbel said to Barbara Gabler: "Go, you are really not suitable for playing piano. And you don't like piano." After listening, Barbara Gabler said to himself: "Don't say I can't! Pachelbel. I must go back. Play the piano well, I will get the first place in the local piano in half a year!" (A girl piano competition is held every year in the town.) For half a year, Barbara Gabler practised every day. When he was hungry, he asked the employer to send some food, and when he was sleepy, he would sleep on his stomach for a while. Half a year passed in a blink of an eye. Barbara Gabler participated in the competition and really won the prize. Barbara Gabler wanted to use this trophy to find Pachelbel and express her love to him, but when she went to find Pachelbel, Pachelbel was no longer there. At the time of the war, Pachelbel was conscripted to fight, and Barbara Gabler said, "Okay, I will wait for him to return." In this way, Barbara Gabler waited for Pachelbel for more than 3 years. During this time, the village chief’s son fell in love with Barbara Gabler. The village chief’s son knew that Barbara Gabler had a right to belong, so he asked someone to bring back a broken body from the front and said that It's Pachelbel. Pachelbel has no parents or relatives, no one can verify. Barbara Gabler believes that Pachelbel is really dead. He lay on the body of "Pachelbel" and cried for 3 days and 3 nights. At that time, the village chief’s son bought a lot of gifts to find Barbara Gabler proposed marriage, but Barbara Gabler ignored it. In the evening three days later, in the church where Pachelbel taught Barbara Gabler piano, Barbara Gabler committed suicide by cutting his wrist. In the six months since Barbara Gabler left, Pachelbel discovered that without Barbara Gabler by his side, he lost a lot and a lot of happiness. In fact, many things are lost in this way before he knows to treasure. After Barbara Gabler left, Pachelbel found out that she had loved Barbara Gabler unknowingly, but because she didn't work hard in learning the piano, she buried her love for her. At that time he was about to write a song as a gift to propose to Barbara Gabler, when he completed 1/3 of Canon. He was recruited to fight. In the chaos of war, his life was nine deaths many times. Whenever he felt uncomfortable, he would think of Barbara Gabler, and think of the days when he taught her to play the piano... That time is really worth remembering. He then completed the remaining 2/3 of Canon. Pachelbel returned to the village two months after Barbara Gabler committed suicide. After he learned the story of Barbara Gabler and all the things she had done for him from the villagers, he roared and cried loudly. He found Barbara Gabler's family and asked where she was buried now. Her family refused to tell Pachelbel. The following week, Pachelbel recruited all the people in their village and Barbara Gabler village. He sat at the piano and held back his tears. After playing Canon in D Major, he popped up. None of the people present did not cry.
What is said about this particular song helping with focus and being soothing at the same time is so very true. The piano version is the best and it helps me get more work completed more efficiently. Thank you for posting this version.
