@@tomhinklejr.5055I have a G3 and a couple G2'S, one of which is the pt111 G2 and I actually like it better than the newer G2, but these things will run dry, dirty or however. I shoot quite a lot and have no idea how many rounds I have through all of them and we've never had an issue with any of them. I trust these guns 100 percent and could care less what anybody thinks of them.

The only downside is that we hade problems with sighting it in for elevation, as there are no elevation adjustments on the rear sight like the G2C has. If Tauras were to put the same rear sight that the G2C has, we'd have a real winner.

The funny thing is, hundreds of these youtube gun buffs are turning their head to this pistol. They see the vids that guys are speaking so highly about this G3C , of course they test one and it makes a impression on them. Thats what I felt , I loved my Glock and S&W but of curiosity and with some pocket change, I bought one. Took it to the range, fired off about 200 rounds of shitty ammo. Not one ejection jam or misfire. I got used to the feel of it in my grip. I became to love the feel of the hand grip , how solid it feels, its a bit heavy on top end, but I used to have a nickel 380 as my self defense carry, was a bit heavy...If i plugged a dude with 9 rounds and he still kept coming, that Nickle frame pistol made a dang good knuckle duster. These are the things about a firearm I look for, I plug him full of lead an he still comes at me, could I bash his skull with my hand iron? So I like the fact that this 9 is a bit top heavy. I have the same reasoning with a defensive rifle...AR15 is what these weekend warriors prefer, looking at the countless GIs in the military branches. I was in the Army, qualified expert marksman on the AR platform, M16A2. Since I cant buy a civilian auto, I bought a M12, Semi Auto shotgun on a AR15 platform. I can take out a number of intruders at once with half the ammo of an full auto. My first Active duty tour ( Deployment to Kuwait) I had just my M16A2, after this experience, I managed to smuggle a full subdue black 12 gauge shotgun and my S&W 9mm , at that point in a fox hole, the top or Captain didnt say a word, their mind was on Bring it if you got it...I know military guys will say something to me, which i will retort with , They aint never been in an actual fire fight. In NAM, GIs managed to smuggle in all kinds of personal weapons' and firearms . When all shit breaks lose under fire mission, Geneva convention and NATO regulation kind of goes to shit. GI smuggle pistols in their duffle bag when being ordered to deploy, they dont xray your bag when they throw it on that C47. like at a public airport. Im almost positive your officer knows this too, yet he aint saying shit if he actually has some actual combat experience before. They may say all kinds of things before, like you will be in Leaven worth prison, get serious time, get thrown out of the military, yada yada yada, BUT when you are in a actual firefight..no one is saying a god damned word..... about what you had in your pocket. To the military dudes,,,does out of sight, out of mind..ring a bell?

Larger than the G2C, so it felt more comfortable than G2C. Id say it's make a nice nightstand and range pistol.

Picked up a G3 today. I am very happy with it. I picked it over another pistol based on this review. As always you were spot on. Now if Taurus would upgrade the G2C with the G3’s trigger, sights and a 15 round 2nd mag they would really be cookin’ with gas!

Durability and longevity is my concern. I have no doubt one could put thousands of rounds through a Glock, but will my Taurus guns? We shall see with time of course. So far, I love my GX4 and Tx-22. I think my GX4 will outlast my TX-22.

  • @tipsovr2626

I've got both the G3 and G3c. Both have been flawless for me. I only use 124 or 147gr ammo and have had zero issues with either gun. My only want from Taurus is a G3/G3c without a manual safety. At least the safety is pretty flush to the gun and isn't in the way at all. Say what you will about Taurus but these two guns (that I have) just keep on running and running. Two reliable handguns for under $500 is a win for anyone.
Those who are hating on Taurus today haven't handled current Taurus handguns. There is no question that past Taurus pistols had very questionable reliability. Today's Taurus pistols have excellent reliability without the higher cost of other similar handguns.

I think this is going to be a big winner for Taurus. They seem to have up'd their game in the past few years. Between the G2C, the TX22, and now the G3, they seem to have things going on! Everything I've bought from Taurus the last 7 years has been excellent. My wife and I both have the G2 and we have a couple G2Cs stashed away. She also carries their 38 revolver daily and it has been a great little gun for her as well. I didn't know that this G3 was a full size gun until I saw your review so now I'm going to go get one of these too. I know so people are down on Taurus but they really have stepped up their game and offer a great gun for people that before would have been stuck buying a high point 🤢.

Just a quick thank you for taking the time to make the comparisons with the G2c and the Ruger Security 9. It is amazing that we live in a time where these guns are so available and affordable.
I have the Ruger S9 and was going to buy the G2c but I found the S&W M&P 2.0 too good to pass up. It too was very affordable and gave me the option of a 17 round mag. Again thanks so much for doing these reviews. They are so very helpful.

After 500 rounds my G3 keeps getting smoother and better. Still no malfunctions in it of course. I have over 4000 rounds through G2Cs also with zero malfunctions.
Plus, I ran three mags from my TP9 SF through it flawlessly. Of course it won't work in reverse because the Canik grip is longer than the Taurus.
I blacked out the rear sight dots, drilled out the front dot and made my own "Big Dot" sight. So much better for my eyes. Oh and I also stippled the finger position pads. Great gun for $239!

Good review. Probably the best value on the market right now for a full size pistol. My one very minor critique about the gun is that I wish Taurus would use a more durable finish on the slide. I have a G2C as my EDC since it strikes that perfect balance in size and capacity. Upgraded to the steel guide rod from lakeline and next I'm going to put Truglo night sights on there. The factory parts worked just fine on mine but I wanted the extra durability of the steel rod.
