  • 手持ちのBoschの電動ドリルとドリルスタンド(amazonで買えるお手軽価格のもので、横に90度回転します)を利用して、まだ作っていなかったドラムサンダーを作製することにしました。
    ドリルスタンドの補助台(自作)に合体する形です。ドリルスタンド補助台の寸法は動画の最後に簡単に載せておきました。
    補助台が無くてもドラムサンダーとして動きますが、ドリルスタンドをちゃんと固定して下さいね。ドラムサンダーの足パッドの位置も変えた方が安定するでしょう。
    とにかくスタンドを利用するとドリルを乗せる台を作る手間を省けるのが利点です!
    次回はこのスタンドでディスクサンダー作る予定です!
    動画アップの後フレキシブルカップリングを頑丈なものに交換しました。

    I decided to use my Bosch electric drill and drill stand (a handy one you can buy at amazon, which rotates 90 degrees sideways) to make a drum sander that I hadn't made yet.
    It is a form that is combined with the auxiliary stand (self-made) of the drill stand. The dimensions of the drill stand auxiliary stand are briefly posted at the end of the video.
    It works as a drum sander without an auxiliary stand, but please fix the drill stand properly. You should also change the position of the foot pad of the drum sander.
    You may extend the base base to the main body and fix it to the stand main body base.
    Anyway, using a stand has the advantage of saving you the trouble of creating a table on which to put the drill!
    Next time, I plan to make a disc sander with this stand!

    サンドベーパーの必要な長さ計算(直径60mm 長さ360mmのドラムで斜めに巻いて行く場合)
    ドラムの円周は3.14x直径3.14x60=188.4mm(これが斜辺の長さになります)
    ドラム円柱の側面積は
    側面積=2×3.14×半径×長さ
    側面積=2x3.14x30x360=67824
    側面積は67824平方mm
    必要なサンドペーパーの長さ(長方形時)
    サンドペーパーの幅=100mm
    長さ=67824÷100=678.24mm
    直角三角形の底辺の長さを求める
    直角三角形の斜辺の角度は
    θ=sin-1(h/斜辺)
    θ=sin-1(100/188.4)
    θ=32.0585度
    三角形の底辺の長さは
    底辺=斜辺 cos θ
    底辺=188.4 cos 32.0585
    底辺=159.670mm
    最終的にサンドペーパーの必要な長さは
    678.24+159.670=837.91mm
    なので今回の場合は、幅100mmペーパーを838mmでカットし横に広げます。左下の始点から右に160mmより左上の角に向かってに墨入れ。右側も斜辺が平行になるようにして平行四辺形を作れば良いわけです。
    文章が下手で分からないですね(汗
    実際のドラムディスクの直径は微妙なのでペーパーを実際に巻き付けて長さを出した方がベターでしょう。
    Calculation of required length of sand vapor (when winding diagonally with a drum with a diameter of 60 mm and a length of 360 mm)
    The circumference of the drum
    3.14x diameter
    3.14x60 = 188.4mm (this is the length of the hypotenuse)
    The side area of the drum cylinder is
    Side area = 2 x 3.14 x radius x length
    Side area = 2x3.14x30x360 = 67824
    Side area is 67824 mm2
    Required sandpaper length (when rectangular)
    Sandpaper width = 100mm
    Length = 67824 ÷ 100 = 678.24mm
    Find the length of the Bottom of a right triangle
    The angle of the hypotenuse of a right triangle is
    θ = sin-1 (h / hypotenuse)
    θ = sin-1 (100 / 188.4)
    θ = 32.0585 degrees
    The length of the Bottom of the triangle is
    Bottom = hypotenuse cos θ
    Bottom = 188.4 cos 32.0585
    Bottom = 159.670mm
    Finally the required length of sandpaper
    678.24 + 159.670= 837.91mm
    So in this case, cut 100mm wide paper at 838mm and spread it horizontally. Ink from the starting point on the lower left to the right from 160 mm toward the upper left corner. You can make a parallelogram so that the hypotenuse is parallel on the right side as well.
    I'm not good at writing.sorry.....
    However, since the diameter of the disc of the actual cylinder is delicate, it would be better to actually wrap the paper to get the length.

    The sanding demo at the end of the video shows that the guide table has no detent and the sanding power wheel moves when sanding, which means that the sanded surfaces will not be the same. Locking the height adjustment doesn't take that much work. Otherwise, the idea is quite good, I also have something similar, only the whole structure is welded iron to make the machine strong and heavy.

    Wonderful project! I see a lot of DIY drum sanders here on CZcams powered by a drill but they all not use a flexible coupling. Do you think it is over engineerd or do you think it's nessesary when you use 2 bearings.

      Since the vibration becomes large due to the structure of the drum sander, I tried to adopt a flexible coupling.
      If there is no vibration, I think that flexible coupling is not always necessary.

    I have yet to find a corded drill with a cylindrical collar on the housing ... except for a 1/2 hammer drill.

They include a mount for a drill with a 38 or 42 mm collar. The few drills I found with a collar in the US had a 45 mm collar. I became frustrated and quit looking. Having checked today I see that they are very common ... however the ones I found all have 45-46 mm collars ... drat.
