You mentioned that some of the edges looked jagged and that you might be able to see the pixels but what did you think
I think it is a real and valid issue, but that it's not an insurmountable problem for smaller VR experiences. I'm imagining some little games like Face Raiders or WarioWare Snapped on the Switch could do well - but maybe not big open world games or FPSs. :) Thanks for the question!
How would the type of game have any effect on how pronounced the screen door effect is and if it's obvious that you're looking at a screen or not (i.e the ability to create a sense of immersion).
Like I said elsewhere I suspect your lack of a concrete description is because as a result of how the headset and/or video was set up you couldn't achieve a decent stereoscopic 3d image
Because the Switch's screen resolution is so much lower than similar VR solutions, I would imagine any production-ready experiences would need to rely on simple graphics to maintain a consistent level of immersion. That's where my examples came from. I would say, without a hardware revision, a game like Breath of the Wild in Switch VR would be near impossible, or at the very least pretty frustrating, because the level of detail is so low and game elements take up a fairly small amount of real estate on the screen at any given moment. If you have a tablet-sized VR headset at home, you can try the method described at home to see what I mean. :) For clarity, the 3D effect is perfectly fine, and comparable to something you would expect from a Gear VR and similar setups. If this wasn't a worthwhile test, I wouldn't have made the video. ;) Cheers!
What would you think about if Nintendo just made a separate headset for vr to fix this issue. like something similar to PlayStation vr, although it would be more expensive
I think that would be a very valid solution! There's a lot of speculation that a Switch VR headset could include its own high-density screen. My only reservation about that is that it makes the weight of the headset a harder problem to overcome. 🤔

Nintendrew hi there I really like your channel it's great I have a question to ask you if you don't mind I saw a video and you own zelda ocarina of time master quest n64 cart. Is there a difference between the one they put on the gamecube and that one also what did they change in master quest pretty much just the dungeons is it worth for me to spend money and get or just leave it what do you think.
Yes, it's identical to the gamecube game - just on a real N64 cart. The Master Quest includes redesigned, more challenging dungeons. Cheers! :)

That side by side is laid out for the left image to be seen by the left eye. If you were crossing your eyes to see it, things close up would be seen as farther away and vice versa.

This can actually work with the Labo VR!
Here's a "fun" fact, the first model switch is actually usable as a steamvr headset, what I did was attach the toycon 02 visor to the toycon 04 headset with 4 spare rubber bands and an extra strap over the top of the visor, then I hacked my switch to run android and installed IVRY on both my switch and my pc and driver4vr on my pc to use joycons as vr controllers. So long as the drivers are all working correctly it is a semi-viable vr setup, but it's not very comfortable, leaving a red mark on the ridge of the nose, because the rubber bands have just a little too much stretch to them, the framerate and resolution were bad enough to make me feel ill after only half an hour, the joycons and switch only have 2dof each, and suffer a level of drift that is actually visible if you stay still for a minute, text is completely unreadable, and then everything has to be started in exactly the right order, now, you can also use any other switch sized android devices, like my old kindle fire hd 6, but that can't run the latest version of IVRY, so isn't stable, is heavier, and isn't as novel as using a switch, which is really the whole point. As far as pricing, I got my switch for 300, each labo kit was around 50, each driver was around 5-20, the hacking tool was 20, with a micro sd that was 5, and the extras that I got for it like a face pad, extra labo pieces, a 360 kinect to pc adapter, and some proper lighting totalled an extra 50, meaning I spent a total of 500 dollars on it, only 100 on things that were only to make it work, though, and all for a vr setup that's less usable than the virtual boy! Completing a single song in beatsaber with that sort of setup is worthy of the highest praise, believe me. I only barely managed to beat a single one, being the one that basically embodies beatsaber in the first song pack, and the input delay and graphical resolution was so bad that when I tried on a poorly kept psvr it seemed so clear in resolution, despite the horribly smudged lenses, that I could actually read and I was moving nearly entire seconds too soon to actually hit the blocks. It was frustrating to make, it's annoying to set up, and it's painful to use, I do not recommend, even as a diy project that's not supposed to work very well.
I feel like Nintendo is trying to push towards vr, they obviously are doing things right. Also since the system is already a tablet all Nintendo needs is a headset to put it in, making it extremely affordable. Also your video was amazing, getting to the point, adding interesting little pieces of information, and not watering it down. Your attitude is always AMAZING in your videos! So please keep up the Amazing work :)

The PSVR is heavier than the Switch, that being said as long as the headset itself is light it should be fine
Dana Harvey, It used to be. Not it, and the Rift are nearly the same weight, just a little over 1 pound (412 grams to be exact). Now, the PSVR is the heaviest, coming in at 610 grams.
It should be lighter due to the fact that the joycons should be in your hand for VR LOZ!

If the switch had a better display (QHD Oled), it would be the PERFECT console! But mobile graphics still need to improve to make this resolutions possible on small devices, so maybe Nintendo's next console will be able to do this.

Vive and Switch owner here. I think it would be great if they did a few VR games on the switch. Make the headset nice and cheap.. Like 70 bucks or so. And bundle it with a few freebies "Like Vive and The Lab" as well as a youtube viewing app for it or even a VR video playing app that would let you use your own files. They could sell tons of them.. I mean.. The headset itself would just be some plastic and a couple lenses. Have an attachment point for one of the controllers so you can get it's gyro use while the other controller works like a Wiimote.
General Turd or have Valve software make Nintendo's VR set? I would love a port of Orange Box, Steam controller support, and a Portal themed VR setup tutorial.

I have the Switch and I am the Nintendo boy. However, Drew did not explain his own experience and how did it feel for him, which is exactly what was promised in the title. Effectively for me, this video was pointless.

It's probably because the title says "How well does it work?" but in the video he only shows his setup and then praises Nintendo for having better ideas than Sony and Microsoft instead of talking about how well VR on the Switch works.

The Switch does nothing than display that 3D image. If it comes down to actually rendering the Switch will fail.
