  • The much-awaited double-decker flyover in Bengaluru incorporates a metro-cum-road flyover stretching 3.13 km from Ragigudda to Central Silk Board.
    The ₹330-crore flyover has a four-lane stretch at a height of eight metres above the ground. And a metro corridor at a height of 16 metres above the ground.
    This is expected to decongest the heavily busy Silk board stretch.
    The flyover passes through three metro stations in the upcoming Yellow Line. The first station after Ragigudda would be the Jayadeva hospital junction. Here one can change to the metro's Pink Line, which would be complete in the near future.
    The second station would be the BTM Layout station. The last station to come would be Silk Board junction. At Silk Board, BMRCL has come up with three ramps. This will allow people to reach HSR layout, and Electronics city without stopping at signals.
    As the final construction works near completion, people are eagerly waiting for the opening of the flyover. The government, however, has not confirmed the exact date.

      @@ku5285 Don't compare Karnataka to Bihar. Bihar still has villages where there is no 100% electricity . In Karnataka even the remote parts has atleast few hours of electricity. This flyover will last atleast for few years even if starts developing problem the state government will atleast try to fix it.

    Flyovers always never are a long term solution unless used in continuity with other road designs .Otherwise we are just shifting the jam elsewhere. Needs to be backed up by SENSIBLE DRIVING and efficient traffic management. Bangalore drivers are among the least disciplined …

    • @aosaeanor
      @aosaeanor Před měsícem

      Exactly .
      Anyways, even on existing roads, traffic is badly managed with zero thought to exit & entry points to n from different roads + no thought given to alternative roads to create single lane vehicle movement instead of 2 way traffic

      @harshaokin8064 Před 25 dny

      first point I agree. look at Marathahalli and all. the traffic in the flyover itself is horrendous. but your next point I dont. Bangalore traffic isnt the least disciplined. Yes even I get frustrated. but compared to many north Indian cities, B'luru traffic is way better. not in terms of intensity. but in terms of sheer manners. I was horrified in a few cities. In Bangalore, I've had so many close calls and what not. But I find it predictable and somewhat "safe" lol. wrong word yes but what can i say. Anyways, efficient traffic management/funnelling is much needed in Bangalore

    Building more roads doesn't solve traffic ever! The more you build, the more number of cars will come!... The only solution is to ban cars, and build public transport infrastructure

      Short term. What's urgently required is decongesting B'lore . The 1996 Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor with 6 lane expressway was a great idea to extend the city towards Mysore.
      But Govt changed & as with most new Govt of a different Political party , there were endless reasons given for stalling the project .
      Loss of multiple millions to the State & country + Blore lost the opportunity of expanding outside its limits just when the Technology & Service sector was beginning to grow in the city in the 1990s
