    I got 200,000 in the first hour just messing around...
    look out for smuggling missions in your starter ship, and just dock quickly, avoid any interdictions, even if you do get caught, some have 100,000+ rewards...so a 5000 fine is not a problem really

    I purchased this game through Steam because I have an Scitec X-55 HOTAS. Both the game and HOTAS have steep learning curves but I think my testing of Star Citizen's Arena Commander has made this training fairly fast. My only recommendation is should you get your hands on any HOTAS is to take it off the desk and fasten to your armrests. Your hands will ache if you use your HOTAS on the desk. Only minor problem with Elite Dangerous is my nave points often drop out and I have to look left for resetting my navigation points. Not a good thing if you are about to get jumped by a pirate or pirate player.

    If you want to get rich. max out your cargo and begin trading as soon as you can. Preferably as soon as you can get your hands on a hauler. Than find a lucrative trade route near you using one of many trading websites dedicated to Elite Dangerous. Right now smuggling missions are very lucrative and not very hard but you'll need a ship with a long jump range. But this might be nerfed soon.

      Instead of hauling for $2k-5k, go to system Nav Points (when you jump into a new system and arrive at the star, there will be a Nav Point nearby) and lock on to every ship that comes in. Some will have WANTED tags. Kill them (easy, and AI ships help you) and get $10k-20k per kill. Just hang around there until you're on low health or earned enough to upgrade some stuff. You collect the bounties at any station in the system you killed them usually (in the contact tab of the station menu).
      Good luck!

      either that or resource extraction sites for pythons. gotta get those juicy 150k+ pirate booty bounties

    • @MrCabledawg45
      @MrCabledawg45 Před 8 lety

      +darrellkiely91 how do you attack when in Super cruise? I can spot them but can't attack. I started trading cuz I don't know how to mine and can't collect bounties. and I really don't know how to trade cuz it doesn't let me buy from the markets

    • @darrellkiely91
      @darrellkiely91 Před 8 lety

      +MrCabledawg45 To attack people in supercruise you need a special part for your ship. Don't bother with that kind of thing when you're starting out though.
      Instead of looking for ships flying around a system, go to the 'Nav Beacon' located at the star you arrive at when you jump between systems.
      Exit super cruise at the nav beacon and lots of ships will come and go. You can kill any wanted ships there to rack up some bounties. Then you cash the bounties in at the nearest space station in that same system.

    Great video, really informative to those of us who just bought this game off steam. I had no idea I could upgrade the sidewinder to 10t that quickly, I've been doing 4t missions for a while now and I have about 12k so far but really didn't have a clue about the outfitters thing.

      I think the issue I'm having is probably due to not being experienced enough which is an odd conundrum. I can't play for long to get more experience to be more comfortable to play for long...go figure.

    I know its been long time for this video, but the best way to make quick money at the beginning is chasing pirates mission. As your ship doesn't cost anything, and you can get used with your keys in combat... The hauling is really long process compared to bounties where you can get 60K on your 1st mission (bounty + mission credits) with your stock ship.

      @CommanderChaosWulff  Před 9 lety

      Aye, they are a good way to get money though they aren't always available and require you to sacrifice a goat to the gods of USS RNG... I prefer the guaranteed paycheck of the courier missions as I found them to be faster overall. That's just my preference though. :)

  • @RSProduxx
    @RSProduxx Před 8 lety +1

    best method for me so far: get to a nav-beacon (near a system´s sun) and just look around...there are lot´s of ships... wait until you see some fighting, look for a "WANTED" one being involved and help killing it... do that a few times and go to a station to cash-in... repeat... i made 200k with little effort that way...
    important:it´s not adviced to just shoot randomly at a wanted one who is not involved in a fight already...might be the case he has friends ...

    So uh, this game came out first. Right. Oh Kay. Then, a year or so later, the developers who made No Man Sky, decided to add a first person exploration type game, WHICH, you can ride your ship almost anywhere you want, right? Wow. So they took a few ideas from this game and claim NMS is like no other. Hmm. Right? This game though, seems challenging (which I like), and more interesting then going out and buying a NMS and a ps4. I might buy this game soon. All of what I said, is my own opinion and i could be wrong.

    Those can be extremely lucrative at the beginning as you get credits for claiming bounties as well as for completing the mission.

    • @CommanderChaosWulff
      @CommanderChaosWulff  Před 9 lety

      You are correct sir.. .I didn't mention them as I was guessing most new players wouldn't want to try combat so early on in the game.

    • @NaarghultheShadow
      @NaarghultheShadow Před 9 lety

      Commander ChaosWulff Just as a disclaimer, I don't actually own the game yet. Unfortunately I can't buy the damn thing because I don't have a credit card and prepaid cards don't seem to work with international transactions (I'm from the U.S.) I can't buy 100% sure about this, though - I have had success buying stuff internationally with American Express cards, and I'll be trying that next. If not, oh well, I have a pair of gift cards I can spend whenever.
      That being said, combat is likely how I'll be making my money to start with, and looking at how these pirate missions. I already have goals in mind when I play; I plan on getting myself a Cobra, fully kit it out for a combination of bounty hunting and exploration. I will likely buy a second Cobra to do mining and trading in. I don't like what I'm reading about the Asp in relation to its high maintenance costs, so until I have a big cash balance I'm not touching anything larger than the Cobras.
      I do want to do some good ol' space tourism though. Flying to stars like Rigel or exploring the Pleiades star cluster, or grasping the sheer magnitude in size of stars like Betelgeuse and Antares. Perhaps going into these stellar forge nebulae and seeing all the combinations of stars.
      I've wanted to do this kind of stuff since I was in grade school, and this game gives me a tool to do it. Unfortunately, Frontier Developments are a UK company and it's enormously difficult for those of us in America to pick the game up if we don't have credit cards. It's why I was absolutely crushed when I heard the game was not going on Steam.

    • @CommanderChaosWulff
      @CommanderChaosWulff  Před 9 lety

      Damn... That sucks dude... I'll be honest I have no idea how you would go about buying the game from America... I myself live in Norway and have had no issues with purchasing the game but that may be to do with me still being in Europe... But I wish you well with getting the game.
      As to your plans: I like them... I myself wasn't brave enough to start off in combat and began my career as space crap-out lugging cargo until I had enough capital to start mining.
      From personal experience I would recommend trying out the Viper for combat as its shields are far superior to those of the Cobras and it can be fully upgraded for around 3 million as opposed to the Cobra's 5-ish million (not 100% sure on exact numbers but it's a lot more than the Viper)
      I wish you well in the void and perhaps I'll see you out there!

      thegr8rambino RES area's NPC wanted bountyhunting. My record is 500k under 20min. Watch out for your firing and scan all before firing. There is normaly tons of cops who will assist you kill bigger ships like Anaconda or anything which is wanted. (1k from smallers (harmless sidewinder) and up to 250k (master anaconda). elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Bounty_Hunter its bit boring because they wont give you much danger to die them (sometimes if NPC is in wing, they all start to attack you if they arent already taken another player / police, its bit problematic sometimes).
