Door not locking or unlocking troubleshooting. Freightliner cascdia

Truck came in with the complaint of door not locking or unlocking this is how we troubleshoot find and repair. Also make the magic happen

That linkage pops out usually when someone, that doesn't know what his doing, puts a slim Jim down the door to unlock it. I'm a professional locksmith and I work on those trucks.

Hey, my passenger door only locks with the key. When I push the lock down by hand it opens right up from the outside. What could the issue be, thanks

Great question, that would be due to a safety parameter in place. A lot of people end up locking there keys inside so this is the safety plan in place. Param can be disabled if you like.

That’s what she said…… try a lil wd40 on your key and work it though the positions.

@@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228 😆😆 Yes I should have explained more. The issue is not in the key or the lock. It seems to be maybe in the electric part of the lock. I'm gonna have to have to take the door apart. But thank you so much for your reply, I appreciate it

Mine didn’t came with the power door lock on the switch bro I want to install them should they just drop n connect or do they need to be programmed thank you in advance

Great question. This is a lost cause because it will be very costly to have the wiring run and the modules installed than programmed. Not even worth the trouble.

hey new subscriber here really like your channel I was hoping you could answer a question in mind the very top walking gym thing that comes to the door do you unlock and lock the door with the pops up and down how do you take that top piece off so you can replace it with something you know fancy ? Thanks I. Advance

Thanks for the sub and reaching out. I believe that piece that pops up doesn’t separate from the rod. Atleast it shouldt separate. They might make something that slides over it if you were trying to fancy it up.
