Various types of admixtures are used in concrete to enhance the performance of concrete. Concrete admixture is defined as the material other than the aggregate, water and cement added to the concrete.
Types of admixtures used in concrete
Accelerator
Retarder
Water reducer
Pozzolonic admixtures
Air entraining concrete
Types of Concrete Admixtures
Concrete admixtures are of different types and they are as follows:
1. Accelerator :-
commonly used admixtures are calcium formate , silica fume ,calcium chloride ( commonly used)
2. Retarder :-
commonly used admixtures are Gypsum , starch , sugar , salts of acids ( up to 0.06 % retarder)
3. Water reducer:-
Plasticizer , Super plasticizer etc
4. Pozzolonic admixtures:-
Naturally occurring Pozzolanic materials are clay, shale, volcanic tuffs, pumicite, etc. and artificial pozzolans available are fly ash, silica fume, blast furnace slag, rice husk ash, surkhi etc
5. Air entraining concrete:-
Vinsol resin, darex , Teepol

Chemical used in plasticizers - Citrates, Benzoates, Ortho-phthalates, Terephthalates, Adipates, Azelates, Sebacates, and Trimmellitates.

In case if plasticizers the explanation was wrong. Corrected as following:
Plasticizer(low range water reducers): reduces the mixing water up to 10%.
Medium plasticizer (medium range water reducers): reduces the water up to 15%.
Super plasticizers(high range water reducers): reduces the water upto 25%.

Hello sir. I have a GRC factory. My one piece size is 1.2 meter and thickness 3cm. I use white cement , gypsum , sand and water. What chemical should i use set my Precast and is finalized quickly. Matlab mera ek grc piece takes arounf 20 hrs to finalize . Toh mein kaise usse 4-6 hrs mein finalize kr sakta hoo
