- Figured no limit is possible but silly me I failed to notice that the legs are targetable in the last phase; could have pressured and staggered this old fart if I had and dispatched him without limit lol.

This battle is for some reason the toughest thing I've done in Hard Mode so far. None of the other bosses in chapters 1-6 or in chapter 12 even come close. The Fury status is a death sentence and his attack patterns are so crazy to pin down. Took me like 20 attempts to do it with a full party without anyone getting KOed and needing healing, and it still required a couple Barriers. His attacks are just pure madness.
Good job getting this one done so easily!
Interesting we struggle with different boss battles
@cloudcs I had no issues at all with Jenova, Mythril Golem etc but Palmer can kiss my ass lol
I immediately did it first go by using Resist + Magnify to prevent Fury status, and that allowed my AI teammates to actually survive ONE hit. Before that, they were dropping dead from full health due to Eradication Beam or him FALLING ON TOP OF THEM. I think they might've overtuned the damage on this one, because man. Being at near full health at the start of phase 2 and then watching everyone die to a single blow 3 seconds into phase 2 was the dumbest crap. I wonder if Dispel works on his buffs? Might practice this battle to restore my pride and lab that.
Palmer is officially the most powerful Shinra employee. The Turks and Rufus can eat their heart out, this fat man in a mech suit has achieved parity with the gods. I guess that would explain the music.
Thanks to you, I now know that counterstance has a parry window. Hot damn.
Good job! This guy's annoying to do without getting hit, especially when he flips over.
I've been wondering this for a while; How often do you play other characters? I know sometimes you're forced to by the story (Such as the Dyne fight before this), but how often do you play them on your own accord? Excellent run by the way.
The only character that I often play on my own accord other than Cloud is Tifa. I don't really like using anyone else outside these 2 and I tend to stick with them for vast majority of the game unless if the game forced me to use someone else at specific point of the game. 7 characters are too much time and effort to master so I just focused on my main MVP which are Cloud and Tifa
Am I tripping or did he just give up cuz he just stops doing anything and started throwing a tantrum?
I am not sure why he stops doing anything after I hit him with my limit lol
@@cloudcs I guess he did you a favor and made it even easier for you lol!! What were you thinking as he stood there?!
I was anticipating a counter from him but to my surprise he did nothing lol
@@cloudcs yea I noticed you dodged a few times before just going ham on him. Good stuff bro.
Perfect parry this BOSS look like a big pain because his weird timing and weird attack animation
Ya this old fart caught me out a few times but you will eventually learn his attack timing and animation after many retries
How do you solo and turn the team into frogs?
I pop enfeeblement ring on the rest of the team including those participating in battle from the backline. You can acquire the accessory from the frog minigame in Junon after completing the Calling All Frogs sidequest
@@cloudcs what's the point of starting a battle turned into a frog? I mean in a normal gameplay
It's for a solo run. Toad characters do negligible damage so they hardly can make a dent on bosses, technically forcing you to rely on a single character
@@cloudcs yeah in your case i understand the purpose. I was just wondering if there's another reason for people playing normally
For normal gameplay I don't see any reason to
