- Today, history was made as Legend of Steam Locomotive 3801 crossed the Sydney Harbour Bridge for the very first time.
A big thank you to the hundreds of Sydneysiders who came out to see this historic moment.

3801 is my second favourite steam train and when I grow up I want to be a volenteer for steam engines.
i can't wait for 3801 80th birthday next year and im pretty sure that moment will be remembered for years to come
To all of those who've worked so hard and contributed towards making this iconic event happen......a huge thank you!

Amazing work getting 3801 over the harbour bridge! I got some great shots!
That is a big, beautiful engine. Lovely green.
such a beautiful moment quite the shame that i missed it
Fantastic sight, but I wish we had sound instead of music.
What a great experience. Thanks for all the hard work organising it Ajay and I so happy to have experienced it 👏👏🚂🚂
Since the Steam Era.
Wow, didn't know this was happening. Must have been smoky in the underground!
The two generations!❤
Put 3801 on the Kiama picnic train
Or better yet put 3801 on the cockatoo run now that would be cool
My Paternal Great Grandfather was an Engine Smith who worked at Clyde. I don't know for certain if he worked on this Engine, but I like to think that he did. does anyone out there know if or how I can find out this information? His name was Hugh Nelson Lindsay
Steamy train-on-bridge action.
When you say for the first time ... do you mean ever ? You mean a 38 series never crossed the bridge ? Great views of her on the bridge, I cannot wait until next month I am flying down for the Newcastle Flyer !
Such an historic moment celebrated by such a short video, come on railfans have very long attention spans.
