    This was a wonderful video and I agree with those who said that it was far better than the factory information. What I need now is information on how to program the remote control so it recognizes the reprogrammed keypad. There are so many remotes that it is difficult to figure to sort it all out.

      Thank you for the kind words. I’m not an expert but based on what I’ve seen, I don’t believe you can program a remote using the keypad. Programming a remote normally just involves setting the DIP switches in the remote and using the learn button inside the opener control board. Any additional remotes should be able to be programmed using the existing remote’s DIP switch settings. Hope this helps! Thanks again for the comment and thanks for watching!

    Well Done! Best I've seen! If you want to expand on this you might consider this for the next video. I replaced my a shot unit with a new one but retained to key pads and portable remotes. The new portable remote works with the new unit but the older (6 months) don't work even the the dip switches have been all been reset the same. If I program one remote at a time, any will work. Its like the control board can only see one individual pad or remote. But thanks for the detailed video. I was looking for some way to solve my issue and while it didn't I really liked it. Keep up the good work!

    Awesome. Now I know how to program someone else's gate opener. I'm assuming you have to set matching codes on both keypads? Surely they don't communicate with each other.

    • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před 5 lety

      Yeah, each keypad has to be programmed separately; they don’t communicate with one another. I guess you could do different codes for different keypads but I have a hard enough time remembering one code. You can put a sensor on the inside so the gate automatically opens when you’re driving out but it’s more expensive than the keypad kit and i figured my tractor and lawnmower would open it every time I drove by.

      You might do a factory reset by taking the back cover off the keypad. You can take the cover off by removing 2 screws in the bottom of the keypad. Then find the reset button above the batteries, then press and hold the reset button for 2 to 3 seconds. Then you can enter a new master code and re-program the keypad to the opener using the remote.

    Does this mighty mule include a “party code” where you can set a code so that gate remains open?

    • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před 9 měsíci

      Not a code that I’m aware of but on this model, you can set the controller to stay open until you close it, rather than closing automatically so many seconds after opening. I prefer to have mine close automatically but when I do need it to stay open, I let it open completely, then turn the opener off at the unit so that the gate stays open. When I’m ready for it to close, I simply switch the opener back on at the unit and it closes on its own. Hope this helps - thanks for watching!

    • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před 3 lety

      The only thing I can think is that sometimes mine doesn’t seem to recognize the first keystroke so when you’ve entered the code, the keypad doesn’t think it’s correct. So most of the time, I’ll hit a button (any button) just to make sure the keypad is “awake” then I’ll enter the code. I’m not sure if that will help your situation but you might give it a try. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před 2 lety +1

      A Mighty Mule keypad should work with any Mighty Mule opener. If the old keypad has been paired with another opener, you will first need to completely reset the keypad. There should be a reset button in the back of the keypad where the batteries go.
      Then follow the instructions on my video for setting the new master code and learning the transmit code. You will need the remote from the new opener to do this. Good luck!

    • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před 2 lety

      I would make sure your opener is set up to close via the remote/keypad. I think the default setting is for the opener to close automatically after a delay. Even if the opener is set up this way, the remote will probably still close the gate when you push the button but the keypad might not. My gate is set to close itself after a 45-second delay so I’m not as experienced operating it the other way. This is just a guess but I hope it helps!

    How do you change the master code after a while using it ?

    • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před rokem

      If you know the current master code, you would go through the steps in the video that start at 4:20. If you don't know or remember the master code, you can reset the keypad back to factory settings by taking the keypad out of the housing and pressing the reset switch on the back of the unit. This will require the keypad to have to "learn" the transmit code given by the remote control button. This process can be found at 7:02 in this video. Once that is done, you will go to 4:20 in the video to set a new master code from the factory default, which I believe is 1234. Hope that helps - thanks for watching!

    • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před 3 lety

      There’s 2 ways you can do it: open the gate with the remote or the keypad, then turn the unit off with the switch when it’s in the open position. Then when you’re ready to close it, turn the unit back on and it will close automatically. I do this frequently. The other way is to use the dial on the control board inside the unit. You turn the “delay” dial all the way to “off” which means you’ll have to use the remote or keypad to open AND close the gate. I think the first method is easier, especially if you are just doing it temporarily on an occasional basis. I hope this helps. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching! • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před 3 lety

      As long as your remote has good batteries, it should still work to open the gate. You might check the DIP switches in the remote to make sure they still match the ones in your opener’s control module. There is also a master reset in the back of the keypad so that you can start over with the programming. Hope that helps!

      The reset button should be on the back of the keypad unit. It will reset the unit to the factory default master code which is 1234.

      @JeremyTVOK  Před 4 lety +1

      In doing a quick search online, it looks like cars with the HomeLink openers should operate Mighty Mule openers but I did not see a step by step instruction for it. My guess is that most of the openers in cars can be programmed to open the MM. I know for sure, however, that a MM remote will not work with my newer garage door opener. I bought a 3 button MM remote for my daughter’s car thinking she could use it for the garage door as well but it would not work.

      The book just says to turn off the gate opener during the learn process with the remote “so there is no unintended operation of the gate.” I’m not sure that means you HAVE to turn it off, probably that they just recommend it. I’m not 100% sure but I think I left the opener on for the remainder of the programming steps.

      If you’re using the keypad wirelessly, I believe you’ll have to have a remote; however, if you plan to hard-wire the keypad to the opener, I think you can use the factory reset button on the back of the keypad and program without a remote. You can purchase a remote for around $20 from Tractor Supply.

    • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před 4 lety +1

      In the back of the keypad with the batteries, there should be a reset button. The instruction manual says to press and hold this button for 2 seconds, which will reset the keypad to factor settings (with 1234 as the master code, which will then allow you to program it using the instructions in my video). I'm assuming you'll have to do the reset with the batteries in but I can't say for sure, as I've never had to do a factory reset. Good luck!

    • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před 4 lety +2

      You’re very welcome! I’m glad it helped you. Leaving the gate open is an option inside the control box of the opener. On mine, I believe it is a dial for the auto-close time. You would turn that dial to “off” so that the gate doesn’t auto-close. Then you would have to close by remote or keypad. Hope that helps - thanks for watching!

    • @JeremyTVOK

      On the MM360, there is a delay dial on the control board inside the opener unit. That dial can be set from zero (requires you to push the button to close the gate) up to about 90 seconds delay. Hope that info helps. Thanks for watching!

    • @JeremyTVOK

      Karen Hansen you can reset the keypad back to factory by accessing the back of the keypad, then pressing and holding the reset button for 2 to 3 seconds. This resets it back to factory default.
      I believe you can only program the keypad by using a working remote control. These can be purchased at Tractor Supply for around $20 and can be set for any code to match the code on the opener. Hi Jeremy! Do you know how to remove a remote from the gate opener?

    • @JeremyTVOK
      @JeremyTVOK  Před 4 lety

      It should be just as simple as changing the pins inside the remote so that they no longer match the pins inside your gate opener control panel. That way it will no longer activate your gate opener. Or, you can change the code in your control panel and any remotes still in your possession, so that that code no longer matches the remote you’re trying to remove. I hope that helps!
