I'm glad you said that about cutting in the timeline rather than the preview. I find the same is for me

The interview edit is brilliant especially in training, for job interviews, or other types of interview training

I’ll have a good look at this to see if it improves my own interviews.

Thanks! The color coding the clips is a great idea I didn't even realize was an option. That will be super helpful.

👍🏻 As always: great advice for practice (and even valuable for many other types of edit projects).
Very well explained: the creation of structured groups of clips BEFORE you even start the actual narrative editing process.
I'm excited! My next project will definitely be an eye-catcher 😉.

All I want to do is 1 mark begin point of some segment, 2 mark end point, 3 delete. Why is it I pay $30 for this app and removing bad parts of my video is like a goddam sacred mystery. I don't think in terms of "clips" and "trim". I have a video on my phone and just want to remove the bad parts. HOW? 2:00 on is clear as mud. How does it know the beginning and end points of the "sections" in advance? If only Lexis would do video not just audio, because they know how to design a user interface on a phone.

Hi there, and thank you for the feedback. Reading this it's not perfectly clear to me what you're describing, but I believe the functionality you're looking for can be done in LumaFusion. Please get ahold of our Support team so we can be certain we're seeing what you're saying, and I'd be surprised if we couldn't outline a usable workflow for you.

In the video at 2:00, Caroline is looking at the waveforms for the audio, which show clearly the 'sections' where the subject is talking steadily, and where there's a pause--this is not automatic, but is a quick way to move through an edit where you know you're taking out the non-talking bits.
