There is a LOT more villains in the Arkham universe aswell. I really wanted to see Maxie Zeus or Killer moth in screen, but nothing to this moment

There's an Arkham Story in Arkham City that implies the Ratcatcher was killed by Penguin before the events of the game, so it makes sense this would be set before that.

The Arkham Origins comics feature an appearance by Rat-catcher. He shows up in a bad choice that ends with Batman getting torn alive by a thousand rats.
@@dylansharp8471 The tie in comics aren't canon and directly contradict the games they are supposed to tie into. Like how Bane is killed in the Arkham Knight comics, but in the game it's explained he finally kicked his addictions and is fighting drug cartels in Santa Prisca.
Hopefully this is an indication that WB is not giving up on the Arkham series

We should have HAD THIS already! THats what Gotham Knights should have just been. Scrap the whole thing and make it Arkham Origins 2 but INCLUDE the Co-op (Expand on the Multiple Characters and Dual Play for Single Player) and the Citizens and evolve the Arkham Origins / Arkham Knight Gameplay TOGETHER with stuff from other game franchises (Spider Man, LA Noire, Midnight Club, etc)

Had a mini heart attack when I saw this on my feed. My adrenaline spiked. All signs point to it being an Origins sequel with Roger Craig Smith returning, featuring Ratcatcher as the main villain. And then...its a VR game for a 500 dollar headset. It probably won't be longer than 2 hours. It's so frustrating. It's like they know what we want, but they are so insistent on not giving it to us. I guess I'll enjoy watching the storyline on this channel.
It was most likely given a lot of money by meta to make it, kinda like how Angry Birds did an exclusive game on Apple Arcade that was sponsered by apple.
Also it'll most likely be longer since the last VR Arkham game was in 2015 and that was an hour or two, with the new technology it'll probably be a lot longer.

People gotta get off this "VR is bad" crap. Quest 3 is a solid device, sold as game console in the console sections of every major retailer. All taditional consoles have exclusives, but when Quest starts getting Bigger AAA IPs for exclusives, all the console players rage and melt... just look at the IGN trailer, it's absolutely disgusting.. I even saw people saying they want to assault Quest users and then the death threats to WB.. like what the actual fuck?...
@@smittyvanjagermanjenson182 I don't disagree. I have no issue with an Arkham game being made for VR - Arkham VR was awesome! My issue is with the timing of it. At a point where it feels like WB just killed the Arkhamverse, along with literally the main character, it seems a bit tone-deaf to then announce a game with all the elements fan had hoped for, yet they make it so only .5% of Arkham fans will be able to enjoy it. When we want to see WB put their time, money, and talent into a proper sequel to AO, they show us that they're still only interested in making games that will sell on gimmick. I'm not saying VR is a gimmick, mind you, but I guarantee this game will sell only on the gimmick of being Batman in VR, rather than on its quality as a game.
Roger Craig Smith did good as Batman in Arkham Origins and wouldn't mind him voicing the dark knight again

This game should at least come to other Vr headsets and not just The Oculus Quest. I'm actually happy that the developers behind Iron Man VR is working on this game, because Iron Man was great!
Possibly it could come to PS vr2 and pc VR as meta sometimes releases their own stuff to other platforms

the studio is owned by meta I think so it's very unlikely that it would release on other headsets
@@Hybrid225 Since when did Meta release an exclusive to other platforms exactly? Lone Echo and Asgard's Wrath both came out years ago and both are still exclusive to Oculus/Meta headsets. The only stuff that went to PSVR and PCVR was things like Beat Sabre because Meta didn't buy them until after the game was already out.
Same with Iron Man VR, developed by Camoflaj, who are also the devs on Batman Arkham Shadow. But since Iron Man VR came out on PSVR, they were acquired by Meta in 2022 and are now a 1st party Meta studio.
It takes place after Arkham Origins. Harley’s still working at Black Gate/ Just became Harley Quinn. Harvey hasn’t become Two-Face yet. Batman looks younger, suit looks closer to Origins.

Rat catcher has actually had a pretty interesting story in the Arkham universe, although we never see him it talks about how he was mauled by penguins shark tiny, and like scarecrow, survived after that he was killed by Jason Todd before the events of Arkham knight

I would be completely content with DLC for Arkham Knight engine. With a restored/normally running Gotham City, where each DLC costs $10-20 and one of the rogue's gallery is doing something around Gotham. We need to investigate, figure out who is doing what and where, and stop them (while also stopping other random crimes and such). Basically a Batman: The Animated Series simulator.

So glad to see this is an Origins game. Knight’s ending is perfect and never needed a sequel, but there’s still eight years of stories to tell between Origins and Asylum.
That's why I always thought multiple games set between Origins and Asylum should have been made after Knight, to fill in the gaps between Origins and Asylum.

Reminds me of the Arkham Origins choose your own adventure comic where a dead end chapter actually had Batman meet Ratcatcher, and was killed by him because the rats were mutated to have a toxin in their saliva
I saw that comic a long time ago and when I saw what happened to batman when he got jumped by those rats it was a pretty brutal death.
Hopefully this is to test interest in or even tease a full console Arkham game post-origins

There’s so much they could do in the Arkhamverse with Batman. Even if we take Arkham Knight as the end (a hard pill to swallow) then there’s a 10 yr period and a massive rogues gallery to exploit. We even have a Gotham that has many reference points that can be refurbished or run down depending on the timing. If WB put me in charge of the Arkhamverse games I’d have a stroke with joy!

This is actually great. The void between origins and asylum is a VERY interesting unexplored part of arkham batmans carreer. And having ratcatcher (a minor unique villain) as the main antagonist looks awesome and like some fresh air. If the excution is good, this can be very interesting. Makes me hyped against a game about arkham batman vs killer moth.

They are short length games, you'll probably only fight some criminals with your hands instead of throwing a batarang or a smoke bomb AT BEST, 80% roaming around and 20% "fighting". They could've easily made another Arkham Batman game like the previous having ratcatcher as the main villain, making some villains return (Bane, Deathstroke, maybe even Solomon Grundy since they can add some BS to the story and make a reason for him to return). You'd be lying to yourself if you'd say you wouldn't want an Arkham Batman game like the previous ones rather than Batman's hands simulator.

Based on the title and the visuals, I was assuming after Knight.
Also, his suit looks armored, in a way I associate more with City/Knight, but tbf Origins he has a lot of armor and this suit does look more simplistic than Knight (still more complex than any of the other Arkham games tho).
The cowl is the same one from Knight tho

They had different character model in each game for Batman

I'm not gonna judge this game based on the console it's exclusive to, because it could be some fun arkham game-play, or something disappointing. This being a follow-up to Arkham Origins is a sign we could get a remaster soon, and I'm here for that.

No, it doesn't. It's Quest 3 exclusive. The Quest 2 doesn't have the hardware to run it.
