I've owned mine going on three years this December. We have been through quite a bit together. Even after many repairs it still flies awesomely!
Had to search a while in order to find a video that was this informative and through. Thanks bro, fly on!
Thanks!! You helped me get my Apprentice totally up and ready to run!! Watching your video cleared anything up that I had with the included instructions. First Maiden flight may be tommorrow!! If the wind is low. Lol. 👍🏼
Just bought the apprentice, found your video very informative, thank you.
Just ordered one of these. I will be using your video on assembly. This is by far the best one I've seen on building a new plane. Period!!! Thank you for a informative video.
Glad it helped
Great video, best unboxing and build I’ve seen, thank you 🙏
Very informative !! I'm following your directions as I'm putting mine together right now. Thanks so much for your tutorial !!
OMG Thank you!! I thought I was doing something wrong or my SAFE wasn't working until I heard what you said at 21:51! Thanks!!!
Clear spoken, perfect explained. Thanks
Hope to buy one this summer, great vid for setup thanks
You have done a excellent job on showing how to do this and thank you my friend
Thank you for doing this video. I'm more of a visual learner and this vid really took the frustration of putting this together. Thank you again.
Glad it helped. Please subscribe for more how-to videos.

Very informative video, concise and to the point. Thank you for putting the video out.
Excellent video. Thank you for posting. Kind regards from New Zealand
You’re welcome. Thanks for the comment
A very well done and extremely informative tutorial. I'm purchasing one of these very shortly. Thank you very much....
Awesome job! Great info and overview.
Thanks!
I made mine into a trail dragger after the front wheel bar kept bending. I went through two of them. The notch in that rod is the weak point and upon any hard landings will bend over. I would highly recommend getting the larger wheels for this plane as it tends to mow the lown on slighly longer grass. I flew my Apprentice 4 years before wearing it out. Its a great trainer and easy to repair. You can use boat two part epoxy if the plastic motor mount comes loose. That will eventually happen as the plane ages. Replace the wing rubber bands every year. They will weaken with age and break. I added strip LED lighting to mine also.
Great job. Appreciate your time and effort. Helped me a great deal.
drone how...great video and very detailed info...i as well as others im sure appreciate it..the wing mod looks great and ill be doing this weekend
Thank you, John!
Thank you for your work. I'm just about to assemble my Apprentice and your videos are invaluable.
+JC Flippen Glad it helped
Thank you so much for this!
Thank you...just got this plane
Great video and suggestion with the velcro for the wings. Great idea! Thank you for putting together the video, very informative.
+Bryant Roperto Thanks. I truly appreciate the comment. Please subscribe
8:41 “...as close as you can to the horn, now don’t get it to close to the horn...” 🤔
...and yet, I know exactly what you mean. Thanks for great vid helping out a new old guy.
thanks for all those details.
Very informative and thank you so much. You explain everything better than the manual booklet. Many thanks
Yes the manual is very confusing
Very nice video super explanations
Helps easy to understand.Good pronunciation keep it up and all the best...☺
Thank you very much, great video.
Very detailed and informative. I will be using this video as my instruction manual when I purchase my Apprentice. great tips for the wing storage...was worried about transporting it in my car.
+sirhilsam Thanks! Glad it was useful. Please subscribe
Very good and informative video for new users of this RC plane. Thank you.
Thank you for this very well done video. It was really helpful
+Burhan Karanjia Thanks! Please subscribe
Very good and concise video!
I highly advise that you use the vertical stabilizer screws to tap out vertical stabilizer before installing. The screws are very hard to screw in with parts assembled. High probability you will strip out screw head if you don't tap out 1st.
What about checking the balance of the airplane? Thanks for the video. Very helpful.
Great job on the Video
The manufacturer should use this on their web site. Thanks so much.
Magic, love it.
just finish assembly my Apprentice STS, thank you for your help, I'm still waiting for my LAS (landing assist sensor) on back order. any instruction for gps and las installation?
Спасибо, очень доходчиво и наглядно!
Very informative. Looking forward to my aircraft to arrive Saturday. Thank you for the work put into the video sir.
Nice video ! Thanks !
Great video. I just built mine 2 weeks ago using the manual before seeing your video, but you covered just about every part of that, as well as a few additional insights like the Velcro. One question. Do you open the air holes in the bottom of the empennage? The manual does not mention them, but I wonder how warm the motor and battery get in flight. They are just foam plugs, but I wonder if they are meant to be opened. Your thoughts?
+Jason Phipps I wouldn't see any issues with opening the holes. But the motor rarely even gets warm. The prop wash and motion keep it cool for the most part. The ESC also doesn't get very warm. If you're flying the craft and not pushing it way too hard, you certainly won't have any heat related issues. This really isn't meant to be an acrobatic aircraft. It's a trainer and if flown like one, overheating won't be an issue.
Awesome information . Thank you very much
Wow excellent video. I'm looking to purchase a EFLITE APPRENTICE S 15E so will following these instructions.
Have my first maiden flight today with the Apprentice. The sheer size of this craft is intimidating as a beginning pilot but made good use of the RF8 simulator to fly it.
Luckily I followed your building instructions to the letter and all went well.
Thanks again !
Great video
Your video was excellent do you still own this plane and how is it flying
I am going to purchase this model for my first craft...just starting out...thank you..
+Billy Ross Great beginner craft.
just pulled mine out of the attic. Thank You for the refresher
Good. Idea. Thank you.
I have had and Apprentice s15e for almost two years, a great plane. I belong to a flying club and I had a lot of help at the beginning. After some crashes, one of the members suggested that I get a certain tape for support. That tape I can only get at Ace Hardware. It is called strapping (for packing) tape .94 inches by 60 yd. It is a super strong tape, almost transparent that has linen strands running inside the tape. After breaking off the tail a few times and the elevator, I ran a piece on both sides all the way down both sides of the fusalage, under the elevator and any other weak spots. It blends in and is a very strong reinforcement. This is a good plane to learn on and to maintain.
z bud I use regular packing tape, its clear and strong, use 3M, not the cheap thin stuff.
Ordering one of these this weekend wanted an RC plane as a child and I'm 25 now. I've got gsxr 600 and newer turbo audi just looking for some nerdy fun. Realistically and I know it depends on practice but how soon will I be able to move on an EDF Sabre or Mig 15?
Very helpful
Thank you!
You’re welcome
I have the bnf version of Apprentice STS and I successfully binded it to my Gen 3 Spektrum DX6 transmitter. And I successfully assigned channel 5 to use switch D for the SAFE modes. However after binding, the plane only shows green led light(beginner mode) and not blue(intermediate) or red(experienced) even after I flipped the switch. Do you know why I can't get this plane out of beginner mode?
Do you never return the trim back to the center position after you put it all the way down?
The instructions says to use all 8 ruber bands is that correct i see you only used 4 I need to know thank you!
Did anyone have to glue there tale section on..? I absolutely cannot get the 2 screws to catch and attach the rear pieces!
can the carbon tube which is used to join the 2 wing parts be taken out or its glued inside the male wing ?
Will the controller tell you how much batter life you have
where is the link for the velcro
Thank you for the vid! but where is the center of gravity on this bird?
+Gilberto Sedo Thanks! The manual suggests a specific distance behind the leading edge of the wing.
Yeah, 1 1/8" from leading edge.
+Gilberto Sedo That sounds about right.
I successfully binded my Apprentice STS to Spectrum DX6 but upon doing so, I noticed the rudder being way off center. I tried fully trimming it to the left and almost got it to center, but not quite. How do I mechanically adjust the rudder so it's center without trim? I tried unscrewing the servo but there's two steel rods attached to the servo arm from opposite directions, making it impossible to adjust.
Peter L ,disconnect the end of the rod from the rudder .then rotate the clevis(which is screwed on to the rod)to extend or shorten the effective length.see page 5 ,item 4 of Tail Installation in manual.
Hello, my front nose after I tighten it is more turning to the right even when I put it in straight. Not sure what to do, any help would be appreciated
That is ok, to counter centrifugal force of the prop.
Interested in buying the this airplane. Can it be flown using my Spectrum DX8 transmitter?
yup
kool!
how has that wing held up sense you have been using the velcro?
+D.J. DISPATCH It's been fine so far. Still the same velcro
Will this plane last a long time and if I get floats is it fully/kind of water proof
Edit: can it fly in rain
Aidens Outdoors No it’s not very waterproof.
the rubber is funny
👍👍👍👈
Did this guy call it a front spinner? It’s the nose dude.
It IS called a spinner. On page 5 of the Apprentice manual, it states: "Remove the spinner, nut, washer, spinner back plate and propeller
assembly (A)." Horizon Hobby calls it: "Spinner: Apprentice 15e (EFL2733)". The nose of the aircraft refers to the front and the tail refers to the rear.
