you should really be careful about ohms and getting the proper audio set up to test headsets. the sennheisers might have sounded bad because you aren't pushing enough power for the 250 ohm headset!
Seeing the DT990's coming in at 5th in a "gaming" roundup such a chad move. Why? Because its not "labeled" as "gamer", but it doesn't matter - it still just an audio device that you can strap to your head that performs well in gaming. Still a headset. Still playing games. Still needs to perform well in audio.
I keep coming back to this channel because you are extremely direct about recommending products based on its performance for the task at hand - and labels don't deter - only performance separates the products. Just like the chad move on the "gaming" chair round up - the chairs were all just great performing office chairs - not chairs with "gaming" plastered over the box and marketing materials.
Good classic review work. It helps bring to light what products are actually good versus "marketed" towards being good for a specific task.
Nice video😊Question. Can I use wireless headset and keybaord (2 usb dongle)and they will work fine?curious if it will not interactive with each other badly
of course not! it's 2024!
If someone knows… Does Beyerdynamic tygr 300R is good for gaming? I was using my razer barracuda x for the past two years. Would it be a good upgrade?
how about the Redragon H510 Zeus pro? recently i heard it's a very good budget wireless headset. hope u can do a review about it and compare it to the Logitech wireless g435 lightspeed
will the Audeze Maxwell fit my big head?
for comparison i have the steelseries arctis pro headset and it is a little to small and have to really push them down to get them over my ears
Great review. Thanks for helping me make a decision on my next headset. Went through 2 Sony Pulse 3D headsets in a year. They keep
Breaking at the ear part. Cheap plastic piece
Omg!! I broke two as well in the same f'n spot!!! Which ones did you end up buying?
I've had mine for over a year or two and they still work fine. I've thrown them, tossed them, used for hours at a time and they still work. My dog (love the little turd) even chewed up my USB to connect them and they still work. Maybe I'm just lucky but they haven't broken yet. They do get uncomfortable to wear after a while and I need to take them off for a bit, and the audio is mid at best. But mine still work up until now. I just want a more comfortable and better sounding headphones to use for gaming and music.
Nonsense! Why do we settle for less??
Don’t buy the epos. Mine broke within three months. Had a two year warranty which I couldn’t use because their customer service is awful/nonexistent
I own Epos hybrid 270 and they are garbage.
Mine already has an echo I'm a chill dude I don't scream into the mic I don't even use the mic on it
Ugh, companies suck nowadays! Thanks for the heads up. Let them go bankrupt!
Send them a email threatening to take legal action if they don’t take action upon ur warranty, when company’s ignore me and I send something like that I usally get a response back pretty fast ;)
@@calb488 LOL I'm sorry dude, ALWAYS do a review video first! Sometimes you just get ripped off, but what makes the Epos so bad?
What hardware do you test these headsets one? I see the DT990 Pro is the 250Ω (ohm) version and not a 80Ω. Running these in a regular PC or console is unfair. You need a amplifier to run this headset in the first place.
Good question. Did you find the answer?
Would you say the nova pros beat the h6 pro?
I’ve had the audeze since the release of them, they are fantastic but they are very heavy. I love them and use them for certain games. Lately I’ve been playing Diablo again and have pulled my old nova 7ps out so I can listen to pod casts and stuff while I play. Plus they are half the weight.
PERFECT IM LOOKING FOR A GAMING HEADSET but maybe I’ll just buy a mic
For rainbow 6 in pc and Warzone? Witch one?
is there a major difference between the closed back and open back for the h6pro
Opens are more natural and simple amazing closed are good but spiked highs
Further thoughts?
The DT 990 is a studio monitor not a gaming headset per se. Thats why the bass is lacking. Studio monitors are made to have a flat and unenhanced frequency response for mixing purposes. So as a gaming headset they come out short because its not the intended application field
Also, plugging it directly into the pc will most likely not give it enough power. Using it through a soundcard/interface is neccesary when using a higher impedance headphone
Upgrading my Steel Series 1 after so many years with the Audeze Maxwell. :)
Sound is second to none, everything else sucks
I returned it. there should be emphasis on the fact that the sound of Maxwell is amazing COMPARED TO WIRELESS. If we compare with wired, it is absolutely no different than, for example, 200 euro cheaper DT 770. If you really want wireless and best sound, probably Maxwell (But my xm5 sounds amazing as well), the microphone is also amazing but many things suck with it: Comfort is non-existant and you will need to spend another extra 50-80 euros for a third party band/cushioning and earpads, both stock leather pad and the earpads are so bad. The weight is also so powerful on the head, too many hotspots. I chose the con of wired by remanaging my cable length/position over the con of the god awful comfort with insane headaches. I would really reconsider maxwell or atleast buy it and have guarantees that you can return it.
May i should bye the Audeze Maxwell headphone. 🙂
@@Mega2Sniper bro, xm5 are using quality codecs to fix audio quality, latency is killing in these, gaming headphones are gaming because they can deliver good quality without latency

Nice gaming headsets. Always worth it = good sound!
Hello. Congratulations on a great review. Subscribed! I currently have the wired version of the Logitech G Pro X. Very good headphones, but since my room and desk are small, the cable keeps getting stuck on my chair. Not only does it plug in, it also unplugs the cable. It's annoying and if this continues, the deformation it creates in the cable and my nerves will become unbearable.
While I was buying this headset, I also saw HyperX Orbit S and... Man... It was a great headset, but the price was quite expensive. I heard planar magnetic drivers for the first time with this headset. Headphones were great for 2021, of course, I don't know now. I've never been able to experience it, but I've always wanted to have headphones with planar drivers.
Right now, I have a considerable amount of money that I can waste. In the end, I am no longer a person who recommends things to my friends, but someone who needs to be recommended. As games, I play FPS and psychological horror games with battle mechanics (for example: Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice).
As for music, I listen to orchestral electronic music and bass-based dark electronic music. So, I am someone who loves both detail and bass.
HyperX Orbit S is a pretty old headset. A headphone released in 2019. Its software dates back to an equally problematic period. This is actually the part that makes me nervous. But I found this second-hand headphone for 2180TRY (equivalent to 65 USD), which is a great deal. It's a clean headset, but since it's old, I have concerns about the sound quality and advantages. And I just found out that Orbit S is wireless!
Now, do you think I should take this great opportunity and buy the Orbit S, or should I continue to suffer with this wonderful headset?
Always happy when you upload 👍
The Audeze Maxwell costs around €400 in Europe, also it's by far the most uncomfortable headset that I've used mainly because of it's weight, I can wear most headsets for 5+ hours with no problems but with the Maxwell I need breaks almost every hour.
Though yes the sound quality is the best I've had in a gaming headset, although nowhere near as good as a normal headphone for music.
The Corsair virtuoso se is probably the least comfortable headset I have ever used but such a good sound quality in gaming and music and when I get the money I really want to get the SteelSeries arctis pro wireless but it’s super expensive what should I get the wireless or wired because I really need the comfort of wireless headset but is it worth the price?
If you get new earcups for them it fixes them problem.
hey quick question, been going back and forth between getting the arctic pros as well, what makes them stand out to you from these other sets?
I'd like to steer you away from the Arctis Pro Wireless.
After 2 years of dealing with them, I watched this video to find a replacement for my current pair. The mounting joints between the earcups and the gimbals are made of cheap plastic. You'd have to take them apart to know this, so the reviews never mention it. After using them for a couple of years they got brittle and cracked open yesterday when I simply put them down on my mousepad. Neither duct tape nor superglue are keeping the ear cup on now, so they're busted for good. Apparently tons of people have had the same issues with all of the SteelSeries headsets.
I've also had lots of other annoyances with them:
*The microphone windscreen (the black fuzzy bit) falls off constantly. It's not tight enough to fit snugly, and any adhesive that it might have come with wore off very quickly. This started about a month after purchasing them.
*The docking station refuses to work with a standard audio input and will only accept USB. This means I can't split the audio with other devices, so I have to manually change the audio output device in Windows if I want sound to come out of my speakers instead. This gets really old really fast. If you use the "stereo mix" feature as a workaround then the audio quality becomes complete garbage.
*I have never successfully managed to pair this headset with any bluetooth device ever. Fortunately the docking station uses its own proprietary wireless protocol.
*In wireless mode, this headset is severely prone to random disconnects despite being 2 feet from the docking station. The audio will even more frequently just cut in and out for several seconds at random intervals. I frequently have to ask people to repeat themselves during meetings when the headset is acting up. Sometimes it gets so bad I have to switch to a laptop with built-in speakers/microphone instead. This can easily ruin any games which involve any kinds of audio cues.
*Sometimes, instead of the audio I'm expecting, the speakers will blast static into my eardrums at maximum volume. Turning them off and back on again usually fixes this, but it takes a minute for my nerves to calm down every time it does this to me.
*SteelSeries pushes their "GG" bloatware on you by tying basic driver functionality to this software. The first thing it does when you open it is try to sell you more stuff.
@@nthexwn I have a steel series arctis 7 which I use for gaming to this day I have for about three years now and never had any problems with them and I do not use sonar it’s actually ass and makes it harder to hear foot steps and that’s why I wanted to get the pros because I thought they be much better with better sound and all the other pros
@@Crunchy0 I’m talking about the top parts it’s super uncomfortable and I really gotta get new earcups mine are showing sponge
My virtuoso pros broke after a year. They literally just hang on my headset stand or stay on my head. The fabric in the padding for the headband is splitting and the right side of the band is falling apart and doesnt hold the right ear very well anymore. corsair doesnt sell the replacement parts on their site or really anything for these headsets. Otherwise amazing sounding headsets.
Somebody could help me
I need a headset for playing dead by daylight. It's a videogame where the sounds is pretty crucial. So I need some recommendations to what is the best headset
Will the corsair ones work with my Xbox as well or only on pc
yes bro they will work with xbox, ps5 and pc. im thinking of buying them, i have the virtuoso non pro wireless. They are my favorite headset but it just died =(
I need that pink shirt! 😍
No.5's have 250 Ohm impedance, they require either a headphone amp or a HiFi-capable soundcard
W for playing battlefield 1 it’s such a good game
6:10 now these are heavy. Yeah I can see that 😍
How about Razer blackshark v2 (2023)? Hows the quality with this headset?
I had a horrible experience. To activate the directional sound you need to connect it to the pc and a razer app then activate all that stuff . The app didn’t recognize the headset even plugged in. they had support go around in circles with their solutions, none worked , and when I asked for the return, the return policy had expired. We emailed back and forth so long it expired. Wasted lots of money
Personally, I don't recommend them. I bought them a few weeks ago and the sound and build quality was pretty meh compared to the HyperX Cloud II. If you're looking for a somewhat cheap but good quality headset, I recommend the HyperX Cloud II, they have much better sound drivers and have sturdy and cool looking metal parts.
just broke on me after a year and a half. the brackets that connect the ear cups to the headband literally disintegrated. i loved them as the sound quality is super nice but i wouldn't buy again
Annybody that wants A good pair of gaming headsets Pretty cheap I would relly recommend HyperX Cloud II Ive had mine for 3 years now and still works like there brand new. Best confort headsets and pretty good mic Really recommend
I can confirm. I bought the HyperX Cloud II in 2017 and used them non-stop almost every single day until just two weeks ago (so about 7 years in total) when they finally tore up from overuse lol. They're really good!
3 YEARS? Eternal, is what you mean! Too good, too good. Are they good quality as well?
Is it wired or wireless?
@@Josh-Tech-Reviews sorry for being late but the quality is amazing!
id put the blackshark v2 pro in at 5th or 4th tbh
I have the DT990s and originally bought them for music production . Started using them for gaming and they legit blew out . lol I wouldn’t recommend them for gaming..
What do you mean?
I've been Gaming with the same dt990s for 3 years and they work fine,
ok I get that Audeze got first place but fully taking out Steelseries from the list is wrong.
Even with 200k you’re so underrated amazing reviews amazing quality
Thank you!!
Right to the point I fw you gangsta
Beyerdynamic make studio reference headsets, as in music studio, so don't think it's fair to review these in the same fashion. For instance, they are supposed to have a neutral sound for that application and excel in this. They also are built for a studio environment (chucking on the floor, 12 hour daily use etc.) and I can testify that they are built to last with many studios having beyerdynamic headsets from 20 odd years ago still working.
The largest problem with any gaming headset is that you either have very poor sound quality (regardless of EQ) and a great mic, or a terrible mic and decent sound quality. EPOS h6 pros were only okay on the sound quality side but had one of the worst microphones in the game.
top 5 budget webcams next.
Lol thanks for video idea!
Astro A50x’s? Thought they were awesome
Epos h6pro open backs are god tire with atmos in Fortnite wow directional of closed back with the stage of open £70 uk USA now on Amazon .
Which headset works the best for people with big heads
They are all adjustable, especially the Logitech one
No arctis nova pro?? 😮 deffinetly ome of the best headset out there
the beyerdynamic isnt a gaming headset its for mix and mastering thus there is no bass boost on them. You can hear the sound the way the mix and mastering guy intended you to do.
Which battlefield are you playing?
weird that the astros A50x or the arctic nova pros arent here which both of these are better then all on this list.
Astros are straight garbage.

Razer Kaira pro wireless are good.... for 90 bux
"EKSA E900 pro" should be the best one below USD $30. Both USB type-C to type-A and 3.5mm TRRS can work , attached boom microphone is the best against the rest one. Aliexpress can get it.

@@user-sg2hz1iq6l Bro I have no luck
Am I understanding correctly that the first product in this video, which is titled "Top 5 Best Gaming HEADSETS..." is in fact not a headset but rather a headphone? Oh ok.
DT 990pro is a studio headphone not gaming headset. Also there is a thing called AutoEQ to fix the bass.
After EQ tuning the DT990s still had a massive drop off on the low end, they really just aren’t capable of deep bass unfortunately.
☝🏻🤓
@@ConsumerTechReview It's because the DT990's are headphones more designed for music production and mixing. They deliver a more flatter frequency response to accurately represent music you are producing, and hear ever frequency range. They are not intended for media consumption and probably shouldnt be on a list for gaming headphones.
Have you done the new Logitech Astro a50 x?
@@XentiirMusicthey cannot produce the frequency needed for full range of sound. Doesnt matter their intention if they cannot serve full range. They seem like a terrible studio headset if they cant pick up low frequency that youre using for a final track.
I saw someone else unscrew the head-strap pins, thats why it gives you so much trouble taking the strap off
In conclusion audeze is definitely better but corsair has the better deals the quality difference is mostly base and a couple hz based on specs at least
Can someone pls help with the name of the game he is playing in this video?
Battlefield 1
Have DT 990 mic?
no
Is it possible to get a good headset under 170 dollars?
I was thinking that same thought but for $200 or less & my answer is I have never heard 1 before but I have not tried any of these!
My G Pro X2s broke after 9 months. The right side ear died suddenly, the next day the left side started to fail. 😢
i disagree with recommending Logitech g735, after a year of use the leather on the headstap will horibly creak, and the earpads are nice material, but dont have enough surface area on you head, they also fall off your head really easy.
Everyones head is different
@@toxicgracie3772 true, but most of my friends that have tried it also said they didn't really like it, not my pick in the 180$ range, i would just get studio headphones and a boom arm mic when under 200$,
Look just want to say that corsair hs60 pro took me 5 years to break
The problem of number 1 is the weight
which battlefield is this?
it's battlefield 1

Which headset are you using for PC use? The Sony's XM5?
Why recommend something that isnt even meant for gaming at #5? My Sennheiser game ones that came out 10 years ago would be a better recommendation. (And the mic quality is better than the one logitech 😂)
Always say whether the respective headset is for the Xbox. Simply listing any headset that is only for PC doesn't do anyone any good.
just saw this and it said 10 seonds ago lmao
15:04 don’t do that you can damage the drivers
These do not beat out the nova pros, the sound does, everything else is garbage
DT 990 Pro is a headphone not a headset
HOW do you fail to mention the fact that the Corsairs are completely wired?
No one ever mentions the Astro a50s anymore so they suck ?
i just bought the 50s a week ago because my 40s gave out after 5 years. as a big astro fan, disappointed by the lack of improvement to the 50s for the price. and i think the 40s are comfier. if you have xbox, the 50s can be a bitch to set up

The Corsair Virtuoso Pro was extremely poor quality in terms of build. Not even 24 hours after unboxing, only 2 hours of use, and the fabric covering the foam of the headband was completely coming off. Amazon also had similar reviews of those headphones falling apart in some way within the first couple of months. I do not recommend that one.
Just get the black shark v2. Had it for 3 years and it’s the best I’ve ever had. So good that I’m going to buy it again to replace my new one as there is now a hardware issue with it. U have replaceable mic and replaceable wire. It’s the best
Yeah except when u try to use the razer app it doesnt work to configure the audio settings just bought mine i liked them at first, they are very lightweight and u can choose between using bluetooth and wired but the Bluetooth does sound kinda echoey so i was using the wired version and within two days of buying the headset the wire was already acting up and making a weird noise so im now forced to use the Bluetooth but it will work i guess just disappointing

I like the Blackshrak v2 pros (2023)
I bought the older gen and man it sound so bad maybe flat? Not only that there was no noticeable spatial footstep with the app+wireless. Then when used it wired without the app it can hear and feel every footstep. Should I just buy the newer gen?

Audeze's headphones are a weighty money trap, I've had the mobius and the maxwells my mobius broke in a month, they promised the fixed the garbage plastic brackets only to have them break on the maxwells falling of a low bed in the first two month and audeze wouldn't do a thing about either. The bass is god awful but the headphone gives pretty realistic audio but only for music, in games it falls off with imaging being baseline accurate and nothing special for the price with just about the mic and comfort being good till their not, I wanted to love them with all the youtubers being payed to glaze em so hard but nah its just that... Save your money
Dont buy the maxwells

Corsair headsets are dogshit. Broken after a year and a half.

@mew1534 so by your definition no good headphones exist. Technological advancements will always make it so that top of the line headphones from today have better sound quality than top of the line headphones from 5 years ago.
