    Man, for those of us that were alive in the early 80s, that Kawi brings back a lot of great memories. It just looks right, Kawi did a great job of capturing the styling of the time. The shape of the tank, the side plastics, the seat, the tail and even the font used for the badging are spot on.

    The H2 750 of the 70's was called the 'widow-maker', not the 900. Guzzi - check pronunciation. The Kawi. W800 weighs 496.1 Pounds, wet, not Kg.

      Hah! Pedantic is OK w/ this gearhead. Actually, the H2 also acquired that moniker, so maybe both models earned the title? Good point re: 'sound off'! Thx!!@@johnmaxfield1147

    There is a proverb in Japan that says, ``If you want to be the man , ride on Kawasaki.''

    wrong the 1973 KZ 900 is what the RS is themed after the widow maker was the 3 cylinder two strokes H1 500 and H2 750

      @seniorrider9337 Před 7 měsíci +1

      It was the 73 Z1 900, not KZ until, I think 75 or 76. You are right about the widowmaker name. Later in 84 when the Ninja 900 came out the widowmaker name came back. That bike stock would break 150 mph.

    Love the Kawasaki and the Triumph Thruxton...proper proportions, style, power and handling.
    The others? Meh...

    Interesting overview of new old bikes. However some misinformation here like the Z900RS: its predecessor was the Z1. Also the W800 cannot weigh 496.1 kg as its mentioned here!

      That'd be my choice. I had a R1 in the US. Now in the Philippines I have a MT15 for ease of getting around traffic. But would certainly like to add the 900 for highways and longer rides.

    No the Kawasaki Z900RS is a retro rebuilt of the legendary Z1 not the H1 'widowmaker' not at least because the widowmaker was a two stroke. The BMW is not a real retro bike. It's just BMWs poor try to compete with other naked bikes. The Triumph really looks nice but i miss the third cylinder. Ok the Yamaha is one of the ugliest naked bikes ever built. When you wanna make a naked bike, which is supposed to be near the old-school ones, a fully digital cockpit is an absolutely no go. The Indian is ok but please fit a smaller exhaust. This looks ridiculous. Actually nothing negative for the Guzzi. Well done guys. The Ducati comes real close to the original one. Unfortunately I didn't like that one either. Ok with the W800 Kawasaki just made a copy of the original. Using modern technology but keeping the old fashion look nearly a 100 %. That's what I call a retro bike. Last but not least the Royal Enfield. In my eyes they put all the good stuff from the old bikes together. I'm only speaking of the appearance. Looks like a perfect mix of Ymaha XS650, 750 twin, Kawasaki Z650 ( I know that was a 4 cylinder) and old Triumph an Norton. All for an unbeatable price. If I would be interested in buying a brand new bike, this would be my favourite choice. But I guess i rather stay with my oldies.
