Everyone is praising Derrick White’s 3 point shooting at 40%. Rightfully so because that’s his career high. However, people are trashing Klay for shooting his career lowest at 39%. Make it make sense, you can’t praise Derrick but hate Klay and they’re shooting roughly the same. 😂
But Derrick White can STILL play defense, Klay CANNOT. That's a fact. Klay came off the bench and had his WORST season yet last year. He never recovered from his ACL and Achilles tears. Andrew Wiggins had to play defense and Jordan Poole had to play offense when GSW won the chip in 2022. Klay had ONE block against Ja Morant during the ENTIRE playoff series in 2022.
One is currently one of the best defensive players in the league. The other is a 34 yr old broken down shell of a player. One just shot 40% from three IN THE PLAYOFFS and had 18 steals vs 16 turnovers in 19 games. He is also wearing a new championship ring while the other was 0-10 in a play-in loss to a lousy team playing without its best player. Does that explain it?

It would seem that Derrick Jones, jr.'s decision to go to the Clippers was not a good one. Instead of playing with Paul George who's leaving LA, he could be playing with Luke, Kyrie and Klay in Dallas. OOPS!!

Look his scoring is so unpredictable, he's also injury prone. When he does go out he's out for a long time. Also isn't a consistent shooter he goes long streak without hitting anything I think they should be focusing on somebody who is very consistent yes he holds a couple of records but they need more consistency not less

B, much better shooter but lose a little on the D even and older player. Just think he is so much of an upgrade dependable 3pt shooter than THJ, Green or DJones. Now find a way to get LM from Jazz.
Klay 88, lost step on D end and age could effect his health and number of games he plays.

I think he's a great fit with the Mavs. But I hate giving up Josh Green. And know that Klay is turning 35 this year, and not a great defender anymore. They are now a better shooting team, but are a bit less athletic. A good deal, but a couple of issues there. You're going to have lineups with Kyrie, Luka & Klay closing out games - no perimeter defensive stoppers there. IDK.
Green wasn’t enough to warrant passing on the shooting. And Klay’s defense was actually not bad. He was above average. Graded out above Josh Green. Dallas needs a point of attack defender now. Klay’s shooting won’t go away

Josh Green out KLAY THOMPSON IN, assuming he plays in the playoffs like Josh did. That’s a downgrade. Look at both their last games.
Klay was still 4th in the NBA in 3 pointers this season and he still shoots 38.7% on 3s and 43.2 FG%. Most teams will take this.
@@deedeecurtis we aren’t most teams. Was he fourth in the playoffs? Of the guys who got past the first round it was Donte, Halliburton and White. I’d prefer any of those three please.
Safe to say we will be trading for an actual solution to this problem in February but we will have to find someone to take this idiotic contract off our hands.
@@glennvastine5713 A player with Klay’s resume doesn’t often take 3 years for $50m. We went to the finals and lost because we had players who never shot over 35% on 3s and we only shot 17% in the finals. That won’t happen with Klay.

He has sucked in clutch games at the end of seasons for going on four years. It could absolutely happen again here. He’s not the messiah.

Before everyone on Callas starts screaming about getting Klay, remember this: Klay Thompson isn't even remotely the player he was before 2019 when he tore BOTH his ACL and his Achilles.. GSW won the chip in 2022 because of Andrew Wiggins on defense and Jordan Poole on offense. Klay's numbers have plummeted in the last several years. He isn't a splash brother or a two way player like he was ten years ago on Golden State by any means. Kaminga has taken Klay's starter minutes on GSW and that's why Klay left. Thompson is like 1-9 in three shot attempts in the last several years. Also, Dallas losing Derek Jones IS going to hurt the team in more ways than you can count. Last year was Klays WORST year and he's never recovered from the double All/achilles injury. GSW won the chip in 2022 because Andrew Wiggins was playing defense and Jordan Poole was playing offense. Klay barely came off the bench and his productivity has been dropping like a rock. He is NOT a splash brother anymore. Dallas would still lose to teams like OKC, Denver, Minnesota in the West and the Celtics who are keeping ALL of their players next season, plus the Knicks and the Sixers who seriously upgraded their rosters. Until Luka gets his fat ass in shape and learns to play BOTH ends of the court, the Mavs will continue to lose! FACT.
