Great show! Thanks for bringing in Zoey Turr as someone who flew above the Bronco chase and telling her story. In June 1994 I was working at a law school, and living just north of LAX at the time. Came home from work, stopped to buy ice cream at the Mobil Mart across the street, and found the cashier was watching the chase on a small TV. Once I returned home to my apartment, and turned on my TV to watch the chase as Simpson and Cowlings were returning to Rockingham, my interest in the Simpson murder case took off - It was blowing up into the biggest thing ever.

I was a student-worker working at the criminal court’s building on the same floor the case was held. It was a circus every morning, went in through same doors the defense team went in through. Would see OJ being in white van arrive through back of building. At my dept., the victim-witness program, was also Ron Goldman dad and sister, Kim. They would receive tons of boxes there with support mail. They go pick up boxes there. Fred Goldman would sit in one of the cubicles, next to me and I would hear on calls regarding real estate, but never eves drop on exactly what the conversation was about. But on one occasion I did over hear him trying to sell property. Kim would be very upset all the time. I remember so much of this time. When I saw the pictures of the scene of the murders I couldn’t believe my eyes, that someone would do such a horrible thing.

Poor Ron Sr, Kim and the stepmom of Ron and Kim. It was physically painful watching them in pain, But I was glad they brought the topic back to what does truly was about, the murder of two young beautiful people.
Awesome interview guys! I was at a sports bar in NJ watching the Knicks vs Rockets game 5 the night before an Army buddy's wedding. It was pretty surreal watching the game and seeing the white Bronco in the corner of the NBA game.

There are other videos on CZcams showing Bob and OJ and others inside the house during the party. He was definitely was not as disheartened over the verdict as he was later portrayed to be.

Love the podcast y’all! I had just turned 12 on Monday. Friday the 17th, I got home from summer camp and watched the Chase on TV. My dad came home and said he’s still going!? Soon after I went downstairs to eat dinner and we started watching basketball and got interrupted, and my dad disgruntled said, ‘That stupid sob!’ Thank you Tom, Kato, and all the awesome guests that you guys have!

Great interview! That night my family was watching the TGIF lineup on ABC..Family Matters was on and all of a sudden..it was interrupted by breaking news. The rest of the night we watched a white bronco on a slow speed chase. Very cool that Zoey was piloting the helicopter!

I had just arrived at the “Long Bar” off Sand Canyon & the 5, to watch playoffs and drinks with friends. Totally remember the date because my son’s 7th birthday was the next day, June 18.
I had just gone to Toys R Us, Costa Mesa, to grab his birthday loot.
The building where the bar was in ‘94 is approx 6.5 miles from Ascension Cemetery, where Nicole now rests.
At that time you had a fairly decent view of the 5 from the walkway in front that ran parallel to the length of the building.
Every TV had the playoffs going, then… BREAKING NEWS…. white Bronco.
I will never forget hearing someone say, “HE just drove right by us!”
which led to the majority of patrons rushing out to the walkway in hopes of catching a glimpse, unknowingly, what would eventually become one of those “do you remember where you were when…” moments in modern history.

Cool guest and interview! Really enjoying all the talks and interviews. I remember the chase like it was last month. I was at a restaurant with my uncle, sitting at the bar for quite awhile waiting for our table, and watching the Bronco chase on the TV monitor. When we got seated the monitor was still in view which was convenient. Until recently, I never really thought about how ironic the name of the restaurant was in relativity to what was going on. Omg! Another great episode! This is currently my favorite podcast. I just love Tom and Kato as interviewers. They're so insightful and they let the guests speak without interrupting. Hopefully you guys cover the Rust trial when it happens. You could also cover some of the crazy trials that are happening right now, the tik tok murderer who was just convicted, the treadmill murderer of the little boy who is also just convicted and a couple of other ongoing high profile trials.

I was the opening bartender at Australian Beach Club in Orange when the police chase of OJ happened. It was my bar manager, myself and my bar back. My manager turned it on all of the T.V.’s throughout the bar and all 3 of us watched as we set up the bar for that night.

This is great. But I disagree with the guy if he is saying that Lange was wrong about jumping the fence about OJs well being. I gotta side with Lange.
I agree I think they had to or evidence would have been removed or not used . Socks , blood 🩸 etc . They had to seem concerned or family would not have let them in etc.
@@fauxgirl2197 8 domestic violence calls to the police, of course he was #1 suspect from the minute the first cop arrived on the scene. Even I knew back then it was BS when the cops were giving testimony about being 'concerned' OJ was a victim and that's why they jumped the gate.

I lived in San Diego and was at a steak house having dinner. There were TV's throughout the restaurant tuned in to the chase. Everyone was watching.

I did not know about the Low Speed Chase.
We were playing cards, and I had a Springsteen videotape playing. I got up to rewind and play again. I remember seeing some "chase" on TV while completing the rewind.
I did not care to figure out what this was about. I pushed play and went back to playing cards.
The next day, I learned about this stupidity. I was grateful for my choice the night before.

Don’t know if I ever posted this but I just wanted to say that Tom and Kato are a dynamic duo.
First, Tom is a wonderful host. Never seen/hear a host like him who makes each guest feel like a superstar.
Always complimenting their accomplishments, and presenting each guest as very successful and important in their own right. I can’t get over how kind he is. And Kato, what can I say. He is so down to earth and naturally funny I never really knew how talented he is. The media did not do him justice during the trial by portraying him as some sort of “dumb surfer dude”. He is completely the opposite! Love the podcast

I’ll never forget the day of the chase. I worked evenings in east L.A. and we had the radio on for the nba game, then a little later there was a newsbreak about the chase. We listened to the coverage until I left work around 8pm. In addition months later I learned that my employers were part of Bob Shapiro’s family. I’ll never forget seeing a box of his books at the office. What a weird time that was.
It was the day after my 18th birthday anniversary. I was working as a courtesy clerk at Albertsons in Clovis, NM. I was sweeping the aisles and watching the Houston Rockets in the finals. They cut to the bronco chase.
The things you learn. I'm a Twilight Zone fan, and I just watched Blackboard Jungle with a young Vic Morrow. I remember his scenes in both movies very vividly. I had no idea he (and two child actors) died that way during filming of the Twilight Zone movie. That's such a tragedy. A wealth of information from this guest.
You should have Marika Gerard on! She was the photographer in the helicopter with Zoey.
Wow... seems like it shouldn't be that long ago but it's been 30 YEARS! That's crazy! I was only 23 years old at the time. Yeah... I was living in the DC area at the time. Just like everyone else, I was glued to the TV watching everything unfold.
I'm really enjoying these interviews! Learning a lot of things I didn't know about the case!
Zoey provided great OJ chase coverage and even said before the trial that OJ did it and was going to get off. S/he was right.
However, Zoey was not the first helicopter on the chase scene. The first helicopter is filming at Lincoln Avenue and Zoey only arrived and only started filming north of 17th street.
Zoey was the third helicopter to find the Bronco.
The first cop, Larry Pool, was behind the Bronco at Red Hill Avenue.
Zoey's story changes over the years. When Zoey finally found the Bronco there was already 10 cop cars behind the Bronco, yet Zoey used to say only one cop car arrived behind the Bronco after S/he had already found the Bronco.
OJ did not go to Nicole's grave, he went to John Wayne Airport to escape the country, but the plane pilot backed out because it was on the news that OJ was now wanted and anyone who helped OJ was going to be arrested and charged. OJ then went to his beach house in Laguna. When OJ was arrested he had two picture frames of his family with him and OJ got those two pictures from his beach house in Laguna. Obviously AC didn't just happen to have two picture of OJ's family in his Bronco and OJ was at Kardashians house for several days and Kardashian didn't have the pictures there either. OJ picked up those two pictures from somewhere and it was from his beach house in Laguna.
But bear in mind that there is no evidence that OJ was even in the Bronco during the chase. None. Zoey flew down to tree top level to look inside the Bronco and no one in the helicopter saw OJ in the Bronco.
There has still been no explanation of why cops were in OJ's house when OJ arrived. They had no warrant or legal right to be in his house. Both Jason and Arnelle are seen outside on the street as they were not allowed in the house. Zoey is wrong when S/he said Jason came out of the house when OJ arrived. Zoey is also wrong as Tom Lange was not in OJ's house when Tom called OJ in the Bronco and when OJ arrived home.
In one of your previous videos I told you Tom Lange was not telling the truth about why they went to OJ's after the murders, and Zoey just confirmed it. OJ was the prime suspect. All the cops knew OJ beat Nicole and his first wife before.

When I first heard about and saw what was going on with the murders, I was home on maternity leave with my second child. Had I been working? I probably would’ve only heard snippets of it from the radio in my lab where I worked.

I was in front of that chase on the 405 heading to Westwood to see the Crow, there was all these people on the South Bound side standing on the center divider, I was thinking what the hell are these people doing, I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a sea of lights and the Bronco, we got off an Wilshire, I counted 17 helicopters. We still didnt know what was going on until we got out of the movie and turned the radio on.... Zoe if you have any footage of a brand new Green Thunder Bird in front let me know, I would love to see it...

@@amirsim2479 yea that was crazy, My Wife and I moved into an apartment on Mayfield, Bundy was at the end of the street where Nicole lived, that was in 1999 and it so happens the Kardashians lived on the same street as Us, I would see Robert every once in a while driving down our alley going home we would wave to each other, His girls were little at the time... Brentwood was a really cool neighbor hood, we both worked there on San Vicente for a guy name Fred Sand (Real Estate Guy) as for comparing Him to any celebs we didnt give a shit other than his infamy status. I’ve heard oj was a cultural icon especially in sports and I’ve seen interviews and clips before the trial and he definitely seems very popular…. zoey said she spoke with someone who stated that they needed a warrant to enter the property but their explanation made sense, they had a violent double murder, they had his young children at the police station, they couldnt reach OJ , no one answered at the front gates and they saw blood on the bronco. and their commander bushey told them to go to rockingham and find him. doesnt that make sense to people?
For those of us who attended USC, the Simpson murder case especially affected us, as OJ Simpson was a major USC football icon. When he recently passed away, USC chose to simply remain silent and to not acknowledge his passing and his football career.
I was helping getting the party favors ready for my cousin's wedding which was the next day. My other cousin ran into the kitchen to tell us OJ was being chased by the police. We all dropped what were were doing and were parked in front of the family room TV for the next few hours. It was surreal to watch.
