I love how he seems respectable at first, but if you analyse what he's saying, it just sounds like he's talking out of his ass, and I find this fact very funny.
edit: fyi I'm only talking about the first part where he talks to the random student, not hanayama.
@@tsup2 Because he did talking out of his ass. This manga shows a lot of Japanese hypocrisies. Like how this teacher talking about morale and yet they already forgetting about crap they did during WW2 and also Japan before 80s miracle boom. Also the fact that a lot of foreign businesses thrive in Japan because they got Yakuza protection who used to support Japanese govt but immediately bail when Japan lose the war. The Yakuza literally sold Japan to the highest bidder.

Hanayama has been the pinnacle of honor and respect. His self control and awareness has always appealed to me undoubtedly another fan favorite.
He's a character that seems to exude pure Zen energy, despite how rough he is he's truly enlightened.
Honestly Hanayama is one of the most kind person in Baki universe, of course if you try to interfere with his business trying to hurt him or the one close to him, you are dead

Hanayama is a man who runs a Mafia family in his own way and he tries to have a normal life for himself but there will be challenges in his life but he'll never give up on nothing to keep the peace in his territory and make sure the innocent people are safe and the bad people get wants coming to them

I remember that too but didn't know from where. I only know about GTO and it's a different kind of series but same teacher who wants to reach kids.
I absolutely love how Hanayama consistently is portrayed as the most respectable and kind person. Even though he is a mafia boss he told his guy to drop pressuring the teacher and commended him for showing kids the right path. I really love the trope of a humongous powerful guy with a strict honor code.
First off I'm happy that he protecting teachers like him shows he's kinder then he let on, and i have to say that Valentino is gonna be horrified to see him

The teacher was both street smart and book smart while hanayama is only Street smart. A commonality amongst baki characters that I really don't like for Side characters is that they lose all sense of their character and everything that made them unique the second they see the superhumans that baki characters are and it's kind of annoying.

The fact the teacher can tell Hanayama is still in his teens shows that he’s a caring teacher because he actually pays attention to details. Of course people can see him as rude but what he was saying is technically correct since a teen shouldn’t be drinking and smoking at a bar and running a mafia gang.
