The phylosophy of some Baki character is that what constitute a defeat is them on the floor, dead or sleeping from head trauma. Retreat is not defeat, it's "the fight is still on, i'm just leaving for now". For Yujiro, it's just the one with his gaze above the other one at the end of the duel. For Baki himself it's more recognizing you can't win. That's your defeat. So in a sense, Kehaya didn't lose... But it's still a bitch move.

I now know why Kehaya is undefeated. He simply disappears from the fight.

If you let your opponent take the territory, you lost. What if he was here to kill your wife and kids? Still seeing flying away as a victory ? Even if you just leave your home to the invader, it's a defeat and nothing else. But I guess that's at least an interesting standpoint.
