Going for kingfish from the jetties and we got something even better. Plan was to chuck out some big lures like the rapala xrap 14 and the halco max 130 to get a big kingfish but a cobia got in the way and snagged it up. Pretty small guy but I'm quite happy with it. Heard of a few cobia caught while surf fishing the beach which would also be cool. A lot of times they're just caught on shrimp on the bottom LOL.

I caught a cobia from land once, it was like 20 inches so not big at all , but cool to catch. It was a total fluke too didn’t even know they were there. Awesome video btw!!

It's crazy how picky these fish must be. I always stick with a few lures when i hit the surf and jetties, but clearly i need to fish a bigger variety until my selection vibes. This last trip we fished a few surf spots, picked up a ladyfish and started fishing with a live mullet about 9 inches long. Thought I felt a bite and pulled a small shark into a wave with the mullet down its mouth. Bit its head off and left me the tail for another cast.
