I think Mr Oz is Doctor Manhattan (Mr Osterman), while the one who messed up the timeline is Ozymandias after finally mastering Doctor Manhattan's powers, like he was beginning to do at the end of Watchmen.

I think the watchmen are important, but the fact that the legion of superheroes were wiped out has me guessing that the time trapper might be involved because he absolutely hates speedsters, the legion, and even though he was retconned to be a future version of superboy prime, future evil Jon Lane Kent had those same hatreds and gripes. I think the watchmen are trying to save everyone by correcting changes in time while preserving characters that have been time displaced and play an intricate part in the past, present, and future.

New 52 "isn't an alternative universe "
Liam Davies New 52 reset the DC universe and rewrote all the origins. It was all kicked off by the Flashpoint storyline. Rebirth is the current DC major story retconning things again. It is still set within the New 52 universe but the whole point of the story is that everything is not what it seemed and that the old universe and the new are really one in the same, just tampered with.

This story actually made me hate Batman, because there's no conceivable way that he could or should survive any attack by someone who travels faster than the speed of light.

One of the things I loved about BvS was the casting of Thomas Wayne. If they ever did Flashpoint in live action, Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be freaking fantastic as a gun toting Thomas Wayne Batman.

1st off... Rob, your work is fantastic. I hadn't read a comic in over 15 years. With Rebirth and ANAD going on, I didn't have a clue how to get caught up or what order to go in, where to start, etc. Your channel is IMHO the best, most thorough, and well put together thing of its kind. Yeah, I'm just not a fan of how Batman went from guy on the streets who almost got killed by a hooker to an unkillable god that can survive an onslaught from someone who can move faster than light.
This issue gave me goosebumps. When Batman says *"Flash, you're early?"* and then Eobard says *"Flash? No ... quite the reverse actually"*

Actually, this is the current eobard who escaped from iron heights after being struck by a mysterious lightning bolt in flash #20 that restored his pre flashpoint memories. Its not a different version from the future

dOPE ! well he wasn't thinking that a speedster on flashes level or higher would brake unto the bat cave if it was anyone else he would have had time to put them away and form up a plan.
dOPE ! He was investigating the mask after Gotham Girls sessions ended. He then sent Duke and her on vacation. Why neither of them are there. That or Duke is in school when this happens.
dOPE ! The letter was locked up in a case but reverse flash threw him into the case. Also the letter and the mask and the button are part of ongoing investigations

The music in the background is really good. I approve greatly. Also time doesn't work like that. If you went back in time to when I was five and cut my hand at this point in time I would have always had a scar on my hand from some crazy guy coming up to me and slicing my hand open. It wouldn't suddenly appear nor would I suddenly have a memory of it. Time doesn't work like that. You could also make a reality where I have a scar on my hand and one where I don't. Quantum String Theory is one of those studies where you look into it and it makes your head pop off your shoulders
Eobard was freed from prison at the end of "sins of the father" arc in flash comics . Lightning came down, struck what was holding him and he remembered the flashpoint. It could be argued that Wally created the Lightning that freed thawn. They showed a clear night as Wally's conversation with Barry started, then he got mad and took off, the storm started and suddenly thawne was freed and remembered everything. Said he was going after the Batman, Thomas Wayne. Another reason I think Wally triggered the Lightning that freed him is because if Manhattan wanted thawne free he wouldn't have killed him off the way he did in this story. Thawne death was like a quick fix to an unexpected problem.

Right now is a great time to be a comics flash fan, we've got the Button, Lazarus contract (apparently will be focused on both Wally Wests), Deathstroke, Titans and Teen Titans post Lazarus contract, current JL run is also apparently based on the flash (don't buy the JL rebirth line is probably the weakest out of all of them...) Finally the flash getting some love... Also, the post Button flash run is going to be so good!!
Btw I think Zoom was freed after flash #18 by someone (probably Manhattan) and he and Barry will be fighting across time after the button so...

The button might actually be the best thing to come out of DC Rebirth, no joke.
I'm pretty sure dr Manhattan engineered the events of the button. Maybe he teleported the comedians button in the batcave so that batman could find out of the characters from the watchmen universe arriving in the main dc universe and when reverse flash stole the button from batman dr Manhattan saw this as a interference in his plan and obliterated thawn

in flash #19 the current reverse flash was struck by lightning and was "reserrected" into the pre new 52 /flashpoint reverse flash

I'm pretty sure reverse flash got his memories back from when Wally and Barry went looking for Eddie. It's the same one that was locked up. Also he didn't explode when he came back from time or where ever he was already half burnt to a crisp

one of the best single issues I have read in a long time
Bruce taking off his cowl and bawling is so emotional and you can see that Bruce is really just a frustrated, grieving child, grown up, and fighting criminals to fight the pain.
And, funnily enough, Marvel's main Bruce is similar in that the Hulk is some kind of manifestation of his childhood and his anger toward his father. Or something like that.
So opposite emotions relating to their fathers but Bruce.

hot damn this was such a good video. I only just got done reading all of Flashpoint after going through DC's Crises, and am really stoked to finally get going through new 52 and onto rebirth. i like how this is laid out we forget that time in comics, films and games doesn't tick the same way as it dose for the people observing it (aka us) we can sit down and read all of injustice in an afternoon but that's 5+ years but for most fights between heroes as fast as flash or superman it can be over in seconds, a game like FF7 in there time is months long, the three lord of the rings books its something like 90 years from the start to finish.
