I had mine done when I was really young. Not even a year old. It's not a big deal, it's not very painful, its easier done when young, and in some cultures its tradition. I think the big deal here is that Amy did it without Rachel's permission which is very inappropriate since as the mom, Rachel should be the one making these decisions.
No. It's the person's choice. And those "traditions" need to be gone. Isn't it painful for the baby? Just because you don't remember it, it doesn't mean it wasn't painful. And what's all that for? And have you even considered the risk of infection? Just so ridiculous.
In India, where I am from, it's a cultural practice to have ears pierced for girls (across all sections of society) while they are still infants! Piercing ears is NEVER a reason for teenage rebellion :)
I had mine done on my twelfth birthday. I'm not sure kids more than a few years younger are responsible enough to clean them every day so they don't get infected. But it is different if it's a baby and the parent is doing it.
i got mine done at 6, the girl didn't want to do it (because little kids cried and upset the other customers) but she said yes because i said I wanted it done and my mum wasn't making me do it. it did hurt but i was fine. the point is you dont have someones elses child permanatley marked (yes i no they can grow over but you get my point) without the parents permission. just like you wouldn't decide to circumise someone elses baby
why?...when there babies there ears are a lot more tender so it hurts less than were they big...i really think is really cute to have a baby girls ears pierced at least in my country is like custom to do it at least by the time they ar 2 to 3 month
i believe that you have to pierce your ears when you are a baby, because it doesn't heart at all, but when your older it is more paifull, i did it when i was 15 and i almost cry

We get our nose pierced too when we cross 10. In fact, our parents and relatives insist us on doing that.
I'm Mexican, most of us get our ears pierced as babies.
Doesn't it make her nose look smaller? LMAO
i got my ears pierced for my communion, i was about 7 or 8 :)
guys the problem is not with the piercing
the problem is why didnt she tell rachel that she is going to !
@macrisvc if it's more tender it means it's more sensitive...
