- This video of Bradley Nowell from Sublime playing acoustic songs was recorded in Ocean Beach in November of 1994. I had the tapes for 12+ years in a box. I extracted them into digital form and returned the physical tapes to the original owner in 2015. enjoy!
note on the copyright muting of the Foolish Fool song. this is the video that the actual song on the Bradley Nowell & Friends was taken from. so I understand them muting it. here is the link to that song for your convenience

Grateful and blessed to be able to hear his voice from 1994 tonight in 2024. Thank you for the upload.
Damn when you put it like that… 👀
I’ll be 41 tomorrow and since 96’ ive been rockin the Sublime styleie.
43 my dude and I still don’t practice Santeria 😂✌️
42 and still nobody fucks with my dog, all that I can see I steal.
37 and I'm a bad fish too
31 and Jah still won't pay the bills.
Lou Dog died from old age on September 17, 2001. Lou Dog's ashes were scattered over the same spot as Brad's, in Surfside, California. They both left behind a major legacy.
Awe Lou dawg is so well behaved. Just chilling on the floor next to Brads feet taking in those beautiful tunes. This makes me happy and sad all at the same time. Thank you so much for posting this .
They sure as fuck did brother!
Crazy that Lou dog died 6 days after the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01
thanks for sharing this man. i freaking loved that dog
Lou dog knew who was responsible. Thats why they deleted him. RIP spotted doggy. @bidensniffedmetoo1005
Wow... to stumble upon this here in 2024... what a gift! Thank you for this. You made my day.
Being a Sublime fan is a gift that keeps on giving! Yes yes yes!
@@alexslavinzki2408 Why are you this disgruntled man? Touch grass.
This footage is a treasure. We're all familiar with the shirtless, intoxicated Brad that was usually on stage, but this is so much more intimate. His soulfulness on full display for no one in particular. His perfect pitch, despite the dissonant piano being played right behind him. His effortlessness with the guitar. Man, his voice was such a rare gift.
Any musician worth their salt can deal with shitty out of tune and otherwise garbage equipment. And he most certainly was worth his salt. Music is expression. Maybe also exorcism. It has to come out regardless
Any musician worth their salt tunes their instrument
Love seeing Lou Dog just hanging around.
Thats all he did! I remember these days like it was yesterday.
the van still smells like him...
@@mikeobryant3367That's true! I just stuck my head in the actual van at CaliVibes! ❤❤❤
Some friends from cali brought up his music before it dropped fr. I signed up then and there to be a lifer! So what if his voice is not 100 or his guitar is off tune.. I filter thru that shit and all I hear is the reggae blues stylie in his voice and the reason he is legendary!! Even when he was off and on one you knew he was iconic. So grateful his son Jakob has Bradleys spirit... And i'm all up to see where Jakob takes his fathers legacy! ❤️ Sublime 4 life! 😁
Happiest of birthdays Brad.we miss you terribly.thank you for the soundtrack to my life.
That's how I feel 💯
I can't tell you how much I love this comment.
Brad was born with that kind of passion that burns bright, but quick.
So amazing! Us fans always wish there were things like this.. then new music is released, I see this old footage thats new to me. Thanks to whoever decided to record this and thanks to Brad and Miles mom for this gem
Dude had such a good voice. RIP
The best voice ever
Sometimes I wonder how many classic tunes we missed out on after losing Bradley, Lynn Strait, Layne Staley, Kurt, etc. Tragic to think about.
Bradley Kurt Layne Shannon Chris Chester Wieland rip😢and Andrew wood too
We missed nothing, they were perfect in life and in death. It is the weakness of man to be handed glorious moments and demand more.
I'm grateful for what we were given but we lost a ton.

Wow what a window into Brad. I (believe) that is Miles mom from Stoopid. And this is when she took Brad in a bit when he was in a really rough spot.
This is what I'm talking about. So amazing to see this and then again equally awesome to get to see Jakob doing his great music with (Law LBC, Jakobs Castle) Then to see him perform with SUBLIME in December at the benefit for H.R. of Bad Brain's. That was moving and Brad(RIP) would be proud man. I absolutely love it. Hell yeah. Much love to all of y'all.
Amazing Woman
@@user-ly3dh4yi5wheck yeah man Brad left such a huge legacy and hole in many people’s hearts. Its hard to even make the some resemblance of music genre he uses because its just him. I saw that Jakob was taking over as singer and replacing Rome. ❤
She definitely did drugs
@@joshuahsimons9587most ppl do
Wow. Just think of all the campfires and car rides where his voice carried our souls. We love you, bradley
She’s steady on the keys! Absolutely adore this rub-a DUB! Keep on Skankin! One Love Culture! Conscious Appreciation and Cool-Loving Respect
I named my son after you, RIP
I did as well . Bradley raymond
I did too! About a month before he was born I was driving to work one day, and we still had no clue what we were gonna name him. I had my old iPod mini on shuffle and STP came on, I was instantly like “problem solved!”
Named mine Bradley Nolan.
This is the shit that you put in the box and say damn, it's a hit!
Gone too soon. I hope, wherever he is, he knows hes loved
This legit made a grown man tear up :)
Your not alone bro
Oh yea. This is pure gold. Saw him live once. Haha I’m 52 years old now.....
I hear you. He was so young too. I'll be 46 this year. Seeing bands pictures and stuff from growing up, now they all look so young in those pictured. This is total magic footage!!
Me too, Boss.
Our band opened for Sublime back in the day. What a fun day! 👽✌️
Brad was one of music's biggest loses. Such a talent. So glad I witness sublimes rise.
Haven’t listened to sublime in over a decade and man Bradley s voice (especially his soft wailing) gives me chills.
RIP and hope you’re enjoying your next adventure.
This is a one man symphony. So much music in his voice and fingers
So awesome looking in the comments and people watching this in 2024, his music decorates time so well
These acoustic sounds pushed me towards my complete engagement of spiritual awakening. Set my heart on fire. Can’t believe they’re on video. Thanks Bradley.
i can't thank you enough for sharing this, Aaron. What a treat it was to stumble across this after 10+ years of giving up on hoping to see some unreleased Brad Nowell video I'd never seen before. Wow, what a treat, man.
Yes ty
Same thing hear this has been a fucking treat! I’ve listened to, or played on guitar songs by sumbline everyday since I was like 13! I’m now 33 and I’ve enjoyed the hell out of seeing this video. RIP
Love this!!
4 whole days before the Memories/$5 @the Door show at the Tressel Tavern in Everett, WA. Footage like this keeps my hope alive that the rumored footage from that show will surface one day.🤯🤞
The romantic girl freestyle is so fuckin good
Good luck ❤ I’ve got a few I’m hoping to come across. I did find a flyer for one of my favs though 😂
I never knew Sublime played in Everett....I bet that was awesome!
Imagine having this in a old shoe box for decades and just now uploading it better late then never I guess

I’m in shock to see this video online. I was in the same room at the time Brad made the entire acoustic album. I was a HS freshman every time and my mom and Brad’s Mom were both doing some post graduate college work when she went to, her friend from school has a sign who’s in a band and they’re really popular so I wanted to come see. I guess they became pretty popular didn’t they?? I was playing with the Dalmatian shown in the video while I watched.
hahaha.i bet you were.
Hard to believe. How old are you?
42@@thatssoironic
I’m 42 so that means you were say 11 yeah sure bro we all wish by the way that’s not Brad’s mom
Why the hell would I lie about that?? This was in 94, so I would have been 13 or so. Hence saying I was a freshman. Maybe I was off by a year or so, but still not far off in my estimate tho. It was Brad’s parents house man. Maybe step mom or dad? Hard to remember ALL the details perfectly at this point but trust me I will never forget meeting Brad. No worries if y’all don’t believe me tho. Just wanted to share some details I had when I saw this video on YT.
Wow there is a part 2 of this I’ve seen the other one with him sitting in the same spot it’s like 20-30 min . This is new to me the first one was amazing jus put this on rn . Sickkk
I cried when they won the MTV VMAs... my mom thought i was bipolar.
RIP to all my brothers in B♭
Jeez I’ve never seen this all these years
Minor threat! I hope Brian Baker comes across this. How cool
Youre a true LEGEND brother packrat!!! You should get a medal for this rescue!!
thankyou aaron, some of the BERST humans this world has produced love dogs like brad loved lou. I miss those days, people....those times when i could get a hug and it fuken meant something!
Might be one of the cleanest raw vocals I’ve ever heard from Bradley
Brought happy tears so quick hearing/seeing this. Other than Bob, this guy has always been my hero in music.
True. Hard to watch, but glad I did. Our generation has lost so many entertainers to drugs and mental health. Feels like it, anyway.
You can be creative & talented w/o the chemicals. Live & Love. Love to live...
So awesome. Sounds just like Brad nowell and friends cd from my teens. The one artist i wish we could hear ankther cd from... him and Jimi, sooooo ahead of their times
Bradley covering Dr. Wu by Steely Dan was amazing 👏
This is total magic!
Sad😢made me cry
Incredibly gifted voice
Soo Soulful. Like none other.

This made me happy. I love Sublime

Sublime at The Great American in SF, and Belly Up in Solana. Changed me for the better. Incredible performances. Wish I went to more, maybe I did…foggy memories
Good lord thank you so much brother😊♥️
Brad was second to no one and a true one 0f a kind…miss you bro
The best
❤❤love this man!
When he started playing the piano 👏🏽 he was very talented
I was waiting for him to pull some drum out with his foot...he was dripping talent.
I miss him so much man. Thank you Almighty Creator for him.
wonderful 🥰❣️🌹
He was such an immense talent. Wow. Love his vocal tones and of course his guitar playing, too. You don't hear the same prowess as when he's soloing on electric, but still always pleasant.
brother. This is amazing. Thank you very very much! Cheers from Buenos Aires, Argentina!!!!!!!!
Waited years for this to surface thanks for sharing
Wow thanks for the upload. I have been wishing that l could hear new music from Bradley since he passed.
I always wish l lived in the parallel universe where he lived and we got 10 more sublime albums

Big plus 1!
This was always my favorite Marley song! Crazy to stumble upon Bradley singing it all these years later! Miss those days and feel bad that this new generation will never experience what we grew up in
Just showed up on mine and had to check it out holy smokes
I know the guava jelly song?
He is the reason I picked up a guitar!😊

4 days later. Still can't get enough
2 weeks later...
Thanks for sharing. An artist through and through.
This is such an underrated video.
Awesome stuff. Thought I saw everything out there. So thanks for sharing this gem. Fingers crossed there’s more stuff out there
Thank you for sharing this. I really appreciate the music and what a palpable loss it was when he was gone.
Wow is right! Brother this is golden, epic footage, thank you for sharing🙌
Thank you for this one as well. I have no idea why I've never seen your channel before but this is great and greatly appreciated.
Wowww....
I have never seen this. It was wonderful. I would have bitch slapped anyone playing 2 chop chords behind me. I’m kidding. He laughed and played along with it. I wish I could have met this guy. Seems like such a great soul from the outside. This video is gold. R.I.p. legend
That moment when you realise that loads of reggae and punk songs only have a theme of 2/3 chords and play on vocals/brass spanning across sympathetic scales
He was very patient and let it roll.
This is awesome. Just when I thought I saw everything there was to see. Been seeing a lot of other cool stuff from my other favorite bands surfacing recently. So great to see. Thank you!
Thank you!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I saw them in 1994 at the "Old" Soma.
THANK YOU 🙏
So awesome to see this. The recording to Foolish Fool is him in a friends living room. Love it man.
