I got the self titled album in the fall of 96, my freshman year of high school. Another guy in my class was also really into that album, and we became friends and started hanging out. Eventually we both had their entire discography, plus a half dozen bootlegs. We would drive around in his S-10 listening to sublime compilation tapes and smoking tons of weed lol. We are still friends to this day, I'm about to be 39 and he's 40. We still hang out, smoke weed, and listen to music. Thanks Sublime!

I don't know about chills, but I did feel emotional. I'll explain.
I've been playing that solo for many years now. People always transcribe it without the double note, but I hear it there, and so I've always played it as a double note. Nevertheless, it has always confused me because no matter how quickly I try to alternate pick it, it never sounds quite right. I'd wondered if there was some other technique going on there that I hadn't thought of, lol.
Of course, Brad's dead, and it's such an obscure question to ask anyway,-it never even _occurred_ to me I'd ever get an answer to that question. I recommend the “Bradley’s House” podcast on all platforms - episode 35. Jon Phillips their manager goes into detail of the recording of this album. Brad was stoked - but knew he could do more and better… wanted to go to Jamaica and record. Big up the sublime family.

This album dropped the year I graduated High School. Actually, that summer. My brother got a hold of the album, the tape. We were hanging out with my older cousin's husband and his friends after work and he introduced us to a lot of great music. When I heard this, first track Garden Groove, next track What I Got, I knew that this band was something special and we had embarked on something that was going to endure for a long time. A watershed moment of our generation. That and the death of Pac.

It speaks volumes that they continued for the love of music & celebrating Brad's life. Gotta say Bud that the "steal your face" just reiterates that certain band's that run the gauntlet of my entire life have an energy all their own & I cud hardly walk away from them as I cud any loved ones in my life.
