Hour Long Battle with a GIANT Under Oil Rig!

- Fishing underneath some massive oil rigs we casted huge poppers and jigs to hook the hardest fighting fish in the ocean! I hook up to something massive and enter an hour long battle under a huge oil rig! Deep sea fishing for massive wahoo and yellowfin tuna we threw huge poppers in hopes of a massive topwater strike. We throw poppers as well as drop slow-pitch jigs to hook up to giant fish! This pursuit of a fishing pinnacle has long been on my bucket list and I'm so excited to bring you guys this amazing video! #swsportsman #saltwaterexpedition

The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel czcams.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
Dude, my arms were hurting watching you. Unbelievable how powerful that fish was. Such a great video.
A small price to pay for an amazing fish!

My pinnacle of fishing is sitting at my local loch catching brown trout on the fly while watching my dad trying to cast. Wouldn't have it any other way.
Did an overnight at ram Powell last weekend! We caught a dozen or more 30+lb blackfin. But never had any yellow bites :/. It’s a true fish haven. 3am, drag screaming, pouring sweat, arms seizing, it’s a jiggers paradise
Congrats on landing the big eye! My arms were doing "sympathy shakes" at the 42 minute mark. I once landed a 116 pound ulua out of Maui and I was *done* for the rest of the trip 😉
