Thanks for watching - Hry
Funny that your Raven Guard play more like Iron Hands!
They do? 🤔
@@RiftForgeStudio Think the IH legion rules might better that play style and army list. Get some graviton gun to help knock out Spartans & dreadnoughts too ;)
Raven guard gotta fill in the #s after istvan?
First time watcher on your channel. Was very well done and entertaining! Will be watching out for future batreps and subbing!
Excellent welcome aboard. We have a few that we have done now 🙂
Great bat rap and stunning looking armies.
Great rep, beautiful armies!
Awesome work as always guys!
Cheers bud. I'm part way watching you on bear foot - Sean
Good to see another game.
Great game guys! Good to see Russ being humbled!
Don't forget that in Assault Phase Reactions, you can wait to declare a reaction until after the Charge roll is made and it is determined a success or failure. In Shooting Phase Reactions, you have to declare before any dice are rolled. AoD Rulebook pg. 160
Also early on in the game when the RG rhino exploded, the Despoilers also needed to take a Pinning Check. AoD Rulebook pg. 208 any units HIT by a vehicle explosion take an immediate Pinning Check. I also forget this sometimes because it doesn't come up super often, but dreadnought explosions don't cause Pinning Checks and those are far more frequent so it's easy enough to miss.
But good rep as always fellas and two great looking armies! Keep up the good work! I enjoy your guys' bat reps the most so keep it up!
edit: you did check that despoiler squad I just missed it because it was on the "delegatus." My bad, carry on lads
Nice to know on the assault one. For the shooting ones we've probably discussed it off camera then forgot to mention it.
Cheers for the kind words bud. We strive to improve and entertain the best we can 🙂
Models look gorgeous!
Thanks a lot :)
Great looking armies.
Really love your wolves... Resisting the urge to start a new army now.
Don't resist. Just give into the urge 🤣
@@RiftForgeStudio I've only just started a Death Guard army 😂
Beautiful armies!
Sorry, I gotta be that guy who points out that RAW RG cannot take their legion rites unless their warlord also has master of the legion, so a Preator or Delegatus. The wording on the top of their rite's page is a bit different than most other legions for some reason and adds that restriction. The Alpha Legion and Iron Hands also have similar wordings.
You know I've never come across this before. Wonder why it's different for a few
That RG Despoiler squad will all bare heads is awesome!
Thanks! My Isstvan survivors. Full of vengeance!
Have you considered running varagyr instead of standard cataphractii? You would jump up to WS6 on the charge also with some other great rules. Wouldn't help too much on the Dread but a thunder hammer or two should make contact.
Great game guys. You should try ditching the apothecaries and using Speakers of the Dead. Make your Slayers far more effective.
Just finished the video. You won't regret the Speaker but I'd take one for each Slayer unit.
Great suggestions bud. Will have to try that out in the future.
Speakers are great, give them the great frost blade
I've gone for a thunderhammer on a terminator one I'm yet to paint
@@RiftForgeStudio nice yeah! The great frost blades is just the best frost weapon and 1 on a cata speaker with 10 deathsworn with 2 GFB seem very fun
Beautiful armies
I'm going to need to find that Forge Lord's axe now
Ha! He’s a useful unit!
Great battle- makes me very interested in joining HH
Do it! It’s great fun.
First and yay another batrep to sink my teeth into! Love the content guys.
Cheers Dan!
Vehicles can't react
p159 main rules
"Any reaction that allows a unit to move using its initiative characteristic rather than its movement characteristic may not be used by units that include any model with either no initiative characteristic (such as most vehicles)..."
Vehicles can react. The core reactions are available to them. That section of the book is referring to certain Advanced Reactions that use Initiative. Which reaction did we use in error? I’ll note for the future 😀
@@RiftForgeStudio The rule that says you need an initiative value to react is just on the main page of rules that talks about reactions. An example of a vehicle with an initiative value that can react would be a knight. The instance I am referring to is when the spartan reacted and advanced
Ah ok. If you have a look at the Core Reactions on page 160, the ‘Advance’ reaction gives details of how vehicles make use of it. It can make a 6” move towards the unit triggering the reaction. It’s not using an initiative value in this instance, so isn’t subject to the restrictions you outlined on page 159. Hope that helps :)
Unlucky Sean,do you think wolves suffer from it being more a shooting meta game now?great game and can’t wait for the next one👍
Not necessarily. The Wolves do have some very good rules. I think in this game the big points sink in the Spartan and terminators was a bad idea. I am currently painting up an all volkite kratos to bring some shooting into the list myself. Trying to not go down the "add more dreads" route
@@RiftForgeStudio 🤣 I was thinking more dreads🤣
42:34 bolters can't hurt T8
Ah yes! Thankfully that didn’t matter in the end, but I always forget the Levi is T8
@@RiftForgeStudio yeah, it's ruined my day many a time 😂
Love the games but I don’t get the music in the background. Doesn’t fit at all.
We'll have a look at something else in the next battle report
