I have never eaten a potato salad with so much sugar! Do you really need to sear cured/smoked sausages ? And is it necessary to cook the cream, which isn't listed among the ingredients anyway? Otherwise, I would prefer to chop the onions, sauté them in a little butter before pouring a good drinking glass of quality beef or chicken stock and add the cured beef sausages. Let it simmer for 10 min. before removing the sausages, then add some 4-5 tbsp of white wine vinegar and some pepper. Keep the sausages warm, and after 5 more min. pour the broth over the scliced but still hot potatoes and mix well. Let it stand for some 5 min., then add some creme fraiche, if you like, and sprinkle with chives. Serve it lukewarm together with the sausages and a mix of coarse mustard and some honey.

Your versions sound really good too. I guess you don’t need to sear the sausage but we like it that way. Try our version with sugar and cooked sour cream 😉We’ll definitely try your recipe ☺️

Now, this is a traditional Scandinavian/Danish warm potato salad, and it is made exactly the way shown in the video, where the balance between sweet, sour, and rich flavors provides a wonderful taste. And yes, of course, you sear or grill a sausage.

@@andersbro9987 Thank you for the information, but I wonder why people sear or grill smoked/cured beef sausages these days, when it is reportedly dangerous because of the carcinogenic agents which develop during cooking in the pan.
