Get rid of the parabolic reflectors, they don't benefit.
Use 'sport mode' and gain more altitude (150-200 foot) depending on terrain. Trees cut down signal output.
Flying in FCC output you should easily reach 2-3kms before RTH kick in. What lets these superb drones down is battery endurance. Now, really enjoy your 'Sparky'. :)
Your wrong Quentin.. the reflectors do work in heavy Wifi areas. Also next time you grab the spark from the bottom turn it on it's side, the motors will shut off
How can your dji spark go farther mine just goes like 300 metres i have mine at 5.2ghz

Hi I'm wondering if you can help. I have the Spark but it won't go no further than 25meters all around from where I'm standing, it's sucks! I have my phone connected to the controller and drone via WiFi and it has the very latest update. It's not on beginner mode and I have the max altitude and distance set at 300 meters, what could it be?

Can him help me with something I just got my dji spark and have it connected to my controller and my phone but on my phone it’s laggy and makes it 10 seconds delay when pressing record on the controller
That’s strange. What device are you using? Spark, controller, DJI go app and phone os all updated to latest versions?
Get a otg cable make sure your phone is on airplane mode and turn all Bluetooth devices that can interrupt signal

1. Full battery, I notice it was at around 80%
2. Fly into the wind in sports mode
3. Fly at a higher altitude
The reason I say that is I get that far in a residential valley with no range booster

I just read up. I fly a phantom 4. In my opinion I would always use a wired connection as opposed to wireless.

I just do a screen recording. Using built in screen record in iOS. Then overlay in timeline and resize.

Check your settings in the app. You may have restrictions setup and will have to override them. Ex. Hight limited to 100m in your country.
How did you do that? Do you mean we don't need a Mavic in terms of range?

Doesn't sport mode use more battery? I flew mine for the first time the other day and it seemed to last less time in sports mode than regular.
How far will it go without the parabolic things, do you need them?

Bad Larry , mine seems to start losing signal at about 100m but at that distance it is hard to see anyway.
One tip everyone seems to agree upon is DJI products seem to work better with iOS devices than android ones.

I used the stock setup of my spark today and got 3km of distance at 300m of height, footage was still smooth

You should have went out in sport mode you would got there in less time and save more battery then rth stop it and go sports mode back ...i got that far with my spark with the ipad and otg cable. No boosters i want to see 2k
AR 23 Yeah I agree. Next test hopefully in warmer and less windy conditions. I’ll take it in sport mode as far as it’ll go. Hopefully I don’t loose it!! Does OTG give more range or just better video signal?
Otg removes the wireless transmission between phone and remote. Much better all round.
AR 23 I noticed this also. I was out around 2600ft dist. No sport mode the way there because I was doing video. On way back I put sport mode and within seconds it was right back home with nearly 40% battery left.

That's what's bad about the mavic air and the spark you have to fly in a desert to get decent range I hate Wi-Fi and it's not just the range my mavic air at 900 feet lag that's why I returned mine my mavic 2 zoom and the pro no issues ocusync is great Wi-Fi sucks
Ocusync is absolutely better than straight using wifi, but it comes at a cost. There has to be some differentiators between the models and price points.
That’s not exactly true, I’m in central Florida. I got 15,000ft one way, suburban area. This was with the mavic air. I do agree ocusync is king but their enhanced wifi is not bad by any means.

Just hit 12880 ft myself and still had signal, hit RTH when I got nervous about battery.
