      Hungarian 'sz' sound like Polish 's' and 's' in all other languages except for Hungarian :) This is maybe the most crazy thing in Hungarian spelling.
      It's ironic how Polish indicate 'sh' ('sch', 'š' etc) with a strange combination of 's' and 'z'. Try to pronounce it, 'z' after 's', it won't be 'sh'. However if you quickly pronounce 'z' after Hungarian 's' (Polish 'sz'), it will sound 's' :)

    • @davidlukszits1880
      @davidlukszits1880 Před 4 lety +7

      Well, it's hard to translate. "Szívesen" means "kindly", but it comes from the "szív" word that is "hearth" and if you add the "esen" affixes in literal translation it means "with my hearth" or "from my hearth".

    • @kristofkovacs1867

      @animacs1 Před 2 lety +1

      Literally, it is "from the bottom of my heart", it from my heart.
      But you use it for "you're welcome " (after someone thanked you for something), or yeah, kindly, ie you did something for someone and it was a pleasure.

Although we would have used the Skype for a cost free connection. Finally now it's good to see that 7.6 thousand people liked this Hungarian teaching video, and about 377,000 watched it until this time. There are many people who would like to learn Hungarian.

But I had to keep a card in my pocket with the hotel name and phone number to give to the taxi driver or else I would have gotten hopelessly lost. Even the street signs are difficult for someone whose only language background is in Romance languages with a bit of Greek and Germanic word origins thrown in.
