DC /Pg County Md and it seems its been playing for some days if not weeks, so people in my Metro area have been listening...."we hear it" as the lyrics say. I know this song is geared toward representing black identity, ideal values and aspirations, but i relate to it a lot, coming from a pretty poor white family. We've been struggling since i had reason and as I've grown up, my mom and i have almost unconsciously begun bonding hard on this kind of message of getting our family ahead for my kids, the next generation. and i think that's what's also beautiful about this song, it's an idea that should be universal. Imagine how good life could be if we all prioritized this kinda community, and i definitely am pointing a finger at my own fellow white folks on this too.
