Hehe, i guess it helps that it stems back to history when the kilt was something to be feared, Scotsmen are infamous for in the past wearing no underwear. To be faced with an army that would use that to scare the enemy off and show them just how strong you were in the bitter weather with little armourments... It has become the ideal of legends and comedy ^^ One "Carry on.." film infamously uses the scot myth very well and yes indeedy with a lot of other classic british humour ^^
