For decades, Ralph has played the bad guy in his popular arcade video game. In a bold move, he embarks on an action-packed adventure and sets out to prove to everyone that he is a true hero with a big heart in Walt Disney Animation Studios' Wreck-It Ralph. As he explores exciting new arcade worlds, he teams up with some unlikely new friends, including feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz. Then, when an evil enemy threatens everything, Ralph realizes he holds the fate of the entire arcade in his massive hands.

"Cause if that little kid likes me, how bad can I be?" must be one of the strongest quotes ever to end a movie with. Really touches your heart. And doesn't fail on making me cry everytime I hear it.
Ikr
EXACTLY. I cry every time. That and when Ralph is going to sacrifice himself and recites the bad guy mantra. 😭😭😭😭
Every. Single. Time. *sniff*
Why, why, why,....
WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE SUCH A TERRIBLE SEQUEL TO THIS MASTERPIECE?!!!!
@@nicktechnubyte1184 Because the world went "woke" so they couldn't give Venelope a main character arc where she grows and learns responsibility so they had to shoe-horn Ralph into the main character in the third act so they could make it look like Venelope going "Turbo" at the end was HIS issue to deal with.
THUS: Venelope never learned to be responsible for her actions and became the entitled princess that she complained about.
Little not-so-“fun”-fact that nobody notices until it’s been pointed out:
When it comes to Calhoun’s “Saddest backstory” part. Remember she says cybugs “become what they eat”. The cybug ate her husband. She watched as the cybug morphed into her husband while she was forced to keep shooting it. She had the visual of killing the person she loved most on the day they were getting married.
That moment when she ask Felix to go out really just show how she dont want to relive that Ex-point again
A theory about her husband (much less evidence but would be fun) is that the programmers designed his appearance and personality as a reference to Felix obviously with some changes to fit that games world. That is also why they got attached so easily because her ideal man was someone based of Felix and Calhoun was the ideal woman for someone with taste based of Felix. A fun harmless theory to think about here.
Thats sad
Oh good NO!!! I didn’t even think about that 😭
Omg ... 🤯
A little fact: Zangiev was added to the 'bad guy' meeting, because one of the creators could not beat him when he was a kid. So much for revenge
That's pretty funny.
funny
That’s pretty hilarious. I kinda feel that way about n64 Mario golf, metal Mario. It’s been 20 yrs and I still can’t beat him 😠😅
I know it’s lame, but still drives me crazy lol.
This movie is honestly one of my favourite Disney movies
37:55 In case no one mentioned it already, but there is now an actual arcade machine that they made and placed in Disneyland's Tomorrowland exhibit where you can actually play the movie's version of Fix-it Felix Jr. game.
Omg really that's so cool
That's so creative
A lot of people ignore/don't think of how the bugs take the form of what they eat/absorb. She had to gun down a facsimile of her new husband.
I didn't think of that, that's creepy and very sad at the same time
I knew they became what they eat but forgot they ate the fiance. 😢😢
The Madagascar series is a pretty good one to check out, and Penguins of Madagascar is one of my all time favorite comedies
Tangled is honestly the best princess movie in my opinion
I can see why people like Tangled but for me Princess and the frog will forever be my fav 😋
@@sugared_teeth yes!
Madagascar us my fav movie of all-time and I agree about tangled the only thing that debates is princess and the frog
I freaking love the penguins. Wated the TV show, but the movie is an absolute hoot
does mulan count as a princess movie?
We Stan a grown man crying over a father figure coming to terms with the fact that he’ll never have the lot he dreams of but growing to accept his adopted daughter as the only person whose validation he needs
FACTS
Just so you know- every time an emotional scene comes on, in seconds I’m in tears lmao
So it feels nice to not be the only one crying in these lmaooo
You should watch some of the “Silver Age” of Disney, not JUST the golden age. Idk if you’ve e seen them, but Hunchback of Norte Dame and Atlantis and Treasure planet, all are worth watching. And all done by my friend Tab Murphy
Up!!!
Cool!
Oh my gosh yes!!
Silver age is quite a bit older than all that. Dang, making me feel old.
Ooooh has he reacted to Atlantis? I’d love to see what he makes of the cast and story~ :D
Interesting info: each of the ghost from Pac Man has different coding
The orange one for example isn't as aggressive as the other ones
inky pinky blinky y clyde are the names no? also i dont even remember which is which but i think clyde is the orange one? am i correct? i just want to know it because i love the fact that all the names rhyme except clyde
@@diegohiramguidogarcia6003 Clyde - orange
Pinky - pink
Inky - blue
Blinky - red
These are the colors I think
@@Alpha-nj8gn thanks bro
@@diegohiramguidogarcia6003 In some renditions of the game Clyde is replaced with Sue
I don't think Wreck-It Ralph was the true bad guy. People pushed away his house off of his property and built their own house on his property. Yes he handled his anger the wrong way but that was in his programming. And he had every reason to be upset. If anything he was a victim to selfish self-centered people.
That’s the entire point of the movie
@RooByrne what’s so ridiculous about it is that it’s just in the program he’s the villain, it’s not like he’s gonna wreck the building for real.
@RooByrne but it’s not like he would do it during closing hours, which makes it awful that they would treat him as a bad person, just because of the programming.
When I first saw this movie as a teenager I thought it was sweet when Ralph sacrificed himself. Now I get all teary-eyed when I see that scene 😭
Man, the last lines of this movie never fail to move me.
And ah yes, I personally would love to see you watch Tangled!
As much as I would hate to delay your reaction of Ralph 2, you MIGHT want to see some of those princess movies first. There's a great scene that sort of makes fun of them, and you'd probably find it a lot funnier if you know who they are. :D
Yes that's what I was thinking. This scenes are so hilarious if you know the stories of the princesses!
That scene isn't funny. It's just pandering and bringing up an issue that doesn't exist anymore.
While I do hate how Disney blatantly promotes their properties inside other properties and tries to pretend it's a special shout-out to fans--like the Marvel/Star Wars bit in Free Guy, for example--but when they do it so that it's actually entertaining, I'm willing to forgive them, and I liked the princess scenes. (I also forgave the Mary Poppins reference in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.)
Wreck it Ralph wasn't trying to change who he was, at least not to me he wanted to be accepted and appreciated. And the only way he was able to get that was by earning a medal.
Dang you put that twist about Turbo together like a master!
There’s a chance King Candy was a real character and Vanellope’s father before Turbo killed him and took over.
The thing is, how would the actual king candy die if he dies in his own game? Wouldn’t he just regenerate? Unleeeess turbo snuck in and completely wiped king candy’s code and disguised himself as “king candy” then half assed killing venellope.
Love this movie so much! I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone, but I feel like anyone who had ever been bullied and wanting to fit in can relate with Vanellope, which makes that ending so much more emotional!
Actually, I know exactly how she feels. I was diagnosed with Epilepsy when I was a kid, and not only the others made fun of me, but the teachers were scared of me because they thought I'd cause trouble. They also kicked me out of their classes. It just made me want to hug her when I first saw the movie
@@kittycatmeowmeow963 🤗
If you liked Tangled, you’d also enjoy Pixar’s “Brave”.
Lies! Deception!
N-No......
Couldn't disagree more. I loved Tangled, I absolutely hated Brave. IMO, Brave is Pixar's first failure.
12:10 Basically, Calhoun was a tribute to Fem Shepard from the Mass Effect games. Hero's Duty definitely also tributes Aliens, Starship Troopers with some elements of Mass Effect too.
Mario was thought of being used as cameo but the directors and story men couldn't think of any place he could but him without deverting attention from the story so that's why he only gets mentioned in the movie.
Not only did Wreak-it-Ralph convince us the song "Shut Up and Drive" by Rihanna was about cars, it also convinced us that Q*bert's cussing was just how he talked
This movie is right up there with Who Framed Roger Rabbit(and to an extent, for me, Ready Player One), and you'll find elements in this movie that are there too. They put so much care into the characters and world building in this one, unlike the 2nd movie. They waited too long to make that and only butchered it anyway. Gal Gadot was cast there just to be Gal Gadot, it was a clear cash grab just for Disney princesses merch, and Vanellope had some stupid reverse character development in that one which conflicted with the whole 'going Turbo' issue in the 1st movie. But Wreck it Ralph 1 is an absolute gem. It actually taught some morals.
If reference fest is your thing then Free Guy is part of the list.
As for Ralph2, forgave it all sins, for Slaughter Race song, Alan Menken going back before Disney Renaissance to Little Shop of Horror.
The code at 23:08 is the famous Konami Code where you enter it in the original NES Contra (1987) and get like 30 lives to help you beat the game. You enter it before you start. It's used in hundreds of games these days as a callback.
20:46 it's just a candy pun. He said glazed instead of grazed. XD
Could’ve been the other way too😏😂
I love this movie. Vanellope is my favorite character.
it's cool that John C Riley (voice of Ralph) Sarah Silverman (Voice of Vanellope) Jane Lynch (voice of Calhoun) and Jack McBrayer (voice of Felix) all look like their characters. Also Ralph the candy Hulk
Pretty sure that's usually done intentionally, for mocap/lip flap matchups
Wreck-it Ralph is masterpiece of D-studios, is respect for old-games arcades, is 10/10. But his sequel, "Broke the enternet" is... is not (rus, so sorry for bad english)
The second movie isn’t as good as the first, but i still think it’s good.
This movie holds an extremely special place in my heart. There was a time when I was going through a lot of depression and feeling like a worthless monster. I was forgetting about the people who cared about me. Some really close friends of mine have kids that adore me. When I first saw this and it got to the part where Ralph says "because if that little kid likes me, how bad can I be? " it helped to remind me. And that part wrecks me every time I see it. (See what I did there). Thankfully now I'm in a much better place.
There were actually also boys in the sugar rush group as well. So it wasn't just mean girls, but mean boys as well.
I love this movie and everything about it the story the music the visuals. Specially the lessons and messages
When Ralph broke Vanillope’s car, my heart physically hurt. Sarah Silverman in that one scene was so good at expressing her devastation that it makes me cry every single time. It really is like hearing a kid get absolutely shattered. I believe it takes a tremendous amount of talent to convey such a strong emotion that well.
In general, I love this movie! Everyone is amazing in this film, the characters and the actors. Really a fun movie.
My hubby LOVES Homeworld! He's been playing it since he was a teenager.
We're currently smack in the middle of P5R.
28:20 You’re the only person I’ve seen so far that put two and two together and realized King Candy was Turbo way before the twist was even shown! Incredible
Yeah, it's amazing how he's the only reactor (so far) to figure it out. Like HOW!? That twist caught EVERYONE by surprise!
You should watch Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole. It’s so underrated and the animation is amazing.
YES!! Soo underrated! The best 3D animation I have ever seen, it just looks so real!
I have been saying that about all villains there very important for movies or games. it's what makes the stories so good. You can't have a hero without someone to raise up against.
This is my 10th video of yours I’m watching snd I just have to say that I’m loving this channel! Your reactions are so sweet. I’m definitely going to watch all if your past animated movie reactions and can’t wait for future videos
Hey JV, so it looks like I don't have to suggest _Tangled,_ heh. Instead, here are some other movie suggestions for you:
- _Zootopia:_ Buddy cop movie. Also, funny bunny cop movie.🐰 One of Disney's recent bests, with an underlying message that's even more topical today than when it came out.
- _Scott Pilgrim vs. the World:_ Based on the comic of the same name. You'd probably enjoy it given your video gaming background, as the setting is essentially game-ified. Also one of the best movies to watch if you appreciate innovative movie editing and transitions, plus it's got a killer soundtrack and a lot of before-they-were-famous actors.
- _Your Name (Kimi no Na wa):_ Fan favorite fantasy anime about two teens who body swap. Beautiful, funny, and one of the highest grossing anime films of all time. Avoid spoilers like the plague here, you don't want to know too much more about the plot.
- _Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind:_ Totally different than the other movies, about a man (Jim Carrey) undertaking a medical procedure to erase his memories of his girlfriend after their breakup. It's a mix of heartbreak, sci-fi, and dark comedy, with some wild visuals and exceptional writing (Oscar winner for best screenplay). Lots of feels to be had along with the weird.
Zootopia is BRILLIANT!
I love your reactions, it's like the highlight of my day to watch you experience the emotions and feels I felt when watching all these animated movies
“Are they ever gonna make a stinker?”
*stares in Ralph Breaks the Internet*
14:54 Well you sorta can, you just have to mod the game. The characters don't behave like they would in their own game, but it's close enough. XD
Always happy to see when you react to these movies, when you mentioned Metal Gear Solid I actually realised I never noticed it 🙈 and I felt a bit Nostalgic as I played it a small bit very long ago on PS1 & PS2 🤣There was a game on I think on PS1 that was similar to Sugar Rush, or Sugar Rush reminded me of this game: Wacky Races, feels awkward to be talking about Ps1 🤣You're reactions are so fun to watch and I always end up crying when you cry 🥰
Oh I am sure you already have quite a long list of movies yet to watch, but if I can add to your list and you haven't seen them yet, these are some in my opinion, that I think you might like - please forgive me if someone already suggested it or if you've already seen it:
Happy Feet
Cars (nr 1 at least)
The Book of Life
Flushed Away
Ratatouile
Ferdinand
The Fantastic Mr Fox
Finding Nemo and/or Finding Dory
(just these few at least)
One of my favorite movies of all time. Reminds me of my childhood. My brother and I didn't have cable in my room growing up, so this DVD was on most nights I slept.
28:22 - Wow you guessed the plot twist XD
29:48 I LOVED REBOOT 😭🔥👏🏾
My step-daughter's first job out of college was as Assistant Technical Director for the sequel to this movie. She then moved on to Technical director for Frozen II. She always wanted to help entertain people, considering it a noble thing to do. I admire her dedication to making people smile.
Very proud to have subscribed to your channels for a long time, especially when I hear a reference to Reboot.
We can very easily remember it, when it was extraordinary and especially after the skip times of Enzo.
New subscriber here.. It's so adorable to see how much you knew in the movie. Loved your reaction.
The end always hit diff😭😭
It is the sweetest thing to watch you worry about that little girl and try to figure out ways to save her.
Here’s one of my favorite Easter eggs in a movie filled with them: during the end credits there’s a song called “Wreck It, Wreck-it Ralph” by Buckner & Garcia, who did the 80’s hit “Pac-Man Fever”. However, Gary Garcia passed years ago so Jerry Buckner had to use a new singer, but there’s an “uh” during the song’s bridge from one of Garcia’s old recordings that Buckner added as a tribute to his old partner.
One of my actual favourite original stories.
I used to play the actual games on pc. They were a lot of fun, especially the bug hunter one.
JV after watching this I’ve got inspired on how I want to see this. I may watch this in my VR retro theater.
I personally enjoy both of the Wreck-It Ralph movies. But I really hope you’ll look into TheThing’s video on 10 Wreck-It Ralph 2 Theories That Are Game Changers. The last two really made me love Ralph Breaks The Internet even more. Also, see how Sarah Silverman adjusts her voice to be like that - I personally find that incredible.
Thanks for these Disney/Pixar reactions! I thoroughly enjoy those!
Aw JV love your intros and insight at the end.
Exactly my reaction to this movie bro just like u and to top it off the ending song cant get any better .
I cried and loved this movie. Man those the good old days when we had arcade machines… ❤️
Bro till this day… the ending kills me every time… AGGGHHH! Dang it I’m
Teary eyed now!!😂😂😂
As an emotional man when it comes to movies and TV, I love how you don't edit out the tears...
Respect
wear your tears with pride bro. I'm right there with ya everytime I watch this movie and part two. if you had these feels for part one, I can only imagine if you watch part two. loved this. subscribed. laters dude.
I loved how the traumatized soldier walks into objects in place, like when AI of NPCs doesn't work right.
Great reaction! That finale somehow really hits in the feels!
"Because of you, Ralph, I'm now the most powerful virus in the arcade!" Because of Ralph? Yeah, that isn't Turbo talking, it's the cybug.
Man, your predictions are on point
I remember Reboot. I recently rewatched the first couple of episodes, and it’s as great to watch as I remember. I want to get back to rewatching it all, but I can’t find the time. The same goes for other shows I used to watch from my childhood.
Joined the 15% I've been watching you for months, I hope other fans will soon as well
You are number one for guessing that twist villain.
Este hombre tiene un gran corazón como para llorar por las películas de Disney... Y la verdad es que yo también lloro con esas películas, me gustan también sus reacciones.
JV's first Disney Princess movie
Sequel is FULL of easter eggs🌟💯🥇
You need to watch Brother Bear 😭💕
I love when you says IS the call of duty guy ooh no Hero of duty 🤣
Man, I loved Homeworld. I felt powerful and in control of 3D space battles in a way that’s never been replicated in all the video games since it’s release. Plus, the story and world building were absolutely ahead of its time.
How do you know that King Candy is Turbo?! That's awesome 😂
It is suppossed to be a plot twist
Holy cow ReBoot?! WOW that takes me way back to my childhood, I loved that show!
You did it again! You predicted several parts to the ending! XD
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
I love the part at the end when she’s princess again and everyone starts apologizing, she tells everyone who bullied her she’s gonna have them executed and they start crying. And Jane Lynch’s character starts loving how dark she is.
I like how he cries at the end and i understand it cuz i cry at all the pokemon theme songs
I'm so looking forward to your reaction to Wreck-It Ralph part 2!!!!
You quickly become my favorite reactor
These are old style video games I used to play. 8 and 16 bit from the 80s.
Monster House and Paranorman are great movies to watch for Haloween
The first time I saw this movie when M. Bison says "You're not going Turbo, are you?" I seriously thought he meant as in Street Fighter II Turbo as I read about it in video game magazines in my youth during the mid-90's. Did anyone else thought the same?
I saw this movie in theaters when it came out. But, let me explain how that came to be.
I was a freshman in high school. We were on a class field trip to a movie theater. But, the movie that we were going to watch wasn't ready by the time we got there. So, we had to watch this in the mean time. (Unfortunately, this was my last movie theater experience.)
this moovie is simply amazing
My favorite John C Reilly movie is Chicago. his humor movies are all over the place, but musically - Chicago is amazing!
The orange guy from close to the beginning was Qbert, my aunt had the game for ps2 lol 😂
Okay so I knew what song played during that scene and I was singing in my head but when you said “shut up and drive” I said it out loud too 😂 it was so weird
Aye! Don't too much compare your channel with others. I love your channel, you had this unique style. so different, love it.
For example, what's makes you different from others is like in this one 34:43 xD
And my favorite part is when you make sound effects with your mouth, 😆love it👍🏾
Hey ! For "recent" disney Princess movies i recomanded "Brave", "Princess and the frog" and for more "old" ones i will choose "Snow White", "The Beauty and the beast" and "The little mermaid", for these 3 movies the "bad is really good"
And for other film animation i recomanded "Anastasia" (just incredible, non-disney) and "Treasure Planet" (incredible too, disney) and "Bambi" (classics, charming, just love it)...i grew up with this classics !!
Love This Video !
:)
The reason that the Nicelanders have "low frame rate" is so simulate sprite animations in early video games such as in the early arcade and NES and SNES era where characters walk cycles and other movements consisted of two to three frames.
JV: Thanks for watching the intro. Some people just skip it, but not you.
Me who watches the intros in 2x: _Am I in danger?_
37:10 note here that Vanellope is acting slightly selfish and needy here, but gets over it. Ralph is not needy / does not act like that at all. (This is important to note for the brain-dead sequel)
He's got his job to do after all, and is the more mature character of his movie. He also destroyed her kart for what he thought was her own good.
33:53 That needs to be a gif. Need to be able to use that gif on the Discord or something. :P
Q-bert, I had it on our really old computer with the Windows ME operating system on it. Also a couple of really old Sonic games
That last sentence always gets me.
20:48 it wasn't an adult joke haha it's like saying "he just grazed me" like if someone had fired at him, but it was a donut so he said "glazed" :p
12:32 It's called Shell-shocked, a long term traumatic experience that has been inflicted on by war
