Any chance you could do a third level test 2? We are doing digital dressage tests because of social distancing requirements due to covid and I am giving medium (the Australian equivalent to third level) a go! - we have the same tests!
another question ....what is true bend the judges want to see ? what happens if i collect the reins from extended walk to medium walk at V with my elbows staying in soft contact with my upper body ? what happens to my seat ( the belly muscle ), my hands and ankles if i rise my lower arms a little out of the supple elbows before collecting the walk, am i able to let breathe the upper leg that moment ? .......am i able to carry a heavy box in front of me and walking with , but with elbows not at my body ?.....*smile*....Harvey is really a nice, good and willingly horse doing his job .....and i am sure he has that spirit to show himself proud and powerful in competition ..... *smile* .....Baucher said "hands without legs , legs without hands ".....the best medicine for lightness
haha , nice to meet you here.....i asked you to consider it cause i read in a book ( maybe by Kyra Kyrklund, i forgot ) true bending ends up anatomically with your outside leg ??......hui......then i had to take a breath
is Harvey a bit lazy horse and how old is he ?...he looks much pretty and what is the leading rein at 3.59 and which rein gives to start canter from walk at K ? and do you use always your 2 legs for impulsion in the walk piourettes and what aid turns ?
Hi! Harvey is 6 and no, he’s not lazy. You’re supposed to give on the inside rein for the canter. Alternate legs for the walk pirouettes. Outside rein and leg turn. 👍😊
yes to give a little inside rein for his parotid gland ( just looked in leo dict , ha ha ha) being free ( not holding his neck round ) starting canter cause then he starts more powerful in its first canter stride/jump, even if he wants to rise up his neck a little that moment .....therefore i think of the wisdom of Dr. Rainer Klimke, gold medalist , sometime we riders have to accept a little mistake for a while to prevent a bigger mistake !....so true ......its seems here that his canter is not true collected over his back, miss the jump in it but i am sure he has it cause saw the extended canter.....and bending is also in the hind legs later ...so then the bigger mistake would be to have a not so elastic collected canter later ( no good pirouettes counting 2 ) and the smaller mistake only now for some time a neck a bit rising , when he has power in hind legs he can carry his neck in deep position .....smile ......and for the walk pirouette its the same later with canter pirouettes with mostly weight aid, leg i need for getting impulsion making hind legs quick ( in right timing ) if i want it , the better you are a conductor with your seat the less you need outside leg miles behind the girth, ha ha ( my old trainer said the elegant rider rides the half pass only with her butt ) , what happens if you turn from one point of a circle to see/reach the next point of that circle in 10 meters - staying one trot/ walk or canter step behind the inside shoulder of the horse that turning moment only ! ?....there is another great sentence "shoulder in is the mother of all lateral movements in riding"...but then is the volte ( 8m circle ) the grand ma and the circle itsself is the grand grand Ma .....smile? .....the closest turn concentrated on of our weight aid even on a circle is the grand grand grand ma for all difficult things later .........smiiiiiiiiile....later riding with weight aid is like not thinking about if you are still breathing , the same is with the timing of leg aid , its in the bloodstream of rider then but before it needs simple training ( the importance of the supple ankles ) , even gold medal swimmer are are not all the time training in the swimming pool water but have to do other boring trainings
Amelia, Thank you very much for talking through the test, I find it very helpful. Especially when you remind us to breathe. 😊
You are so welcome!

Haha. True. I like that saying! True bend is where the horse bends evenly throughout their entire spine from the poll all the way to the tail!

Wonderful video. It's so helpful. I'm not at this level but it puts me in the mindset for the future. I will be sharing.
Beautiful! But I am curious...what was your score?
