This Clip is brilliant for many reasons but I caught something years ago that just made it that more amazing. At 8:04 you can see patrice made this woman laugh at her own fake outrage. She then composes herself and goes back into character. Only someone as honest and brutal as patrice could expose how disingenuous people like this really are in such an honest and telling way (and in real time nonetheless). Comedy allows us to transend our own suffering and point out the absurdity of the human condition. People that gatekeep jokes genuinely do not understand what comedy does for people, how it helps people cope with their pain because through comedy we express the shared suffering in a light hearted way. It's about a human connection through humor that elevates us above the shitty circumstances we may find ourselves in. Not to mention comedians are the people who bring up the uncomfortable questions that need to be asked in a manner where people can actually talk about sensitive issues in a productive way.

Btw thank you for mentioning the victim part. The fact is we’ve found that people that have a victim type personality they are at a much greater chance of being targeted by a predator. Because the victim attitude displays extreme weakness and predators love to target weak people. People don’t understand your attitude gets projected by your body language. That’s why we all know when someone is mad just by the way they are walking. Same with the victim type personality they have the same body language that looks like a wounded animal running from a lion. Animals of all types do the same. This is why when you see a bear the best advice is make yourself big and scream while making eye contact to let him know you won’t be his/her victim.

She is right the market determines what's funny, but that market changes over time and region. Funny is subjective and if the market allows it the comedians make money. You can't use your own morality and subjective opinion to determine how everyone else feels. It's how you feel not how the market feels.

People these days now are offended over something that’s not harmful. Making fun of rape joke isn’t supposed to be taken seriously it’s making fun of it because how terrible it is, I’m sick of people like her are offended so easily.

I think it's simple. If you don't wanna hear those jokes, then don't listen to those comedians. If I want to listen to a clean and light hearted comic I'll watch Brian Regan who's great. Point is that if you go to the comedians shows or listen to their podcasts your literally supporting them and their comedy. If that's not what you like to hear then don't dignify it by putting yourself in the position to experience it. You gotta know who you're watching. If it's a comic you don't know then that's different. At that point, you don't go to another show or whatever if you don't like their comedy. Regardless of right or wrong, you're bringing attention to these people who would either lose their jobs or change their set if people stopped giving them attention. It's simple

Very simple answer…. Look at everybody’s who listen to him talking, and they’re all laughing, hey if you don’t like him just don’t listen to him,
In short everybody’s on earth should be crying, because if your laughing your evils. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Humor, like truth and sex, is best when it's a little painful.

It’s a copeing mechanism people. We something bad happens the fact is it’s already happened they jail send people to jail but that doesn’t change the fact of what happened. Coping is all you have and most do it with humor. To try and change the emotion associated with what happened.

The marketplace spoke. That is true, lady. You just read the market all wrong.
The market decided that even after his passing, people would be able to build careers out of posting videos of them watching Patrice videos.

Sorry if someone already said this before.…. The other context about subjects that could be considered offensive per example the rape joke All the rape jokes I’ve ever heard are about the rapist I’m not Victim. That’s why when they ask have you ever heard a rape joke that’s funny he said I’ve heard plenty of ones that are funny. The same thing goes with Holocaust or any majorly offensive topic. A lot of times the marginalized person in the joke is actually not the subject of the humor it’s really The predator is this punchline. If this were 10 years ago I would post examples of said jokes and break them down. But right now because of the job that I do I dare not to cross that line
