  • Jean-Michel LAPORTE is doing a video report on the HOW IT'S MADE team while they are doing their show in his clay factory at FORMERIE (France)
The Laporte Family is really proud that Discovery Channel chose our Laporte clay target factory in Formerie (France) as a perfect example to show "How it's made".
It is a great honor for us since Discovery Channel only features the very best in each industry.
Stay tuned, the show will air in a few weeks in Northern America (Canada and USA).
Our targets are going to be thrown in some of the biggest events in the World in the next few years, when our Laporte traps remain the highest reference all around (sporting, trap and skeet): 2018 World Skeet Championship, 2018 World FITASC Championship, 2018 Nationals, 2019 World Skeet Championship, 2019 NSCA Nationals and US Open, 2020 Tokyo...

Wow thanks for this in depth almost intimate journey on how these clays are made. I found the beginning to end process fascinating and the explanations of the inner workings very knowledgeable

This video had very little to do with how clay targets are made, it looked more like someone that has no concept of manufacturing processes was given a video camera and told to make a movie with bright colors and lots of motion.

Bonjour.
Targets are made of mineral or tree resin. The first ones degrade mechanically over time and use raw materials complying with ECHA rules(the European body which determines whether a product is toxic or not). We use to analyze the level of PAH ( components of all fossil mineral matter) to be sure to produce only targets with no impact on the environment. The only product that is 100% biodegradable, that is to say decomposed by micro organisms, is rosin that we use for our so-called NATURAL targets. Laporte has been using this material for dozens of years. Because they are more expensive, we have developed ECO targets which is of mineral origin and yet meets the strictest standards that can be found to the point of getting very close to rosin. Note that our paints are natural and biodegradable. Have a good day

Thought this was about HOW clays are made. Looks more to be along the lines of "Oh! Be ever so impressed with how we film this!"
    Show title is utterly misleading.
